700

G'day all,

Back from popular demand, the $139.99 promotion on the Kensington SD5750T Thunderbolt 4 Dual 4K Docking Station - Black is back on (down from our previous sale price $199.99). The promo is valid till Sunday 20th July 11:59PM 2025 or till stocks last. Initial deal

Discount automatically applies at checkout w/ free shipping Australia wide. We also ship to PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers.

Note this is most likely the final promotion for the foreseeable future as securing new stocks has been extremely limited for this model.

We are thankful for OZB community's support and are glad the product has been helping many OZB members with glowing reviews being received from many members of the community.

Product details can be found here.
Note that the product specs mention it is 'designed for surface' however, it also works on Windows 10 & 11 laptops with Thunderbolt 4 port or MacBooks running MacOS Big Sur 11 with Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 port, and other compatible devices.

For mac users, it is also dependent on the chipset of the Mac. For eg: Mac with M1 chipset would only support single monitor functionality. Mac with M1 Pro or M1 Max chipset will support the dual monitor functionality.

Big thanks to @jaUtr65Hme for the below information:

“I've bought this a bit earlier and tested it 100% can be used on MacOS and general windows laptop.
MacBook Pro with M4 + 2 screens no problem.

Also for people asking plug types - AU plug included. Saying included as it comes with ALL major types of plugs even including UK/US/Japan one so it is possible to use it during international travel”

If you are still uncertain, I highly recommend calling Kensington support directly and they can verify the compatibility for you over the phone. Their number can be found below or via link here
1300 881 931 (product tech support) - 9AM - 5PM AEST(Monday-Friday)

We received a good response on our previous deals on this model however there was an uncertainty surrounding this dock based on its compatibility. This has now been cleared with compatibility confirmed across compatible Windows, Surface and Mac devices.

Any queries please feel free to ask below in the comments or DM me directly.

Thank you and best wishes,

Stupid question but.. what's the situation with Ryzen laptops and AM5 motherboards?

    • +3

      Hi @bruhminister,

Not a silly question at all!
The laptop needs a USB4/TB port (For eg many Ryzen 6000, 7040 and later machines) will work. If you can share me your laptop model I can have a look for you.

      Cheers,
      Travis

    • Technically, TB4 is what you want and and can now "upgrade" to it since intel opened up the licencing.
      TB4 supports dual monitor, USB4 doesn't.

The minimum link speed (NOT max) is where the details are. USB 4 minimum link is 20gbps @ 7.4w vs , TB4 is 32 @ 15w..
USB4 has display port 2 and to a single screen can do 8k theoretically. But only a single screen. TB allows for dual screen in the spec, 4k @60hz

I'm guessing this would be pretty decent for my mac mini m4 that I just purchased and need more USB A ports? I don't need portability so I'm happy with it plugged in to power.

    • +5

I bought 2x. One for M1 MacBook Air and one for M4 MacBook Air. Happy with both so far.

      • +1

Thanks for the input. Ordered one today!

    • +3

I bought this last time around for my new Mac Mini M4 Pro.
Works beautifully and Highly recommend it.
Also Horizon Store were Excellent in communication, delivery and support.
Overall ….Great Buy and Great Store !

      • Keen to know what resolutions you running at? My Mac mini m4 I issues running dual screen at 4K and 2k with Dell WD19TBS

      • Awesome cheers! Ordered one. Should give me all the ports i need!

    • You definitely won't need something like this just for USB-A ports on a Mac Mini - your best bet is to just get a simple USB-C dongle, or a USB-C to USB-A hub, or one of those Mac Mini specific hubs which are significantly cheaper than this.

This is more for laptops that would benefit from the one cable connectivity for docking.

      • It's probably overkill. But with most hubs you hear of certain things not working randomly and also the Mac specific ones around this price anyway. So might as well get something with a bit more quality anyway. Either way I've already purchased now so I'll see how it goes. Thanks for the input though.

    Kensington SD5750T Thunderbolt 4 Dual 4K Dock - $139.99 (RRP $599)

Your normal price is $199.99, not $599.

Misleading and deceptive price comparisons are illegal according to the ACCC if you have not recently been selling it for $599…

    (26 May 25 $199.99) https://web.archive.org/web/20250526232025/https://horizonst…

    • +18

      Hi @jv,

      Thanks for raising it.

      Context:
$599 is the manufacturer RRP provided to us directly by the manufacturer (Kensington).
Our original price comparison was against that manufacturer RRP.

