I think my math is right, let me know if not and I'll fix it.

    • Doesn’t look like PAYTOPD can be used :(

      • +3

It says it can't be used, but still subtracted it from the price for me.

      • 5% cashback could justify

      • It says it doesn't accept the code but when you go through the checkout it applied it for me

        • How did you apply it? I add it to cart, go to checkout and try the code and it doesn't work.

      • -1

can confirm it didn't work and should be removed from this deal

        • +2

I can confirm it did work 🤣

  • +1

    DAMN VERY CHEAP

  • +2

Considering it's got the auto empty station included it's a very tempting offer to upgrade. Love my Lubluelu fleet but the AES is always clogging or the bag needs adjusting in the bin.

    • my Lubluelu - which i bought in June 2024 - recently started clicking. I'm going to reach out to them on ebay to see what they can do. This is very tempting.

      • Lol good luck

        They are hopeless

        Two replacements. Both doa

      • My SL60D seems objectively worse after their recent firmware update, I'm disappointed.

It keeps getting perma lost and I have to manually reset it to a prior saved map. I can't be sure but the cleaning path algorithm seems slightly worse too. It seems to take strange paths around table legs etc

Chinese software is not up to scratch

          • +2

@freeb1e4me: Isn't roborock (and pretty much every auto cleaner) also chinese?

      • mines been crap as well, I miss my deebot

  • +1

    Nice pickup OP, got one!

  • +2

How would this compare to my s7?

  • +6

    Not good reviews, beware!

    • +2

Really? I thought this unit was reviewed quite well. What’s the common issue?

      • Mixed reviews. I'm so conflicted! 😭

        • +18

I have had this since December so I guess I can give you an honest review.
Its definitely a decent robovac. Rarely bumps into things, sensors are great, all in all a great little mid range machine.
App works perfectly and for bags and mop pads its easy to get cheap third party replacements.
The mopping function is the only real weakness, it just drags a wet pad behind it so its a basic mop but does the job. If a perfect mop isnt all you are after this is a great little machine at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend to friends and family for a robovac that wont break the budget!
You could get a more high end machine but I would think this is the best machine you could get under $400. But purely just my opinion…

          • +1

@Puglife: Thank you buddy. Not planning on a mopper. May do the job.

          • @Puglife: It won't raise up the mop for carpet hey? You have to manually detach?

            • @bleeder: Yes it needs to be detached. Probably another minor inconvenience. Although detachment is very simple. I usually just place it on top of the dock after each use to allow to dry.
However just yesterday I mopped after an animal accident but forgot to lift the bathroom mats and heard it stop and "error" after getting stuck while attempting to mop the hell out of my bathroom mats. Again, minor inconvenience but I still think for the price you really can't complain. Just depends on your needs I guess.

              • @Puglife: I have the Q7 and I never use the mop because I have to specifically attach it, automatically raising it up is a game changer for me. The job it does just dragging the cloth around I was actually happy with, it's manually messing around with it I won't do. I have all these home assistant automation and my vacuum runs without me thinking or interfering, I just empty the bin every few days. The less intervention the better.

  • Talk me out of buying this

    • +7

Here's a more expensive one with a larger discount 😁

      • +4

Damn you!! I came in this thread because of a cheap $300 vacuum, now I'm stuck with a purchase of a $600…

        • If you're doing this, you could also go for the Dreame L20 Ultra. Looks like an all time low as well according to Camels

      • How often do people change the water in the mop?

      • +1

Do the mops lift up automatically for carpet on that one? Have the Q7, because I have to manually attach and detach the mop I never use it.

Also I've never heard of that brand, how is it compared to Roborock?

Hoping you know this stuff cause you knew about the deal haha.

      • Some people have a special place in hell. One is for sales people like u. Mate u would be an awesome salesman. Just spent $600. Thanks

      • This is meant to be a joke are people seriously buying it?

For those thinking this is a good deal, the T30 Omni was $600 a few days ago…

  • Wtf, that’s really cheap.

  • +4

This or Lubluelu SLD60 with the dock?

    • I'd like to know this as well!

      • Same here

  • +1

Will this scratch polished shiny tiles?

  • +2

With no mop washing dock there isn't any point mopping with this, unless you're washing the pads every 10-15mins otherwise you'll just be dragging dirty pads around.

    • +10

I just bought like 30 mop pads as I'm too lazy to wash them constantly.
I guess hence the reason I got a robovac as I'm too lazy to vaccuum too.

      • Do you change them every 10-15mins? I've got an older one with the washing dock and the pad is filthy after 10mins in a house where it is done a few times a week, shoes are off and no pets.

        • I use one pad for the whole run. Just do the kitchen/living area, hallway, laundry and bathroom. I do it usually twice a week. I have multiple pets.
The pad does get dirty sometimes and I have to touch up a few spots with a wet paper towel but otherwise its fine and I'm happy enough with it.

      • 😅

      • Could you please share where you got your spare mop pads from? Thanks

  • +2

This or Dreame L10s Ultra (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/914974)?

    • The up votes convinced me to get Roborock

      • +1

Almost did with me too until I read it doesn't have auto mop clean :( mopping is the main reason why I want one

    • L10s seems to have extra dirt and clean water tanks which I prefer. I guess I'll wait for it to come down further.

