  • Bought this before, good stuff.
Do you sell the monitor arm alone?

    • +1

Checked the listing and looks like they do. If it's the same model, the monitor arm listed with the above item is available for $59.

  • +1

OP what are the manufactured dates on these?

    • +2

The second two digits of the model number usually refer to the model year with Dell monitors, so I'd say 2015 is the likely date.

      • +1

That's the model year, true, but not necessarily the manufacturing date. They keep manufacturing the same model for a few years.

        • Yeah keen to know when it was built essentially.

        • Assume that as the oldest date then

        • It can go the other way too - I have a U3425WE that was manufactured in December 2023

        • why does this matter? They all come with same feature set for the model year. These monitors last a lifetime anyway. I had my 27” U series monitor replaced with 2025 model only due to thunderbolt hub & compatibility.

      • -2

if 2015 then thats not much life left in it

        • +1

Depends on the power on the. I got one from Untech last year. 2018 manufactured date with 3600 hours on it.

If it came from an office and was turned on for 8hrs a day, that's only 2yrs worth of work days. So not much use for a 6yo monitor. I'm more than happy with it.

          • +1

            @yamumma: *power on time.

Bah! Too late to edit it.

  • damn if i dont have 32" 4K (flat) already i will get this.
but it would be funny to have the 32" 4K as side monitor, right? (because curve must be the main and i read that is not good for curve to be in vertical)

    • How big is your desk that this is a viable option?

      • It's pretty doable. I dualscreen a 34" curved and a 27" 4k (given free from work). With a stand that takes 2 monitors, this takes up almost no desk space at all, no more than a Pringles can.
I've actually downgraded my desk size and put the stand towards the corner. With the UW on one side of the stand, this centers it on the desk and it takes up most of the desk width. The 4K is on the other side, hanging over the edge of the desk and rotated towards me.

For a few months I basically didn't use the 4K because it was too awkward to fit even on my previously massive desk.
It's still feels excessive, and I have another 4K from work that I haven't attempted to add to this.

      • no issue with desk, just not sure if 32" is fine for side monitor considering this 34" curve would be a long monitor

        • +1

Don't overdo it. I know these deals are very tempting :)

    • I had 32" 4K (curved) as a side monitor to 34" ultrawide (curved). Was great. And my 32" 4K was curved, which is not ideal for portrait (but its fine) - a 32" 4K flat would be even better as the side monitor.

I now have 40" 5K2K (curved) with 32" 4K (curved), which is even better! :)

When I had the 34", I used the 32" 4K in both portrait and landscape (rotated it depending on the task, and what suited better). Since upgrading to the 40" I have mostly kept 32" 4K in landscape, because of the matching vertical, which makes it nicer in landscape! :)

      • @caprimulgus

i read somewhere that curve monitor are not supposed or built to be put in portrait.
ok thanks so you think it would be fine to have this 34" curve as main and 32"4k flat on the side (portrait/landscp).
would the 32" be too far on the side (bad for neck) because the 34" is very wide in dimension?

        • Yes, I think you will be fine.

The way I had it set up was the 34" as the main screen, but very slightly angled, with the right half of the screen directly in front of me. Ie. I used the right half of the 34" ultrawide as my "middle" screen, with the other half of the screen slightly to the left. This means I could swivel my body slightly to the left to use the whole 34" as my main screen.

Then, I had the 32" 4K off to the right in portrait/landscape, but I pulled it in a little bit closer to me (because it has higher dpi). Because the 34" wasnt centred, but slightly off to the left, this meant the 32" wasnt far to the right at all, so i could easily swivel slightly to the right to use it.

          That setup worked for me!

But, even if you sit centred to the 34", I think a 32" portrait to the side will still work, and wont be too wide. Compare to some 32:9 super ultrawides with really strong curve!

