  • Great price, if I didn't buy up with the business 30% off I would be all over this.

Great charger, do note however that this one does disconnect power to renegotiate like most other chargers. There is a newer model of this that does not (Anker A2668) but you won't get it for this price.

    • +2

Not so educated in this.. what do you mean it disconnect power?

Does that mean that if you've already got one thing connected and plug something else in, it will stop charging the first thing for a second to split the output between two port instead of giving 65W to the first port?

I assume after like half a second it would just resume charging again?

      • +2

yes it's quick, but on one of my chargers like this it can be incredibly annoying with my FPV drone battery charger that has to be manually started once plugged in.
I'll plug in the batteries, cycle through the menu, start the charge. Then I'll plug in the goggles to a different USB port, the charger resets, causing the battery charger to reset and then I'll cycle through again. If I then unplug something from charge it'll also disconnect and renegotiate, meaning I have to start the batteries again.

It's a niche case, but something that is painfully annoying to remember on a charger that does it.

        • +5

Yeah its generally not an issue for most but one thing that caught me out was having a usb hub with my laptop + SSD attached, the SSD would be temporarily disconnected which would cancel any transfer in progress.

          • +1

@eecan: wow yeap excellent example! I was thinking of maybe a portable monitor setup possibly being annoying, but a powered USB hub would be super frustrating

        • +1

My pain points with disconnect & renegotiate are:
          1. Raspberry Pi
          2. Travel router
More of an issue when travelling

Yea that’s the reason I returned this charger. I have “Optimised Battery Charging” setting turned on my iPhone and when I tried to charge my iPhone every night, this charger would not charge past 80%.

When the iPhone reaches 80% and “pauses” charge, the Anker charger would then cut power off to the USB port, so I’d wake up to 80% charged phone every morning instead of full charge.

      • +5

not sure why you're getting negged, "Optimised Battery Charging" means the iPhone will hold at 80% until say 30min before your first alarm, then finish charging so that it's at 100% as close to when you normally unplug to minimise wear on the battery cells.
This is different to Charge Limit which hard caps 80%, unless you accidentally had that on too but I presume you checked.

Interesting to hear something in the way the Anker negotiates charging speeds causes the iPhone to not do the 80-100%.
Could it possibly be it "renegotiated" at an incredibly low current when it hit the 80%, and then when it wanted more later, the Anker charger didn't give it anything extra and stayed on a low current mode since "the last unplug"?

        • +1

I remember my old Sony X Compact having that feature which I quite liked.

What I do now with my (old) Samsung is a bit left field but in case it gives people ideas, is I have my wireless charger on a simple digital timer which turns on a few hours before I get up so for most of the night it's not sitting at 100% either.

    • what’s the big deal with disconnect though? when you plug in a 2nd device to charge it will have to renegotiate (ie disconnect and reconnect) and distribute the power

      • +7

lots of devices are now usb powered, for example new pc's and routers. If you have this as the power supply and plug in your phone, your pc or router reboots.
        Not fun.

  • Early deal??

  • +7

I suspect they dropped the price early for Prime Day, but forgot they already had 30% off coupon on it.

All the other items in the 30% off category are full price

  • Cashback companies are incredibly quiet this year, is this it?

    • wait until tomorrow, prime starts midnight

      • +1

Cashback companies were quiet for EOFY as well.

Good charger. Good price. Does super fast charge 2.0 on my s24u.

  • Good price. I would have bought this if this deal was available. I bought one of the Heymix 45w ones instead for $10 cheaper. I know everyone hates Heymix but mine has held up pretty well over the past few months without heating up. GaN Heymix too

    • lol I got a old gan 100 w heymix gan charger and a 8 port AC heymix board too…

i think the gan charger has phantom noise tho so that's a bit of n issue.

  • +7

    Buy now think later 😂

  • +2

Great price! Would buy again if I didn't already have 2 of them

    • +1

Same here. Do I need a third… nah!!!

  • -1

Thank you , dont need it but got one..

  • sweet thanks

  • +1

looking at power distribution it is strange that for 2 and 3 ports, usb C output is 40W and they put Laptop label for it. i mean laptop usually need 65w or more, right?
maybe if powered off, we can charge laptop with 40w

    • +3

some laptops only come with 45w chargers. even a laptop with 65w charger won’t be pulling 65w all the time. it will be fine

    • +1

A Mac laptop can be charged at 40 W, even while powered on. That charge may not exceed the power being drawn though (depending upon laptop and CPU and peripheral usage). Basically, this can extend the time a laptop can be used, but eventually it will run out of energy if power in is less than power consumed (for "normal" usage and not having USB ports drawing a lot of power, this should be fine).

      • +1

oh ok now im interested to get his haha but no more prime

  • Nice one thanks op

  • Does this have PPS? I thought i recall seeing comments about how it doesn't, or maybe im mistaken

EDIT: I think it goes up to PPS 25w, as opposed to 45w

    • again I tried to share the wrong things. need to stop commenting the word SFC.

yeah it does have PPS, but need to check your phone input spec with the included charger to check whether the PPS charges your phone at fastest rate.

  • would this charge a mini pc 12v 3amp?

    • +1

Yes but as above, be aware of the power disconnecting if you plug other devices in as it needs to renegotiate power distribution.

      • oh thats not good

  • Thanks! God one.

    • +6

      im God number two.

  • +2

Not even sure why I need, got 1 LOL

  • Thank you!

  • Does this disconnect when plugging in another device to re distribute power and does it get too hot?

    • +1

Yes and temp is subjective, but not worryingly hot.

      • Damn, may need to pass on it then

  • Thanks O.P. got 1.

  • I don't have a current/known need for it, but that price for that product, its worth having in reserve.

  • +1

Last time I got this I paid $39 IIRC, nice find, $25.19 is a deal, just ordered, arriving tomorrow, thanks!

  • Not working for me

  • +3

Just missed it, price reverted back to $59

  • +1

Did they just update the price? Mine is showing $59 before the voucher is applied

    • +1

      Yep its gone

  • +2

Missed it by just 5 mins as I walked away to check wife's existing charger (making sure it's old enough to upgrade) and the deal was gone.

  • +12

Thank god I missed it, I definitely have enough chargers but wouldnt have held myself back

    • Hahaha but you do have a friend in me to gift :)

    • That’s the spirit

  • I knew it!

actually I think I tried to predict it would have a Prime day price drop, and this is just before.

  • Good stuff. Killed a laptop charger recently with my soldering iron overloading it somehow, so this is a nice replacement.

  • +1

    Ffs missed it again

    • +8

Just think you were busy living instead

  • prime deal but $33 why oh why

    • +1

      With 10% off now not 30% =\

  • Already got one, I will pass my spot to next lucky soul 😃

  • Got this to take to UK and europe with me in August, anyone know if there will be any issued using this with an adaptor?

    • +1

Spent a month in Italy recently and it worked with zero issues with a basic adapter.

Charged both my power bank and phone overnight.

      • Perfect response thank you, were Italy and Greece. Reckon it could handle two phones and a power bank?

        • I don't see why not but haven't personally tried it

  • +2

For those who missed this deal, consider another well reviewed similar Novoo 100W charger with cable

for a little more @ $39.99 or if you have Topcash $5 still for $35 delivered if you have Prime.