      What we’ve changed
      - Removed the $599 reference from our product page.
      - Updated the OzBargain title to show only today’s price, $139.99 delivered.
      - Added in deal description: “down from our previous sale price $199.99”

We’re committed to clear, ACCC compliant pricing and appreciate the community’s help keeping us honest.

We have zero interest in inflating prices or using misleading comparisons. Horizon’s aim is long-term: work with the OzB community to offer genuine, premium products at the sharpest prices we can secure.

If you have any queries or feedback, please do not hesitate to respond.

      Best wishes,
      Travis

      • +3

Our original price comparison was against that manufacturer RRP.

Which is against ACCC law unless you were recently selling it for RRP (ie. just before this current sale price)….
It comes under Misleading and deceptive price comparisons…

If you have a good price, there is no need to mislead on the savings…

Scorptec's normal price for this is $299… So comparing the 'saving' to a $599 RRP is ridiculous.

        • +18

Thanks for the heads up jv. We’ve tightened the listing (title, description and product page) so the price history and savings are crystal clear. Feedback like this helps us keep every future deal transparent - your work is truly appreciated.
          Cheers,
          Travis

Been invited to any parties this weekend, @jv?

          • @UncleRico: Dan Andrew's birthday…
He had to cancel it from last weekend and rescheduled (something about a last minute trip to China blah blah blah…special envoy blah blah blah…)

Who can say no to free beers?

            • +2

@jv: Excellent. Where will you be attending?

Please extend our praise for his exemplary handling of the pandemic. Just don’t mention the Olympics, especially if Lindsay Fox is onsite, again…

              • @UncleRico:

Excellent. Where will you be attending?

                Beijing…

                  @jv: Gotcha.

If I was fantasizing about places to be, a birthday party with Dan Andrews may not quite make my top ten…

                  • @UncleRico: Refusing an invite from Dan many not have the best consequences…

                    • @jv: I wouldn’t break my back.

Sounds like he stood you all up anyways…

            • @jv: China, or had he just fallen down some stairs at a friend’s house?

I got one previously and found that it is supplied with 5 different power cables!

    https://imgur.com/a/iJ67I6p

    • +2

Thanks @PowerPants! We are grateful for Kensington for this as it is a big plus point for anyone looking to travel with their dock.
      Cheers,
      Travis

    • +2

Yep I found it a complete waste of resources to be given 4 other cables I will 99.999% of the time will never use. Really needs to be fed back to Kensington.

      • +4

Thanks for flagging that, @Wokstar. We get that most people will only use the AU lead thus the extra plugs can feel wasteful.

I’ll pass your feedback to Kensington and suggest an “AU only” option for future runs or perhaps amend it to an 'add on' so those who truly require this can have it.

In the meantime if anyone won’t use the spare tips most e-waste drop offs will take them for recycling.

Appreciate the sustainability call-out and feedback. It’s genuinely helpful! We aim to work with suppliers whom ensure ways to cut unnecessary waste and focus on a sustainable future.

        Best wishes,
        Travis

      • -1

        for you
Some of us appreciate not needing to bring a crap dongle that is guaranteed to drop out of a wall socket in the US. Land of everything as cheap as possible.

      • For others it might not be a waste of resources though. Might even be very convenient. Everyone is different.

    • +3

I bought it last time around also and couldn't understand why the package was SO heavy.
The extra cords were the reason !!!

    • +2

Yep. Some bean counter figured it was cheaper to make the box excessively heavy and include every possible mains lead - just so they could distribute a single product globally. It’s so wasteful. We bought it for our office and ended up with dozens of useless cables we can’t even give away.

  • Any feedback on higher refresh rates?

    I have a 34” wqhd and a 27” qhd, both capable of 144hz plus.

My use case is office work (desktop won’t use the dock). I know 60hz is usually ok for office work, but I seem to get less eye strain at higher refresh rates

    • +2

I've got one for M4 MacBook Air + Dell 32 Plus 4K S3225QS. The 120Hz works fine for the Dell monitor.

I use this USB-C to DP cable: https://amazon.com.au/UGREEN-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-Aluminu…

    • +3

      I'm using 4K@120Hz + 1440p@120Hz with this from an M1 Pro MacBook (4K via this dongle https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DCN798Y1)

      • Ah great, sounds just like my use case. Thanks - bought one

      • +1

Thanks for sharing the info Mattacrazy.

