would be a better deal if it came with 4 batteries, 2 chargers, and a drill

Would be best if they were $19.98…..

what is their RRP? I thought they would be this similar price no?

      no

    • No idea, the only time they have been available before was this deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/889271

That was a promo and were only available for about 5 weeks. For comparison, but the sealed compact 4.0Ah batteries are $99 each. Same battery, just the ones in this post are not sealed.

Yeahp, just the other week, I've seen tons of the twin pack of 4.0s at 99 too in my local Bunnings. So definitely a regular cycle.

      • Different product.

    • Can OP help me understand if there's anything besides slight weight reduction to make it worthwhile sacrificing an extra battery with the 3 pack.

      • +1

I have both types and in real world usage I haven't noticed any difference in performance. I believe the 21700 cells are supposed to run cooler and suffer less voltage sag under heavier load though.

Besides the slightly lower weight they are more compact, Which is why I like them. Bonus is they also take up less space to store, as I keep my batteries in a drawer in my tool trolley.

The compact is about 7mm wider, 8-9mm longer and about 16mm lower. Pic of both. https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/309005/122846/batt_com…

So if the smaller size and slightly lower weight aren't of any real benefit to you, I would say just buy the std ones.

Thanks for the reply, i see it has a place in the ecosystem

  • The 5Ah batteries are the bees knees. Argh argh argh argh

  • What's the best charger for this battery ?

    • +1

Any of the Ozito PXC chargers will work, but they do differ in how fast they charge. The small one is quite slow for example.

I just use the dual charger as it came in a kit, happens to fit into a space on my charger wall, and it has reasonable charge times
