  • Does this package include playoffs?

  • Just tried this code from my Aussie IP and it gave me a $22.50 discount, bringing the price down to $127.99….

The package is for "INTERNATIONAL NBA LEAGUE PASS: Regular Season + Playoffs Subscription"

    Update:
Just tried with a Spanish IP and this deal is legit..!!!

I just signed up for the rest of the year.

    Deal includes playoffs..!!

    • Hmm bit strange for me. On the main page it shows $59.99 but after I get to the next page to create an account it shows up as INTERNATIONAL NBA LEAGUE PASS: Regular Season + Playoffs Subscription
      Any clues why its happening

      • same here - did they fix the loophole somehow?

        • I am having the same problem as well… I am using firefox

  • Have you been able to watch anything yet? What's the quality like?

    • I've had nba gametime before - the quality is tv like quality, it's superb!

      • Depends what internet connection quality you have + device.

on Ipad and Iphone quality is fantastic.
        Xbox Live gametime, reasonable
Laptop via HDMI to tv…reasonable (you can choose bandwidth)

I think the Apple devices have some sort of inbuilt compression.

      • Just to be clear, it is not HDTV quality but is more like SDTV - I've watched US HDTV and it's considerably sharper than NBATV. Of course you will not notice that on screens under about 24".

It's 3MBit/s at best, but that's only available live and for a very short time following the game, then it drops to 1.6Mbit/s which is noticably poorer and IMHO barely acceptable on a 46" TV.

    • Excellent quality, I recommend it.

  • I can't get the proxy to work when I change it for my browsers. Does it have anything to do with my ISP (TPG)?

    • Tools > Internet Options > Connections Tab > Lan Settings then place the Ip address from the link into the address and the port number into the port. If it doesn't work try another proxy. Got mine working :D

      • Thanks, I tried a few other proxies down the list. Was a little slow but got there! Already watching.. Awesome for AppleTV! :)

        • worked for me too but took a while! thanks OP

  • Works with Canadian proxies too, but charged in Canadian dollars which is about 50c extra.

    • +1

Canada only get the regular season, not the playoffs which is why it's cheap there.

  • Can you get the games with foreign language commentary?

  • I thought there was no Apple TV support for Spain

    • You just use the Spain proxy to sign up to nba gametime ( so you receive it at the cheaper price) once you've signed up, you no longer need the proxy and sign into Apple TV just using the account as normal.

      That's my understanding.

      • Correct. Access from an Australian IP and you will have access to all features with no blackouts.

  • So if you sign up using the spanish proxy, then watch without the proxy, everything would be exactly the same as if you had signed up to the Australian package?

    • +1

Yep. Tried it on my phone too.. works pretty well using my new Kogan mobile sim :)

    • Correct. Blackouts only occur if you try watching from a Spanish or Canadian IP.

      • How did you guys pay for it? I tried using Paypal, but they won't accept my payment for some reason.

        • Disable the proxy before you log into paypal.

        • just tried dont disable the proxy when using paypal they will still bill you the australian price

        • I used PayPal. But PayPal thought something dodgey was going on and made me reset my password first. So had to go through the checkout again to complete the payment (using PayPal).

        • i used paypal too i disabled the proxy before logging in and right after got billed the discounted australian price. lesson of the day dont disable the proxy.

        • I'm with you mate. Disabled it at point of Paypal as the transaction was going through. Slaps forehead

  • love my nba international pass. im watching miami vs okc replay as we speak.
    fantastic price

  • How did you guys pay for it? I tried using Paypal, but they won't accept my payment for some reason.

    • Try paying as a "guest" on Paypal (if they allow it), or use a different card if you have 2 registered - Netflix wouldn't take VISA but would take Mastercard, I assume due to locale info being given by Paypal.

  • Good finding and I am watching the HD game now! Thanks OP!!

  • I can't seem to connect to the site (or any site) with any of the proxys, unfortunately.

    • +1

      try this one:

      87.98.226.33:3128

      • Doesn't work for me.

        • +1

Try the proxy listed out here:

          http://www.getproxy.jp/en/spain

I tried the proxy list from OP but all not working, until I found one working from this site, hope it helps

        • Thanks for the link! I couldn't get any proxies working from the OP.