To confirm: you are using the above dongle connected to the OP Kensington docking station on your M1 Pro MacBook?

I.e. 1 single USB-C cable connected to your MacBook, then a total of 2 display outputs?

  • Anyone using this with a snapdragon surface pro and any issues?

  • +2

HODL - Thunderbolt 5 is here, this will get cheaper.

  • +5

Wish this had HDMI 2.1 and a 2.5G NIC

  • Is this entering caldigit tier?

    • Yeah I am thinking of ditching my Caldigit TS3+ for this if I can get ~150 for it on FB marketplace. The TS4 still beats this Kensington dock though

      • Well, I got $160 for the TS3+ within an hour of posting it and got this instead. Hopefully it does the job

  • +5

I just can't understand who designed this dock. How do you have this full size dock and then have zero HDMI/DP/VGA ports?

What is the point of a full size desktop dock that needs an adapter for an adapter. This is some serious asinine stuff and wasteful. Not surprised they also throw every single power cable in the box to add further to the waste.

Save yourself the pain and buy a refurb Dell TB4 dock for $180. You don't need to deal with this rubbish.

    • +3

DP and VGA are no longer in vogue

    • I'm using thunderbolt port for dual screens, works well for me. But I can't understand why they can put the 3.5mm in the front, it's absolutely messy when I plug the audio jack in.

My old Dell wd19tbs only last for 2 weeks, so if I have the budget I'll get the HP G4 simply because it looks nicer. Just my opinion.

      • How you use dual screens from one usb thunderbolt port?

        • Dell and HP have an extra usb-c port for display, I plug one monitor in this one. The Kensington on this post has 3 thunderbolt ports, but no extra C port which would be better in some cases.

      • +1

After using a Lenovo USB C dock in the office with a work laptop, having the jack at the front is necessary if you are plugging/unplugging a headset frequently, such as packing into a bag at the end of the day or to take home for WFH duties.

Same applies to having a USB A port and SD Card reader at the front. It's designed for an office environment's needs, not aesthetics.

      • Dell WD22TB4 is also a great option

    • I actually got the Dell TB4 dock from work and they work well with the work laptop.

However for me to use my gaming PC dual monitor setup (24" AOC 24G2 and 27" Gigabyte MO27Q2), I need to always unplug everything to use the laptop.
What's the best way to use both, my 24" only has HDMI whereas the 27" has USB C, HDMI and DP (which is used)?

  • Anyone use it for MBP M1 Max with PD?
not sure if 90W PD is enough to power the MBP?

    • +2

90w is plenty, have never noticed it discharging even on a 60w dock.

    • +2

I can charge my MBP 16" with the 65W adapter, no issue.

  • +1

Really happy with mine so far.

Will be upgrading to an Apple M5 once released so may need to upgrade the dock to take advantage of the Thunderbolt 5 functionality and push monitors to the limit.

Would recommend for anyone interested in it.

    • Thank you for your support @Gradesbrah,
It is truly appreciated. Have a great rest of the day.

      Best wishes,
      Travis

  • I was surprised to find the kit so heavy.

    • My best guess would be so that it doesn't get pushed/dragged around the desk when plugging/unplugging cables.

  • Bought one. Will be used (by my better half) with M2 MacBook Air and Dell S2722QC. Thanks OP.

  • Do you know whether these work with XPS to power delivery? They do have TB4 but I'd like to know whether I can solely rely on this to output 2x 4K as well as input power to laptop (similar to dell own tb4 decks do).

  • Thanks Op, ordered 2. One each for me and my wife. Cheers

can this be used as a KVM so I can share mouse/keyboard between a PC and a macbook?

  • Any advice on USBC>HDMI cables to improve refresh rate? Only getting 30Hz

    • USBC to HDMI cables don't come with any inherent losses or gains over straight HDMI cables. If you are only getting 30Hz at a 1080p then something is probably not communicating properly. If you are only getting 30Hz at 4k then either something is not communicating properly or you've got a very very cheap cable.

      • It could be very cheap cable..it was off amazon

  • Hello. Does this come with the 3 year warranty if we purchase through you, and is the warranty dealt with by Kensington themselves?

  • shows as $199 now. party over?

    • +1

Need to go to cart for the updated price. Deal looks like it's still active

      • perfect thank you

  • I just wanted to confirm with this, I have a pair of Dell S2721QS - I would need to get 2x HDMI to USB C cables to then plug into the dock?

