      • No, they are supposed to be separate deals, supposed to be one or the other, but clearly they have discretion!

        • Do you mind confirming which JB store you had the above deal from?

          • @Melbfella06: Macquarie Park Sydney

            • @kkkkccc: Do you remember the sales person's name? I rang up the Mac park jb store but they won't budge

    • Thank you so much for sharing. I’m going overseas in about 2 months. Will I qualify for TRS refund, and when is the invoice generated, on the pick up day or sign up day? Cheers!

      • +1

You do get the invoice with the full price on the signup day. However to claim TRS, u still need to present the goods, so have to wait for the pickup day anyway?

        • Thank you, when does the promo end and when is the easliest pick up?

          • +2

@Melbfella06: Promo ends 31 July from what I can see. Pick Up depends on when it arrives. Pre orders generally get it few days before its available to the public.

          • +1

@Melbfella06: Pickup is from 25th July, staff told me can delay a bit but latest should be 1st Aug. Of course, anything unexpected can happen, but I expect it’d be that 25th tbh

    • Nice work! So you were able to cancel the plan successfully already? I was wondering if anyone had gone through with the cancel before receiving the phone, just to confirm if they are still honouring the OZB method as we know it.

  • Has anyone had any luck getting the following over the line, either instore or via live chat;

    • Flip 7
    • $1450 so down to $349
    • $200 pre register voucher
    • So $150 to pay.
    • Then the $300 gift card also got use at a seperate date?

If not I'll just stick with the HN as I definitely don't need 300gb data per month…

    • +1

Yes, I did that one. You can only do it in-store. The $300 gc will be given on the day of pickup according to staff. I have no proof of it (the invoice only says the phone), but I trust them that it'd work, as it's their preorder bonus.

  • -1

Since the $200 code is expired now, what would be the best available deal now for Fold7 512gb. Could anyone guide please.
    TIA

    • +1

If you received the $200 off Coupon it is valid till 31st July.

    • Probably mixed up with Samsung UNFOLD2025 code that reduced to $100? JB code still valid as mentioned above

      • Does this JB code work for the Flip model? Or just the Fold model?

        • Yes, the JBHifi voucher is valid for both Flip and Fold7

  • What is the price or GST amount on the tax invoice of your Fold7 512GB?

  • Harvey Norman has better deal offered , which $1900 off RRP if porting to Optus $69/m 24 month plan - I have preorder ZF7 1 Tb version at the store . I think HN deal is better than JB one .

    • If you are planning to keep the plan for 24 months then yes Harvey Norman is better deal

  • Hi Everyone,
New to the Oz bargain way. Have a few queries.
After buying a 2$ amay sim, we have to activate it (do a recharge) and before porting to telstra?
After the pre order when can we cancel the telstra no, immediately or after receiving the phone?
My total for 1 tb version is coming to 3349-1800 + 99+ 800 = 2448$, is that right?
I don't have any vouchers or any device for trade it. Is there any other thing i can do to reduce the price?

    Much appreciated.

    • I can answer some:
      * Yes, your amaysim need to be active to be able to port to telstra, so best if u can get something that doesn't need recharge to activate
      * I'm keeping my telstra, at least, until pickup just to avoid problem but I know some did cancel early in the previous threads
      * You don't need to trade-in anything for this deal. In fact, the plan doesn't allow u to use trade-in (though well, depend on staff to interpret it).
      * The voucher works as-is (no need for trade-in), it's just a code, use classified to try ur luck if u don't have one

      • Thanks. I didn't get the last one though about the trade in voucher. Can you explain it.

        Thanks.

        • It's a $200 preorder voucher you need to register last month. Already closed, so can't get it anymore. There's a grey box below the deal description to request if anyone doesn't want to use theirs, but a lot of request

    • I Had a look online and Optus and Vodafone both need a recharge before activating a $2 sim - I had no idea it use to be just the $2 starter sim that can get you a new number. After looking around I think Aldi is cheapest with a $5 sim.

  • What do true ozbargainers do, cancel on day 1 or day 2 and hope for a full month refund, or cancel on day 30 to take full advantage of a month’s usage?

Also, if cancelling on day 1, it shouldn’t interfere with phone pick up right, as they are 2 separate things, 1 is with Telstra and the other JB?

    • Getting $99 refund is getting more difficult, most will say NO. Also you can't guarantee your refund before you disconnect your number. From my experiences, you'd need to disconnect your number first and wait 2 business days to then jump to the chat asking for a refund. If you can use the mobile data, I'd use it for 3+ weeks before disconnecting better than wasting your time asking for refund.

