There has been mixed feedback on JB Hi-Fi renewed.

Just sold m1 mpa from this deal on Facebook and pulled the trigger on this one.

In my honest opinion this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/915542 is better. Roughly about the same price, but this is brand new, compared to a secondhand laptop. One may argue M3 processor is better than M2 processor, absolutely true, but for the general purpose usage, M2 is more than efficient already. Plus, the feeling of opening a brand new laptop from the box is priceless.

Yes i see your point although this refurb does have 512GB storage compared to 256GB.

Bro probably bought the M2 before seeing this which was posted right after, and is now doing mental gymnastics.

        • Renewed. By JB? 🤮

  • what a steal

  • If only M4 was this price refurbished i would jump from my ASUS TUF A15 with R7 5800H/RTX 3060

  • so what’s the deal, JB now sell apple refurbs ?

    • It's not the official Apple refurbs.

Apple's refurbs are expensive but usually in practically new conditions.

  • Just sold m1 mpa from this deal on Facebook and pulled the trigger on this one. —

was this ur first mac. im so loving parts of my m1

    • Because this MBA M3 is cheaper than what you'd get on FB Marketplace by about $400 to $600. Usually you'd find 13" MBA M3 8gb there still sitting on $1200-$1400 and the 16gb version around $1400-$1700, with the 15" adding about $200 to the range. But yeah, absolutely crooked.

      • I see.

I'm really pissed off by some quirks of macOS but mainly the 8gb of ram on the m1 is limiting me a lot. (due to like 300x browser tabs)

        • Yes, and hence why Apple gets deserved hate for their RAM configurations that made them decide to set minimum to 16gb this time around for the M4.

          • @marshmall0w2: I'd be super happy to drop like $800 on a macbook with m3 or newer with 16gb. I'm guessing the next tier is 24gb though aye.

            • @AeymothSky: You can always save up $400 more and wait for a MBA M4 sale (~$1200)

              • @marshmall0w2: Perhaps.

I can consider refunding my $1.2K laptop as well, it's got issues.

      • Yes, $545 for the M1 MacBook Air is a reasonable price, but you’ll likely still end up losing money when you resell. This M3 MacBook Air holds more value IMO when you upgrade to M4 MBA say 1-2 years later. JB also offers 2 years warranty.

      • That's just facebook marketplace in general, can buy new products for less than people want for used ones on there.