  • If I want to switch between a Lenovo and a PC without replugging, is this the right device?

  • Similar to the above questions, but my monitors are a bit older lol (DP, DVI and RGB)

Would this dock work if I had two of these cables (UGREEN 8K@60Hz Unidirectional USB C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable 1M 4K 240Hz Type C Thunderbolt 4/3 to Dp Cord 32.4Gbps)

  • Great service, arrived within 48 hours of purchase

  • Received this after ordering…

    I hope you're doing well.

I'm reaching out to share an update regarding your order. As you know, we recently ran a special promotion on Kensington products, which received an overwhelming response. Due to the high volume of orders, the item is currently oversold.

Please rest assured that we’re actively working with our suppliers to resolve this. We kindly ask for your patience, and we will provide you with an update within the next 2 business days.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    • +1

      Hi @JamesBingo,

I sincerely apologise for the issue. Our Shopify system allowed orders to flow through even after the item had sold through.

We are working closely with Kensington to procure any oversold items and ship it to you ASAP.

We will upgrade any affected order to Express at our cost to allow for prompt delivery and will keep you posted with updates.

Again, please accept my sincere apologies.

      Will be in touch.

      Warm regards,
      Travis

"a poor workman blames his tools"

        • What would an ingrate do when offered a timely response, genuine anpology and reasonable explanation?

          • -3

@UncleRico: Who is truly at fault here?

The customer who trusts the advertised product and assumes Shopify’s stock control works properly?

Or the seller who lists more inventory than they can actually fulfill?

I made my purchase in good faith. Yet the lack of options, solutions, or satisfactory outcomes shows a clear disregard for that trust.

            • -1

@JamesBingo: Who is truly at fault here?

The whiny, entitled ingrate who purchased multiple times, needed spoon feeding after being unable to follow the instructions to get the discount in cart, received a personal commitment from the seller to source more and express post them when more stock was received, but still had the temerity to complain and squeal like a victim. He’s at fault for lowering the collective goodwill of humanity.

I get that you feel you haven’t received what you are owed, but out of interest, what was the last deal you posted or even upvoted?

              • -2

@UncleRico: So I’m ungrateful for doing exactly what a consumer is supposed to do?

Do you live in some alternate reality where this logic holds up?

Classic deflection - you can’t justify your misplaced anger, so you attack my contributions, which have nothing to do with this seller’s practices. And since you’ve made no effort to disclose any connection to them, I have to ask: what’s your real agenda here?

But sure, since you’ve clearly scoured my profile looking for ammo, go ahead - take your last word. I’ve already wasted enough time on this seller, and far more than you deserve.

                • @JamesBingo: Yes, you are exceedingly ungrateful. Not only did you not show any appreciation for the seller for your multiple historic purchases, you didn’t even have the decency to upvote the deal. Nevermind showing an ounce of appreciation for his subsequent offer to bend over backwards to express post you more product.

Deflection is when you change the subject to escape scrutiny. Pointing out that you whinge about what you’re entitled to despite historically offering negligible deals or even upvotes is proof in the pudding, not deflection from it.

I don’t have any disclosure over my association with the seller - since I have no relationship with them. Unless you think I’ve been secretly masquerading behind my alter ego for the past decade, all the while waiting to expose you for your lack of basic manners.

Nor am I seething in anger. I’m just really disappointed in the sense of entitlement I witness in so many people who contribute nothing. I don’t like having to explain to my child why someone is rude because they can’t indulge basic please and thank you’s when served at a shop or restaurant. I just hope they grow up knowing the difference between common courtesy and a grub…

                  • @UncleRico: "Tell me again that you have no association or vested interest in this - maybe I’ll believe it the second time.

Just for the record, why would I upvote a deal before receiving the goods I paid for? Do you leave eBay feedback for undelivered orders? Or do you just spend your time trolling through the OB site, criticising what you call 'exceedingly ungrateful' users - many of whom are frustrated after poor sales management and a failed promotion?"

But I digresss…my reason for replying to your dribble…

"Thank you for your patience. It is truly appreciated.

We wanted to update you regarding your order. We are still working with our supplier, but unfortunately, there is no guarantee on stock availability at this time. If available, the expected restock period would approximately 1 to 2 weeks.

Please let us know whether you’d prefer to wait or proceed with a cancellation and refund.
If you choose a refund, we will provide a full 100% refund along with a 10% store credit and free express delivery on your next order, as a sincere apology for the inconvenience you had to face.

