    Amazing machine Highly Recommended!!

  • +2

Also recommend it. De'Longhi machines are excellent, maintain it and it'll go forever.

    • What kind of maintaining? I descale mine when it asks . Anything else ? Had mine now for 4-5years still going strong

You should also take out the brew unit and give it a wash, and ideally pull it apart and regrease it with food grade grease, but given a replacement brew unit is about $35 I could see the argument for just replacing it after about 5,000 cups.

Good price and a popular machine.
Just a reminder that these actually brew the coffee in a high-pressure boiler made from heat resistant plastic, which may not be to everyone's preference

    • Any links to show the actual pressure vessel is made of plastic?

    • Thanks. I was considering this for times when I don't want a quick coffee, but changed my mind. By the way, I see a lot of these on Facebook marketplace. Not sure if it's because people are unhappy with them, or just because they're so popular.

      • +1

It will be because of the popularity mostly but they could also be in need of replacement parts or just replacement.
W have a different model that is close to 10,000 cups and I have had to replace the boiler and the pump both were under $100 and took about 30 mins to change.

We recently replaced the machine at work from an earlier model of this to this machine as it needed a new brew piston which is about $150 and given it was around 15,000 cups we decided it would be better to just get a new machine.

    • There's no boiler in these coffee machines. more likely only brew group and thermal block. how else are they going to make an all-in-one for under 400.

      • Yes the thermal block boils the water and then passes it on to the brew group with a piston pressurizing the hot water for extraction.
The brew group is all plastics. Some are OK with that, some may not be. The main point is people are informed and can make a choice.

  • Yup plastic scratches, more likely to have scratches before a similar metal machine.
Its not hard for anyone to see, the digital zoom on mobile phones can see the roughness of plastic kettles, coffee machines if anyone cared to look. Ignorance is bliss.

what are you doing to your coffee machine?

  • +1

Make sure to empty the used coffee ground as it will get moldy easily.

  • Great deal.

  • +3

FYI this machine does not make barista level coffees as it uses a pressurised basket while coffee shops use non-pressurised. So if you don't mind a drop in coffee bean flavour to be a bit more on the bitter side, then go for it.

For me I love this machine cause it's so damn quick to make a coffee and do a basic machine clean after. Hard to go back to non-pressurised.

Not built to last. Been through 2 of these, both failing within 3 years.
Know your Australian Consumer Law for when the 2 year warranty runs out.
Not designed for easy DIY repair, and is uneconomical to pay for repairs, at this price just buy another machine.
We won't be buying another of these "disposable" coffee machines.

    • My first unit lasted 11 years

    • How long do you expect $400 to last.

    • -1

negs for sharing real world experience with 2 of these machines in the last 6 years…

is this ozbargain or the delonghi magnifica fan club?

  • +1

I also have this.. recommend. Great coffee and very convenient.. best you will get for this price range for an automatic machine.

  • +1

I have had mine since 2020. Minimum of 5 shots a day since then. Basic cleaning and its great. Bought one for the office. Take it away when we go to airbnbs or such its so good.

  • +1

Fudge sticks - I bought this only 2 weeks ago when it was $469 (but with -$30 perks code from JB and discounted gift cards for payment… but I still could have used the latter with $409 at TGG)

  • Bummer. Just bought it the other day using $20 credit and using the TopCashback.

It's a great machine that is replacing my Nespresso pod machine. The coffee tastes a lot better and comes out hotter.

  • +1

These are great machines for what they are.

Have a dual boiler at home but there are two of these in the office and they make fine espressos.

Each must have have done 20,000+ coffees over 5 or 6 years and they are still going strong. Just a regular clean and deacaling when needed.

  • I have 2 magnifica evos.. prices at 700 on sale but i believe all metal inside?

  • Love my Delonghi EVO. Had one for years and just upgrade every 7 years or so. The new one is amazing but wish they kept the large milk jug from the earlier models.

  • Got a similar model since covid, doing 2 -3 cups of latte per day, still going strong and would recommend

The previous model used to be over $500 so this price is a steal IMO

For people using it in VIC, given water are soft I can set the bean grinder to finest and most beans dial with 1 shot, produce the best flavour for me

    • You can also adjust for water hardness (well I can on our Delonghi.)

      • +1

Yes, I also set the water hardness setting to softest, this helps extend the cleaning warnings interval

  • +1

"Fully" automatic. Might be great for those who don't usually have milk based drinks, as stretching the milk on this machine is still a completely manual process, but at the end of the day this machine simply takes away the need for a separate grinder. Therefore if you were looking for a budget setup that would produce a "technically" better coffee, I would consider the Delonghi Stilosa EC230, which goes for around $149 or less, and has a stainless steel boiler, and non pressurized baskets. Combine with a cheap grinder, maybe something like this, https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/356824019605 and I reckon you'll be out in front, both with $$$ and coffee quality. Just my two beans worth as an option to consider.

  • Any comparison video between this and eletta explore.

Eletta explore is available at $999. Is it worth $600 more?