I used 94.23.87.243:3128 to get it to work.

  • +1

You people using the int proxy. Are you setting up a new user ID or using an exisiting one? I tried the proxy thing earlier this year and wouldn't work - I suspect it was becuase of my old user ID which has been used previously as an Aussie one.

    • I used my existing ID which used previously as an Aussie one as well, and it works like a charm!

    • After reading your post i tried switching ID's but unfortunately that didn't help either.

  • yeah no luck on the proxy id

  • Great deal mate - was prevented from getting the NBA pass because of the price. Now I got it bc of this deal.

For those that cannot connect through another proxy - try different proxies and try and refresh the screen - it was the first time I went through this process and I found that I had to refresh the screen a few times throughout the process.

Also note - I tried to connect to the NBA league pass through the NBA iPad app "Game Time" but I get a message that the area I am connecting from is blacked out…

    • Thanks for the tips.
I've tried a stack of the proxys and refreshed numerous times, alas, i simply can't connect.

      • +1

Ok one more tip - When you are in "LAN Settings" unclick "Automatically Detect Settings" and click "Use a proxy server for your LAN" - try that (if i remember correctly that is what I done)

        • Thank you, sir.
Unticking Automatically Detect Settings at least allowed me to see the Spanish price, although the next page still won't load.

I'll keep trying with different proxy's.

    • UPDATE: can access the League Pass on my iPad. No longer getting message that the area I am connecting from is blacked out.

  • So just to confirm, you can pay via paypal and before going to paypal, switch off the proxy settings? I remember the deal at the start of the season using an international proxy, however I was hesitant to put in my payment details whilst still using the proxy.

    • A proxy cannot see the unencrypted contents of HTTPS packets. At best, a proxy can perform a man-in-the-middle style attack, and pretend to be the destination server. However it would need a valid certificate signed by a certificate authority that is trusted by your browser. Your browser should not have the certificate of the dodgy authority installed, and hence, would popup a security warning.

  • Since you already bought the league pass, do you still need to cancel the free subscription (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/91463) to avoid the $150 charge?

Is this price a promotion or regular league pass for spain? until when is this valid?

    • Yes, you need to cancel the free trial. Click on My Packages to do so, otherwise you'll be double charged.

  • I did this at the start of the season probably would of liked it on the down low but oh well.

  • Be careful with this, some countries' league passes do not include playoffs or finals live because some countries have NBA on FTA TV live ("blackout restrictions"). At least that happened previous years. Though that may not be an issue for some, or might not affect you as they may blackout your IP rather than your account based on country.

Last year the price dropped to ~AU$60 2 weeks before finals so it still would be cheaper to go Spain+AU if you wanted to be sure of live finals, than the $150 they want to charge now.

    • When you add it to the cart, make sure it says "INTERNATIONAL NBA LEAGUE PASS: Regular Season + Playoffs Subscription" and you'll be right.

  • That's an awesome deal, I have league pass and it's worth every penny

  • -5

tried every one of those proxies, they just don't work. either the page doesn't load or the main page shows the deal at $59.99 then when i go to the next page it comes up at $127.99 with the discount.

  • Huzzah, finally got it all working and completed.

Thank you to the OP for finding the deal and all those who helped us who had issues.

    You're all pretty awesome.

  • can someone explain a work around when paypal says "Return to merchant and try a different payment method"

    oh so close!

    • can i ask what proxy your using?

      • 94.23.87.243:3128

I get to the point where i am paying the correct $50.30 at the paypal screen

    • That's exactly what I was getting yesterday. It wouldn't let me pay with Paypal, so after about 10 tries, I just decided to pay with credit card.

I wasn't sure if it was because of the proxies that I was using (I used about 6 different proxies).

    • Did you end up getting yours to work with Paypal? If so, then mind sharing how you did it?

      • I just changed proxy and trued again, not it has prompt me saying that I have Paypal limitations. So i have gone into my Paypal account with no proxy and changed my password etc, just in the process now of trying to pay for it again! Hope this helps.

I think if you got the Paypal message that it didn't work, just log into your Paypal account and see if you are limited as you are logging on theoretically from another country using the Spanish proxy.