If you choose to wait, we will keep you posted with updates every 24-48 hours.

At your earliest convenience, please kindly confirm how you’d like to proceed?"

                    • @JamesBingo: Who posted, “Good product, felt guilty that they ship a kilo of international cables which I've no need for”, before claiming they couldn’t upvote a product which they (pretended they) hadn’t received?

Liars and ingrates need good memories…

                      • @UncleRico: I don’t wish to blow your mind, but we’ve purchased this product, wait for it, from others providers previously. Hence why we wanted to grab some more but sadly we were met with a good ‘shopify error’

Do you think the bargain was listed and delivered on the same day…

Comedian, even for a sad troll.

You’re just a miserable being…A post ever day for more than a decade…

                        • @JamesBingo: Angry little ingrate caught with his pants down.

You posted in their last post about buying this product from them, fibber. Or were you lying when you complained about how “they” shipped you a kilo of cables you didn’t need, when you’d bought them from someone entirely different?

Whining for ten years without a single thank you or upvote. Leech away, Entitled Jim…

  • I received mine yesterday after TeamGE gave me a bit of a runaround with delivery. Have started using it from this morning and I'm having a terrible time with it.

MacBook Pro 16" M4 Pro. I have two 4k monitors plugged in via USB-C, and have a few other USB peripherals - a mouse dongle, speakerphone, webcam and a streaming light (Logitech Litra Glow). The Kensington is plugged directly into the wall and not into a shared power strip.

Every few minutes I was getting a warning on MacOS stating that USB devices were disconnected for using too much power, so I unplugged one, then two, then all peripherals. I've now got nothing but the two monitors plugged in, but every 10-15 minutes, my 4k screens revert to 1080p for 1-2 minutes at a time, then revert back to 4k.

Overall, very disappointed with the product experience. Unless it's a bad thunderbolt 4 cable that shipped with the product (which I can't test without buying one as I don't have a spare), I have to say this is a POS that surely never retailed for $599.

Continuing to troubleshoot but I might need to test your return policy soon…

    • Just to add, I'm trying what is discussed on Reddit here right now to see how it goes: https://www.reddit.com/r/UsbCHardware/comments/10edgq5/issue…

Basically, unplug everything, wait, then plug the docks power back in. Then the TB4 cable to the laptop. Then other devices. Here's hoping…

EDIT - nope, within 15 minutes I'm back to 1080p. I don't think this dock is very good.

        Hi @Galvatron,

Thank you for the honest feedback about your experience. This is not the experience we want any of our customers to have.

Let me have a look tomorrow with my team what cable specs are being shipped in the box. We should rule out an ‘incompatible cable’ first as I believe that would be the main cause of this issue.

Rest assured, we are here to help and not to worry in case of any issues like this.

        I’ll reach out tomorrow.

        Have a good night.

        Thank you,
        Travis

        • Hi,

Thanks for the response, and I'll clarify that I'm not worried just confused and disappointed with the product, not your store or service.

I'll be testing with a new TB4 cable later today, in case the cable in the box was potentially damaged, but so far it seems that the dock just isn't capable of running 2x4k monitors like advertised.

@Galvatron: No worries, that sounds great. Please keep me posted how you go.
If it isn’t too late, I would recommend trying with a Display Port cable rather than HDMI as they tend to have better compatibility with higher resolutions.
Look forward to hearing from you.
            Thank you,
            Travis

            • @Gravitech: Hi mate, was just in the process of replying a follow-up :)

The new TB4 cable seems to be much more stable, though I haven't plugged everything back in - just the two monitors and the webcam. So far in almost 2 hours of use, it is stable which is a huge improvement.

If this plays out for the rest of the day, I am going to suspect that the TB4 cable in the box was potentially damaged. That would be the only feedback for Kensington, that they might want to review how often this occurs and if it happens more than acceptable they can consider bundling a more robust TB4 cable with their docks.

It's probably just my bad luck in this instance, though I will follow-up again in a day or two to let you know if it's 100% solved or not.

Also - I did email you guys yesterday as well, you will probably easily be able to tell which email it was :) Feel free to ignore that.

              @Gravitech: Hi,

I have had two solid days with an aftermarket TB4 cable off of Amazon, so it looks almost certainly like the cable that came with the dock is either not up to it or more likely was damaged.