  • Costco Pre order z fold 7 512gb is 2749.99 so maybe worth a shot to try price match option atleast for those who didnt get the 200 JB voucher.

Likewise flip 7 too is 1699.99

    • hmm, with the 200 preorder bonus it was down to 2699. do you think they would price match the base of costco?

      • I don't think they would is what I heard :(

  • So in summary, get the aldi sim, pre activated, buy the phone - switch to telstra, wait till receiving the phone (hopefully before 30 days), then cancel the number before the next 99 recharge and pay 800$.
Is there a possibility that the voucher repayment fee (800$) change or increase next month?
    What is the safer route?

    Thanks.

    • +1

Pretty much. I did it yesterday, but i cancelled my plan straight away since I'm not going to use the data.
Voucher replayment is $766 (pro rata 23/24 months).
I managed to get the $99 first month fee refunded speaking to Telstra, getting a reference number for me to contact JB Hifi mobile via the online app chat for them to refund the $99. I.e. Telstra contact to cancel the plan, and JB Hifi mobile contact to refund the $99.

      • How did you ask for the refund? I remember doing it last year for a similar deal and it wasn't easy. I think I argued with them over chat for about a week until they agreed.

  • Anyone done this multiple times? e.g. for the Fold/Flip 6 and also again for this deal?

    • I did it for the S25 but via Good Guys. It's still Telstra so same process. Just did it yesterday with the Fold 7.

  • -5

I got the fold 7 (512gb) black color for $1,965 (using the optus / harvey norman deal), but having a bit of a buyer remorse now. Am happy to let it go for $1,900 but will have to be in Sydney to meet-up. Item is obviously still brand new in box (sealed).

    • That's a good Price, good luck in selling.

  • Have people done this more than once close to each other. Just did the iphone16 this week. Could I do another plan cancel?

    • yes, the guy at JB will tell you if it works.

  • Just wondering—if I choose the delivery option in-store, will there be any issues with receiving the $300 gift card?

Has anyone chosen delivery and know the details?

    Cheers!

  • Have anyone success to apply trade in voucher, too?

My plan to get 1TB Fold 7:

    3349 - 1800 - 200 (coupon) - 300 (gift card) - 850 (trade in Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold) = 199 pay at the counter

    Then + 766 + 99 = 1064 (Total cost)

Please correct me if I may get wrong.

    • What 300 gift card is that?
300 GC as per ad is for zflip 7 or Zflip 7FE not for the fold to my knowledge.

You may try to ask JB HifI to price match Costco pricing of 3150 before u sign up. No harm giving a shot you could save 200 more

  • Just got the sms to pick my Flip7 up :)

    • What store?

      • Hurstville NSW.

They didn't give me the gift card, said it is available tomorrow. Will be going back tomorrow to get the card :)

        • I didn't ask for GF. I am hoping it will arive in email.

          • +1

@Eddy2021: Was issued the GC for the Flip immediately suggest you check with store again.

            • @ReDDevil2684: Yeah no worries, the staff said she will be there tomorrow to issue it for me, I will be back there tomorrow arvo :)

            • @ReDDevil2684: Oh that's great. I was told you won't get $300 gift card if buying on plan.

              • @viki8702: I confirmed with the same staff twice that I will get the gc before signing up to the Telstra plan :)

            • @ReDDevil2684: Thanks Mate, just collected GC from store.

            • @ReDDevil2684: Just got my gc, happy days :)

  • Got notification ready for pick up JB for both fold & flip

    • What store?

      • +1

I’ve just picked up at essendon dfo around 5pm

        • Damn my store in geelong still hasnt got its stock

    • thats fast.. which state

      • Melbourne south East

        • Damn jealous im in vic too but still waiting to be informed

  • +1

All righty folks! Final tally is in.
    Z7Fold 512GB
    Phone cost = 2899
    Telstra Cancellation = 766
    First Month Charge = 99-85 (refunded) = 14
    Preorder Discount = -200
    Plan Discount = -1800
Gift voucher (upon collection) = -300
Total Cost to buy the Phone = 1379.
    TRS = 245 (if applicable)

    Net cost = AUD 1,134

Actuals is cheaper as I paid 1000 using Giftcards that I got for 20-30% discount price.
That is a smackingly good price I must say.

Can easily FLIP it for more…See what I did there?

    • gift voucher upon collection only applies to the flip not fold.. unless I am mistaken?

      • +1

Yeah that's what it looks like, but when I went to collect the Fold they handed it to me, hey who am I to complain?

        • Can you tell us which store gave you the $300 GC for the Fold?

