I don't think checking status really matters. But I think these sorts of features are useful in a home with solar where you could load it with dishes and detergent, close it, and remotely power on when there is peak power, or the sun comes out after a cloudy morning, for example.
Are Samsung dishwashers good? Or long lasting Or should I get a Bosch series 6 (German made).? Would be $100-200 more.
We wanted to go bosch but more bought the samsung for asthetics and matches the rest of the appliances.
Bosch dont look that great but i gather they would be longer lasting.
But honestly i have had my aldi dishwasher for 8 years and its still going strong
So everything is a risk

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I bought a Siemens, wish I’d gone with a model with the auto door opening feature. Leaves the dishes much drier.
$200 is not a significant difference in price for a big ticket item when you consider the longevity you'll get from the Bosch in comparison to the Samsung.
I've had two Series 6s now, not because one died but because we moved house and I wanted another dishwasher that just works.
I love the look of LG and Samsung dishwashers, but the average reported lifespan of them just isn't long enough when you can get something that lasts 10+ years for a very similar price.

I'm not sure that mine is the same model as mine is grey, but the internals and buttons/LED all look the same otherwise.
Got it for $878.40 through Samsung EPP. Just checked now, over $1000.
Long story short, it's really good. We did have a fault after a few months but tech came out and easily fixed. Auto-open door is magic and reminders on our phone to run an appliance clean are great too.

But this is bespoke and for some reason $300rrp more

Code didn't stack with SECRET7. Used code for 5% off through CBANK Yello so it was close enough. They had a discounted price without using SECRET7 Code. Odd

Main AU store, was very specific about it as well. The code worked if I didn't use SECRET7, just didn't stack together. Very strange. The chat support says it probably doesn't stack.
