I'm not saying there are no $29 flights but last time it felt like Trip subsidised a dozen of seats, so they were gone in seconds 🤷‍♂️
I wonder if anyone here was able to buy it.

"We're dropping coupons that'll get you up to 50% OFF* flights" is very different to actually getting 50% off flights as the title reads. Chances are most people aren't going to be getting a coupon.

Agreed. Too many asterisks in the post = red flag

      • +3

And the asterisks don't point to anything that explains in full - which is meant to be the point of using them. They might as well be flags that translate to "bullsh*t".

Totally agree, this smells like bait and switch. Promise super cheap and only have a few items then direct to full price.

    • +2

Sneaky way of getting around the "insufficient quantity" rule.

  • +5

I would rather have 10% or more cash back on international flight.

I want to take some mates to Bali in September.
Any tips from the community? It'll be my/our first time. No idea about where to go, what to do, how to do it the ozbargain way, which Hotel, car rental, how not to get robbed/rPed or any other advice? One week.

Would also like to know the same

    • If you do a search on one of the many internet forums around I am sure you will find people who have asked this question before. Hope that helps :)

Just did my first ever trip last year from Perth. I'd recommend 3-5 days for a first trip. Kuta, Seminyak, Changgu for party life, Ubud for relaxation.

Everyone has different budgets and preferences. You'll have to chatgpt, Google and ask your mates.

    • how not to get robbed/rPed

I can't help with the other things, but this one is relatively way to avoid.

      1. If you look for trouble, you will find it.
      2. Hang out in larger groups
      3. Avoid drinking alcohol /drugs, see rule 1

More ads than a Pakistani scam site

  • I suspect one of their conditions is how they make a high volume of sales:

*Purchase Notice: Due to the exceptional response and high volume of participants in the flash sale, please confirm the total amount before finalizing payment. The final amount
displayed on the checkout page shall prevail.

  • What's the coupon code for the hotels?

  • Within seconds the codes for hotels at 50% (capped at $100) and 25% off (capped at $50) were all used up, even when I logged in waiting before 2pm AEST. Bit of a scam. Better off using cashback from Shopback at 11%.

  • Is booking airticket thru Trip reliable? Will the ticket be cancelled or not valid? Appreciate anyone who have booked through them to share some info. Tq.

    • +1

Have done it multiple times no issues, including a $5k+ business class trip. If you need to change or cancel they'll charge additional on top of airline fees like everyone else.

    • Trip is brilliant. I've booked trains, flights, accom. After a few bookings, they gave me bonus status, which got me free lounge passes, etc.
      Highly recommend them.
Oh, also, they give you updates for your flight, not rocket science of course, but the gate is often posted on Trip app hours before it shows even on the airport boards!!!

  • And just like that it's sold out. Was looking for Melbourne to Chengdu but there wasn't many good dates ):

    • What do you mean by good date?

      • A good date is one that works for me lmao. Though there also weren't many dates in general

  • Was looking at Melbourne but looked like they were all for Avalon airport
