Not bad for a 6% cashback on Coles giftcards
Looks like there's no purchase limit of number of giftcards

Can you buy gift cards from coles Gift cards ? For example the one in this deal
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/913395
Only if the cashier lets you. Not at the self checkout.
Just wondering when was the last time you bought a gift card with a Coles gift card. Thought it wouldn't work.
Proper gift card? Probably 2 years ago, before they updated self checkout software.
In May, I tried paying for Telstra $2 SIM with a gift card at the self checkout and it wouldn't let me. I went to the cashier and they overruled the system. So, in theory, they can do the same for a gift card.
@Miroslav: I've always been able to buy SIM cards at Coles self-checkout with Coles gift cards without any issues. My last SIM purchase was also in May. Part payment with the Coles gift cards isn't allowed at the self-checkout.
I bought a Boost $2 SIM card in Feb at self-checkout with a Coles gift card too. Not sure why it didn't work for your Telstra $2 SIM.
NO
only tracked 1%
Same, had make sure to click on the button from the westpac lounge coles bonus 5% page to go to coles giftcard page, showing 'use westpac card to earn bonus cashback' on the page and used a linked westpac debit card, but says 1% tracked. I forgot whether the bonus cashbacks will be shown in transactions immediately or later on?
It comes as separate email. I remember i bought something from a retailer with a bonus westpac offer and got the standard shopback cashback email and then the secondary "your westpac bonus" email came through a bit later. So the cashback amount is calculated separately as the standard CB % on the total and then the bonus CB % on the total, it's not the standard + bonus combined % if that makes sense.
Patience please
same
Same
Same with me tried one transaction of $150. Will try again once this one tracked.
Same. My purchase was made 10 hours ago, but the bonus 5% still hasn’t been tracked so far. I also clicked on the button from the Westpac lounge Coles bonus 5% page to go to Coles gift card page, and purchased gift card there.
Same! Anyone got the 5% tracked yet?
Anyway to use coles GC online?
Any way.
And, no.
Better off utilising the cashback on new StG/BOM/BSA accounts as you can use it online.
Good deal if you can't though
What do you mean by this? How does that help with shopping at Coles?
Thanks
Im confused too
Confused three, please explain for this n00b @OZBMate8911
@McMaferMur @yoquierotaco @We
For example st george
Thanks for explaining. That was a good deal, but I opened my St George account too early. I don’t think I’m eligible for it as an existing customer. :(
How is it 2025 and one of the biggest supermarket chains in Australia still doesn't accept gift card as payment for online purchases.
Welcome to Australia
I think the reasoning is as follows:
What are you gonna do about it, go to their one competitor who is equally bad, or worse?
Woolworths has everyday pay which auto used any loaded gift cards with a QR code. Then one day it has an issue and they pulled the whole thing.
The issue was fraud. I think Woolworths systems are far superior. It's way easier to buy discounted gift cards, easier to use them and easier to track them. They also make it easy to track your spend against their bonus offers and I never have to chase them for missing points.
@bargain_knight: True. Woolworths will show points earned on the docket, so you can check immediately. Flybuys website/app take around 24h to update.
It's deliberate, preventing you double stacking promotions + GCs
Because they're using an ancient IT system. That's also full of various loopholes :) .
I'm listening…
yes yes go on. DM if required.
Any apps to keep track of spend n balance?
i use my mrs. free (looks like free but actually the opposite)
I use Catima.
shows in shopback app.
you just select the giftcard you want to view.
best coles deal for a while
got $500, thx OP
Bought a fair bit, tracked the 1%, still waiting for the Westpac 5% to track.
Me too. Is that normal?
Sometimes does take a while, hoping its the case here.
Finally came through today morning.
Waiting for people to confirm bonus has tracked before purchasing 🙏
Same
Relax people, it will track.
Last time Coles offer in December as an example, Westpac was tracked overnight. Good things come to those with patience
Edit: and different higher value cards look like they are quickly running out. $125 is highest available. Maximum of 4 in a purchase
Thanks for the availability info. $125 are gone now.
We want mastercard deal back 🤑
Looks like the max quantity is 10 for 100$ cards. 125 gone now
Sold out already
Not sold out. I've just bought a few of $75 ones.
All denominations above $50 are sold out. Looks like max of 10 per transaction.
Haven't seen a good saving on Coles for ages so thanks OP for posting.
Now just hope bonus cashback tracks. 🤞
Anyone’s bonus cashback track?? Nothing on my end- purchased 7am
nothing for me that purchased at 12am
but since this is the bonus cashback directly from shopback (instead of merchant)
I am not too worry
I wonder if Coles will ever figure out how to make their gift cards work for online shops.
Seems strange they don't care about losing that market to Woolworths.
People who remember to actually use their gift cards are probably not the market Coles, or any other gift card vendor, is chasing lol.
cashback tracked
Purchased gift card yesterday at 6:09am, 1% standard cashback tracked after 6 minutes, 5% bonus cashback tracked this morning at 6:30am.
Still only 1% here.
Spoke too soon 5% came at 8:30am.
Bought 8 yesterday afternoon and bonus cashback just came through in dribs and drabs this morning with the final one hitting now at 8.30am.
When does the bonus get paid out?
Up to 5 days, but in my experience likely less. It details all this on shopback
Sill 1% here
Same here bought 3 around 11am, no bonus tracked yet
Reporting back, still no tracked yet. Email their support and have been waiting over a week with no responses
nice deal
