  • What happens after 5 years?
Why the bug difference between rate and CR?

      1. You go back to the default variable rate (around 5.6%)
      2. The CR assumes you never refinance and pay the normal variable rate until it’s done. So most of your loan over a few decades is at the 5.6ish rate

@MyBrothertheBroker Any updates on the clean energy renovate loan?

    • +1

Last i heard was they were looking to relaunch the product. However they still dont have an eta and womt be offering it through their broker channel.

Additionally criteria may change regarding what renovations is required.

@damnable enigma is correct in will go back to 5.6X% however it should be lower as rates have been forecasted to drop as Bank Australia have historically passed on cuts to customer's. Additionally we can look at refinancing close the 5 year mark.

      • The previous criteria were a bit ridiculous for those of us with gas - you had to completely electrify as a base criteria. Whereas existing electric houses just had to install some ceiling fans or some shit.

Did you mean 5 year "fixed"? Not variable

    • +1

No, its variable for 5 years at the reduced rate. I'm on their old renovate product which is currently 4.88% variable for 5 years. They track the RBA changes then apply the additional reduced rate offset.

We tried to sign up with Bank Aus when we bought our place but they took so long to approve it we had to go with another bank who did it in literally one day. Keep meaning to switch over to them at some point.

  • "must be all-electric, no gas."

    Why would anyone do this?