EDIT: I tried it again to no avail, so i just paid for it with my debit card

  • When does the coupon end? I actually purchased the league pass for $150 yesterday :/
    Gonna ask for a refund.

    • You have 1 week to ask for a refund - you could cite poor performance or something. This price does not look like a special offer to me, and is the usual case of screw the Aussies - the coupon is probably limited time though.

  • isnt 4 monthly payments $10 cheaper?
    $12(after code $10.20) per month for 4 months = $48 (after code $40.80)

    http://i46.tinypic.com/1eov0z.jpg

    bet im missing something..

    • +1

I had that same thought, but I am not sure if the monthly includes Finals or just playoffs.

      • it includes the playoff and final

        mentioned in previous ozb deal
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/79133

should i go with 4 monthly payment? $10 cheaper and i can cancel it anytime

  • Note blackouts do apply to regular season games. 2 of 9 are blacked out today (Sunday USA) and the games are ended. This is not using the proxy/VPN so might apply even if was Aus sub. Game from 4 days ago offered at 3MBit/s so perhaps they are leaving them at the higher bit rate a bit longer this season.

  • None of the proxies are working for me :( would love this deal

  • None of the proxies are working for me. Would love this deal

    • 62.14.237.252:80 worked for me, try that one now

  • got it working after an hour mucking around, so worth it. OP maybe fix www.watch.nba.com link to watch.nba.com

  • +1

Just got it to work using one of the spanish proxy servers from the proxynova website (use the original link at the top) from the previous post

I also used 62.14.237.252 with port 80 in firefox. I had to configure the browser to use a proxy. A good website with pictures is: http://www.wikihow.com/Enter-Proxy-Settings-in-Firefox

From there I just followed the instructions from the original post (select season pass and entering coupon NBAP15GTX354). I registered a new account with an unused e-mail address, and used a visa card and australian address and phone number to register.

    Price was billed at US$50.99…Awesome!!!!

  • Excellent. Confirming it works, too.

I guess we should all bone up on our Spanish in case the NBA calls.

Hola a todos. Parece que funciona muy bien. Una buena oferta!

  • until when is this offer?

  • Worked well once i found a proxy that was quick enough, 2 hours of dodgy ones timing out was painful :)

  • worked!
but i didnt get the option to pay with paypal.
where did you guys find it?

i picked 4 monthly payments. after reading
    http://www.pacejmiller.com/2010/12/26/gretting-ripped-off-by…

it seems a better choice. at least they wont renew my subscription with a FULL season.

  • I Can see the spanish prices but when i go to click on the subscription to pay it changes back to normal price?? $149.99

Does this mean i just have to keep trying different proxies ?

  • 62.14.237.252:80 also worked for me about 30 mins ago. But I have a question, How do we cancel this subscription at the end of the playoffs ? I cannot seem to find the cancellation link anywhere.

    • mine has Season + Playoffs (one time) in my packages tray… I'm assuming yours does too?

      • Yes it does. But I want to know how to go about cancelling at the end of the season ( and playoffs ) as there is no mention or links to show you how to cancel the subscription.

    • Does one actually need to cancel? As i understand it, one is only committing for this season, not a perpetual commitment.

On my account page it says 'League Pass Regular Season + Playoffs (One-Time)' which suggests to me that it's purely for one season, not an ongoing thing.

      • From what I have heard, it gets automatically renewed at the end of the season and on the full price.

  • 62.14.237.252:80 worked me too folks.

Be patient, it took me much of yesterday arvo, night, and then a couple of hours this morning.

  • Thanks OP! Great deal…

After spending a fair while trying to sign up, I changed the proxy to Russia & did it in only a few minutes. Ended up only costing $67.

Figured I could spend hours doing it or spend an extra $17 and have it over with. Gl everyone else, hopefully you can get the Spain one, but if not, Russia is avail.

  • Awesome deal op. Just did it and went through no issue for $50 USD.
    Used proxy: 62.14.237.252 :80

    Thanks!

    • Does the price change also when you click on Per season button or it stays $50USD?

      edit**

Nevermind, i figured it out, if your doing it on mac put the Proxy address in the secure web proxxy(Https)

  • awesome!! worked! mac users make sure you tick both proxy & secure proxy in network settings

  • discount code doesn't work today :(
