Ffalcon 75" U65 LED Google TV (2025) $799 ($789 with Perks) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

150

This is the 2025 FFalcon LED - Different to the 2024 version, so it brings updated UI, a more refined finish and Dolby Audio.

The FFalcon is manufactured by TCL - FFalcon is TCL's sub-brand and is made in the same factories.

Yes, this is a budget TV, but if in the market it's a great deal and the cheapest it's been so far.

Remember to get the $10 perks voucher to get the $789 price.

TGG also matches the price - remember, JB and TGG are owned by the same parent company, JB HiFi limited.

I don't trust a brand that can't even spell their name properly

    • Throw a "u" in Qantas and you get Quantas. lol

  • Do not buy this. Ffalcon was the worst viewing experience I ever had for a tv.
YMMV but I returned mine the next day.

    • Was this a recent purchase, and can you elaborate on the problems you had with the TV?

    • +2

I bought the 55" a few weeks back as a spare and have been very impressed for the price. Much better than the Hisense we have that was twice the cost.

      • +1

I was thinking the 55 seems the right price / risk profile.

    • Let me guess. The TV was in a crappy picture mode such as a low power mode out of the box. And you failed to switch it to a high quality picture mode.

My TCL TV always defaults to low power picture mode from factory default. And I have to switch the picture mode to get better picture or else it looks like crap. It's probably the same with Ffalcon TVs.

      • Nah, I had changed it out of that mode, it was just was not a good quality picture and I wasn't happy with it. When I returned it the sales assistant said that they had a lot of returns for that model, he literally said "you get what you pay for".

This was like 4 years ago though, hopefully the company has made some improvements.
Either way, as I said, your mileage may vary, this may be good for a second tv or a tv for the kids??

  • These are cheap I guess for a TCL associated TV. Any other reviews or accounts from ozbargainers from recent purchases? I wonder how it compares to the bottom rung TCL TV?

    • Everyone has a different perception of what is acceptable picture quality, so best to go in store and see it for yourself. But definitely adjust the picture settings as the default retina-burning setting that stores use is not representative of what you will use at home.

  • Any advice on whether this is my solution for my Soniq 75' HD that the backlight has just gone.

For $140ish more you can get the 75inch refurbished sony from ebay delivered

      • Interesting, Got a link handy?

        • +3

It's the K75S30 for $1298 on the Sony ebay store but they have a 20% off coupon code that stacks with ebay plus $100 off to bring it to $938.40 delivered. Not sure what the ffalcon delivery cost is but I'm sure it ends up being within $100 difference. I can't comment on how good a sony refurb is but some people have implied it can sometimes be old new stock.

      • Yeah, Never again will I buy a sony refurbished. Bought a 65" around 4-5 years back. What they delivered was a TV with electric tape on the power lead covering a split in the cable and when turned on, the screen was faulty and flickered all over the place.
Took ages for them to accept the return and then they accused me of receiving 2 TV's, which was total BS. They called me weekly over 3 months asking where it was. I ended up reporting them to ACCC.

How's the free second TV? Any faults? 🤣

          • @0 0 0: Wish I got a second one.

@tokimonkey: Delivery guys need TVs too you know :-). Serious though, it is so hard to correct something gone wrong these days. I recently got good aftersales aervice from Cash Convertors and it just freaked me out.

      • Ordered the Sony. Seems like a good deal. Thanks for responding.

    • Cheers, funnily I've had more fault issues with Sony than Soniq. But I don't mind refurbished, as once my Sony was fixed it's had long life.

I bit the bullet and put my wallet where my mouth is.

Purchased and installed today. Got TGG to price beat to $750.

Fit snuggly in a 2016 Ford Territory, rather than pay the delivery charge ($60). Setup was pretty easy and so far am very happy with the unit.

    • That's ten dollars an inch. Just wondering out of curiosity does it have any local dimming features in the menu. Unlikely but I thought id ask.

      • +1

The settings allow for quite a bit of manipulation, but no. The U65 has no local dimming (no hardware-based zone dimming like higher-end models). It has 'black level' and 'dynamic contrast' modes that simulate dimming with software tricks.

          Thanks for checking.

Upright or flat? Do you have the dimensions of the box?

      • +1

Flat - not ideal, but it was a perfect fit. Remember though, 2016 Ford Territory.

The box dimensions for the Ffalcon FF75U65 (75-inch, 2025 model) are approximately:

        Box Dimensions (W x H x D): 1840 mm x 1120 mm x 190 mm or (184 cm x 112 cm x 19 cm)