    • There's an additional $200 preorder discount? I thought it was just the $1800

      • Pre order bonus

  • Signed up for the Flip7. I am one of those people who change phones every 6 months and Fold7 was a too much of a risk as out of pocket payment is still quite a bit (may not be able to recover the cost when I sell it if there is any damage etc).

Wouldn't let me take the phone though, different staff say different things. It sounds like they have it in stock, but couldn't decide if customers are allowed to take it before the official early release of 25th.

Worth noting that the ETC may go up to $1000 soon, based on what a staff member was saying.

    • Yes ETC will go upto 1000 from 800 which I heard is from the 24th.

      • assume that's for new contracts after the 24th so cant apply it to agreements entered before the 24th

      • Damn, is this confirmed? I was going to go in to JB on Friday but sounds like I may have to pay extra if I stick to that plan..

    • I'm also one of those people who change phones every 6 months and make small profit everytime. I also know for those who's buying Fold 7 and tried to churn to a new phone in 6 months, they won't make their money back(my best guess is in 6 months Fold 7 can only sell around $1400~ at best), so still at $300 loss. With that said, I still go for Fold 7 rather than Flip 7.

I'm really interested of using Fold 7 because they have an upgrade that I'm looking for, finally a folding phone that weighs like a regular phone and have flagship quality camera. I love Folding phone but can't stand using Pixel 9 Pro fold because of how heavy it is.

And for Flip phone, I tried Z Flip 6 but I swear to myself never buy a flip phone again. The outer screen is too small to do anything, the camera is mediocre, and the phone heats up easily(just doing GPS while charging will overheat your phone which is useful when I'm travelling)

      • Yeah my situation is slightly different, cuz I can salary package it, and if I take into account reselling it, then I will always make money. When I do the numbers, the tax savings don't cover the upfront cost, whereas with the flip, taking the $300 GC into account, I've already made the profit, and a free phone. So with the Fold, there is a lot more uncertainty for me with the cost recovery when I had to resell it. It's really just about how much risk I am comfortable with - I would rather have slightly less profit than a higher upfront payment and a bigger risk. Also, to add, I've never had any foldable before, and not sure if I can justify such an expensive phone when I know it's easier to break, and has higher depreciation. Just giving it a go at my first foldable! If I like it, I will consider the Fold8 next year.

  • What happens when I cancel my plan early?

You’ll need to repay Telstra for any vouchers you received when you purchased your plan. The Voucher Repayment Fee (if applicable) is pro-rated, equal to the total amount of the base voucher divided by 24 and multiplied by months (or part months) remaining in your plan term

You sure this works? What i saw on cis as above seems like we coughing all out

    • Its $769 termination. I did it last night

      • What's the easiest way to cancel? Couldn't figure out how to do it online. Do we just do it over live chat?

        • You can also port out, if you wanted to keep the number.

          • @aveeno bb: I don't really have any interest in keeping it at this stage.

  • Please share if you received 300 gift card for fold 7. This seems happing multiple times.

    • You mean Flip 7? There's no Fold 7 bonus GC even if you buy outright

      • There are people who received a $300 gift card for the Fold 7. Some stores initially said the Fold 7 had it as well.

        • It's probably out of pure confusion as there are so many stackable deals and JB staff aren't always across all the rules.

        • Hmm, i dont see any comment here saying they got $300 GC from Fold 7(correct me if im wrong). So even if some people got it, its probably pure mistake and usually only happen on the first or second day of the deal, pretty sure by now all JB staff are already aware what can be given as part of this preorder deal

  • Just checked CIS, ETC now changed to $1000 instead of $800.

    • It will be interesting if the customers who signed up before the change still get charged $1000

      • Definitely, but i doubt it as their ETC was $800. Hopefully people have copy of old CIS.

      • The new CIS indicated that the voucher value is $800 base, and up to $200 more.

In the plan details, it still shows the voucher value as $800 for me (23 out of 24 months), so it's definitely going to be the old $800 when I cancel.

        • I got an invoice for $766.59 after cancelling, is anyone actually getting $800 ?

      • +1

I believe that if they have already charged and invoice you for upto 800 I don't think they can charge the balance 200 now.

        • Can some share old CIS which shows $800?

          • @Ash-Say: Thats received when you sign up. I am sure those who cancelled must have already received the cancellation fee invoice and can confirm the amount.

    • I guess the party is finally over for JB mobile deal.

      • +1

It's worse off by $200. Possibly still a good deal.

        • +1

We'll see on the upcoming deal if the deal is getting worse or not. At the moment with $1000 repayment fee, most people will probably no longer churn phone every 6 months or getting this deal then straight selling it to marketplace.

Its still a good deal for those in need of a new phone, i agree with that

  • this or harvey norman for TRS