    • +1

If you want decent mopping then it's a no brainer IMO. The Roborock drags a stationary wet cloth around, whereas the Dreame has two spinning mops that it can clean itself

      • +1

Agreed.. I upgraded to one with rotating and auto clean mop and it's a massive difference in cleanliness and manual labour.

      • Can it lift the mops up automatically for carpets though? If I'm attaching and detaching the mops manually like with my Q7 then no point having mops. Retractable mops would be game changer for me though. Don't even care if it's just dragging a wet cloth, I want it to lift it up automatically for carpets. Dragging wet cloth is better than what I have now which is mop every 3 months haha.

I have a Roborock and find it reliable, bit weary of going to other brands in case they're not as good.

        • The L10S Ultra can lift the mop 7 mm on carpet. Other models like the L20 ($799 at the moment), can automatically drop it's mops off at the base before cleaning carpet and can also lift 10.5 mm.

Yeah Roborock is probably the best of the robot vacuum brands based on what I've read. I have a Dreame and haven't had issues personally.

    • +1

I've had both and the L10s ultra has way more features its not even a comparison. What can compare to the L10s is like the roborock qrevo L

  • +3

farout, i spent $650 on this last december

  • +1

Is this worth upgrading from a Q7B?

  • Edit code i used bfore on another ritem i hd no idea

  • Thanks OP! Code worked for me nut I had to use the amazon app instead of amazon.com.au

  • Does anyone know if I had a roborock on our upper level, and one on our lower level.. Would the app be confused? Can I run 2 of the same device with the app?..

Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can share here!

    • +3

      All good everyone!
      Google says yes 😎👌
      $399 poorer now..

"Yes, you can use multiple Roborock robot vacuums within the same household and control them through the Roborock app. Each robot can be added to the app as a separate device, and you can easily switch between them to control their individual cleaning schedules and settings."

    • +3

I have a different model of Roborock and you can have different maps on the app, and tell the robot which map to use. And it is super simple to set up.

    • +1

      Yes, I do this with 2x S5 Max's

  • +2

Question - Will this affect the device's longevity??..

"Roborock will offer security update support for the Q8 Max until August 30, 2025. This means that after this date, the product will no longer receive security updates, according to Roborock's official website."

    • +4

What sort of security needed for a vacuum cleaner? Serious question.

      • I'm not a techy..

So I'm just wondering if it'll eventually be unusable due to the lack of security updates?

Idk.. Maybe it doesn't matter at all. I was just making sure this would still be usable in 5 years time…

        • +2

I've got an ancient roborock that hasn't received updates in years.
I moved it to a separate network for peace of mind. If your router is fairly basic but has a guest network, you could probably use that.
If you're concerned that wouldn't be enough, you can probably work out what servers it's communicating with for app control and just allowlist those - block all other traffic in your firewall

          • @Last Seen:

you can probably work out what servers it's communicating with for app control and just allowlist those - block all other traffic in your firewall

Not sure you can do that on guest network

          • @Last Seen: Yes you can create a Vlan but I don't see an issue if a hacker knows your floor plan what's the big deal

      • Unless you want abusive vacuum
        https://share.google/gitWGo6165a4i2gEy

      • Potential hacker get to know your floor plan and use its camera to find out if you are at home then rob your place I guess…. Otherwise use that penetrate your wifi network then steal info via that device heh

    • Probably this is the main reason this model is getting deprecated.

  • Price gone up to $479?

    • +4

Read the first 5 words of the description

      • My bad! Monday brain hasn't woken up yet!

    • +1

Click the coupon. Still works for me.

  • +4

Thanks Op - got it for $375.05.
FYI: PAYTO5 works - it first comes up in red saying something like 'can't be applied' but when you press 'use this payment method' button the additional 5% is applied (it's my first time use of PayToID).

    • Can confirm. I also signed up payto via payid and used the coupon.

    • Thanks upvote

    • Doesn’t work for me

      • Worked for me. Use the app instead, bitch.

  • How does this compare to the Xiomi original robovac?

Ive still got one but barely used it because it keeps gettijg tangled and caugut on rugs etc cant set virtual boundaries

    • +1

This has five times the suction and the auto empty dock. I'd hope it would have less tangles than the OG. I'm still in the original and I'll keep with it until it dies. It's been going six years and counting. We don't have rugs and make sure the house is tidied up before it does a clean.

      • I have all floorboards except bedrooms with carpet I wonder how well this thing works but I bought it anyway

        • Works very well! I'm watching mine clean my floorboards right now - love it. I'm so happy with it that I just bought another one for downstairs! Timber upstairs, carpet downstairs.

  • Bought one to replace an old xiaomi S1. Thanks OP.

  • Does this need internet to work? If yes, why?

    • Yes so you can connect remotely and start a clean or be able to program and set schedules.

It also sends you reminders to your connected device I.e phone when filters etc need a clean/replacement.

      • Can you just hotspot to your phone to set it up initially then turn off hotspot. I don’t care for remote connection. Then possibly hotspot each time I need to manually initiate a clean otherwise it should stick to the initial programming ?

        • It will be able to do full house cleans and spot cleans via the physical buttons, but it won't run on a schedule without wifi.

        • This is how I use mine. I only hotspot during the clean so I can see where it is but you can also just push a button on the robot to start it.
