Not a deal, Honda fixed price model is never a deal. For that size, 52k is a lot, definitely overpriced.

With abit of negotiation or through car buyer services, you can get Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Elite N Line Package - with free mat and full tank.
You might even get free 1st service with them too.
This is a slightly bigger car than ZR-V.
Or just wait for Geely EX5 promotion or similar. Honda is good but not worth that much.

Well said mate, an overly priced car.
I was a Honda lover particularly the Jazz due to its versatility in the “magic seats”. Some idiot decided to discontinue the model to be sold in Australia.

Probably because they can't compete with the cheap crap that flooded the small car market. If people keep buying rubbish, there'll be no other options left.

        • At this logic it is less than rubbish and crap lol. Honda surely has lost in some markets

        • In high school economics this was termed 'market of lemons' (kind of.. it was based on unequal information resulting in the lowest/cheapest possible outcome)

I have only ever bought Honda - had an '03 Jazz VTi-S, sold it for a 2010 CR-V, now back to an 07 Jazz VTi. There isn't a single car new car (that I would buy) that appeals to me. They're all too big, and overpriced for my liking.

    • Loved the geely ex5 comment. And if Tesla drops a bit more the inventory price which is currently 60k for a black 20 inch model y 2025 (not the refreshed one) but with the novated lease you might get for the same price if not cheaper comparing with the savings in fuel prices.

    • Honda's new tech likes radar has quality problem and very expensive to repair.

Why is Honda still available in Australia?

    • +2

      Why wouldn't they be?

    • +1

because they make damn good cars!

I really like Honda, but feel like them, Nissan and Mitsi are in real trouble in the next 5-7 years. Hard to even recommend at this 'discounted price'

When a main selling point is a reverse camera, you're in serious trouble.

True. But you're kidding yourself if you think that all the random new brands that have popped up will be around within that time too. Honestly any brand existing through the length of the warranty is a win at this point. The market is so saturated.

Nissan in trouble financially. Mitsubishi I think aren't in as bad a spot, they have a number of popular models, but will be challenged like all manufacturers by the influx of cheaper Chinese competitors.
Honda just don't see Australia as a key market anymore is my opinion.
You travel overseas and see their popularity and high regard (like USA and Malaysia etc.)
They're not focused on selling to new customers in Aus so much I think, they stay for their loyal owners but they will have a diminishing owner group before they exit.

Isn't the HR-V just a crappy CRV? And the CRV is the same dated SUV platform they haven't done anything with for 25 years? Remember when Honda made fun cars and the Accord was a proper Camry rival, for the land-barge category of vehicles. Now it's just…lost.

    • +5

Didn’t they just release a new model CRV that’s winning a bunch of awards?

      • +1

For people like me, the CR-V is too big, but this ZR-V is simply bad value proposition.

That front end is hideous. Also, the Honda logo always reminds me of old Honda shit-boxes.

    Over price no deal.

for this price. I got my cx5 gt sp 2.5T turbo back in early 2023.

  • They hit a wall with the front end. Yeah lets stay with that design.
Mazzzada cx-5 looks better at the front, barely…. if SUV's are your thing.

You have the Toyota BzX4a or b or whatever it is at $55k all battery.
Then there is the larger Toyota Kluger base mode up around $62k.

And we wonder the reason traffic is louder, larger vehicles and more of em.

The e-hev 2.0 is just a lovely thing.

  • Honda missed the mark with this design
