    Spent $599 on a Q7 with no dock two years ago, and I remember that being a great price back then. This deal looks awesome, I want the auto-empty dock, but just got a 77" OLED, don't think I'll be able to convince the wife 😅

    Love the Q7, wish it could detect small pieces of clothing, shoe laces, bath mats. If so I could just run it on the whole house every day without fear. Currently I only run on lounge room and kitchen and it usually won't get tangled on anything. Have a button in my kitchen integrated with Home Assistant, after dinner press that button and the robot comes and does the kitchen. Automating was the best thing I ever did with it.

    Upgrades I'd like would be auto-empty dock, mop that automatically raises and lowers depending on the room and wouldn't mind something more resistant to hair tangles. Guess if I don't get this I'm waiting out for a flagship deals in a few years.

    I love this robot, it’s great. Functionally no different from the S7 max ultra that we had before
    But I’ve never used the mop function

    With the auto empty dock, does it have bags that you have to replace? Can you just empty them and reuse? How often you have to replace them?

      It has bags. When full, you have to throw away, and replace with a new bag.

      You can empty it manually. I had to do that when we had cats and the fur stopped everything getting sucked up. But was easy to empty.

      If you caught it before it returned to the dock and worked out how to stop it auto-emptying, I guess you could choose to always empty it manually - if you're looking to save the world one vacuum bag at a time.

        You can buy bags with zips off aliexpress. Much easier than trying to empty a standard bag through its little opening

    I don't trust these companies anymore, they can bork your robovac at any time, and suspect that's what's happened to my S5 Max that now gets continuously trapped in the middle of the floor with nothing around it, or just moves around in circles like a madman even though I've specified a room or zone to clean, something that it could previously do flawlessly. I've just given up on it and instead use my Dyson stick vac to do a vacuum. What a shame, it was useful for only 2 years, and that too only a couple of times a week at the most.

    I got one of these late last year to replace out old Xiaomi S5 . Aka roborock.

    It's brilliant. We only use it for vacuuming.
    Run it on the hard floors 3 times a week and carpeted areas once a week.

    Replace the bags around every 2 months or so.
    Bought a heap from Amazon.

    Crazy price today.
    Would recommend.

    Great for carpets, cleans really deep, but not the best option for mopping as it doesn't autodetect carpet and doesn't vibrate the pad.
    For mopping, the Ecovacs is probably the best value, but IMO is still way to expensive and still does a poor mopping experience.
    Laugh all you want but the Dyson WashG1 does a good job, but still can't beat a cheap Shark Steam mop from Good Guys Commercial.

    I've tried many automatic vacuums and mops, but at the end of the day, quicker and easier to use a Dyson Stick and a $89 Shark Steam Mop.

    Wife does like the pretty patterns the automatic vacuums leave, and they can clean really deep. IMO the vibration is just as important as suction power, especially on carpet.

        Good choice, the S1 pro is great for mopping from memory it doesn't heat the water so won't sterilize but cleans really well and dries.
        So for mopping much better than this deal.
        This is less than half the price so not bad value.
        The biggest difference you may notice is the S1 pro has much better obstacle avoidance particularly small objects, cords, cables. But price wise this is a great deal for carpet only.

    Can't see it mentioned in the posts and not sure if this is widely known, that Q8 Max+ is end of life. I bought one (for my bro), doesn't worry me, 12 months warranty still no doubt. Just mentioning in case it's an important point of consideration for anyone.