Btw, 34" ultrawide is only slightly wider than 32" 4K. So you if you can imaging having a second 32" 4K in portrait next to your current one, it won't be much more than that:
          https://www.displaywars.com/34-inch-21x9-vs-32-inch-16x9

          • @caprimulgus: Btw, 34" ultrawide is only slightly wider than 32" 4K

ah, yes i forgot about that, correct not much different i was thinking supr wide 32:9 maybe

      • Just be aware that this isn't (strictly speaking) a 4k monitor. The vertical resolution is 1440p, so unlike a true 4k display, which is 3840x2160, this is 3440x1440p, which would be the equivalent of 2560x1440 at 16:9.

I know it's an obvious point, but if you love 4k for productivity (I do), this isn't quite that.

        • Given I mentioned I already have a 34" ultrawide (which as far as I know, only come in 3440x1440 resolution), which I referred to as a 34" ultrawide (didnt mention 4K in relation to the 34" - in contrast, I specifically referred to the 32" as 4K & the 40" as 5K2K)…you would think I probably already know this?

This monitor isnt "strictly speaking" not 4K…it's not 4K at all, in any sense! Strictly or loosely speaking! :)

I believe that what you are trying to point out is that the ppi is different (given you talk about the equivalent 16:9 monitor). Yes, the ppi is different - which I mentioned in my comment above about my (previous) setup with a similar 34" ultrawide. :)

          Given I ran this exact combo that the OP was asking about (34" 1440 & 32" 4K), and now run a ppi matched 40" 5K2K & 32" 4K, I think I do understand! :)

        • yep thanks i understand its not 4k, but i actually wants something less than 4k as my side monitor - because when sharing screen of 4k monitor all my staffs are complaining the fonts are too small (but i dont want to keep changing resolution back and forth)

          • @McMaferMur: Fwiw, I use my laptop screen (Full HD) for screen sharing, to avoid such issues.

You can also share windowed from your higher resolution monitor - but that wont work if you need to share full-screen applications. (You can also set the resolution on your monitor down whilst screen sharing - but that's far too much effort for me!)

I believe there is some plug-in that allows for "full screen" window sharing, but I haven't bothered to look into it (cant be bothered doing the paperwork to get it installed on my work computer! Lol)

            • @caprimulgus: nah, work laptop is 14" cant do much on there i hate it (after having 32"4k haha)
nah, i need full screen with multiple excel and app to show people
nah, IT will not approve/install any outside software not even logitech mouse
              :)

    • There aren't many monitors that fit well alongside a 32" display, other than another 32" display, which is pretty unwieldy.

34+32 is an awkward combo: https://multimonitorcalculator.com/?a1=21%3A9&d0=32&d1=34&h0…

34+27 is the way to go if you want an ultra wide with a side display: https://multimonitorcalculator.com/?a1=21%3A9&d0=32&d1=34&h0…

I currently (temporarily) use a dual 34" combo, but the sweet spot is dual 27" in my opinion.

      • the link is amazing.
true i think i settle with one 27" QHD as side (port or landscape), and 32" 4K as main. hopefully can get under $100 second hand.
or 2 of the 27" haha on both side

    • Here's my setupwith 2 of these stacked vertical and a 28" 4k as my secondary display.

  • Only 3 months warranty?

    • Refurbished and 10 years old so… yeah

      • it's most likely not 10 years old. the model is the 2015 model but it doesnt mean it gets manufactured in 2015. it could be just a couple of years old

        • Fair enough

        • Unlikely it’s only a couple of years old as it was replaced by the U3419W, presumably in 2019. Based on that, it’s 6 years old, at best, unless I’m missing something?

          • @Orrelljet: they don't get replaced, it's just a different model and they keep producing the previous models. same for all ultrasharps.

            • @hongerwonger: I’m sure that would be great for buyers of this “bargain” but that doesn’t seem likely, to me at least. Why would Dell produce or anyone buy the 3415 when the 3419 that replaced it is better and has improved features? I know manufacturers of business machines will keep a certain line current, to ensure corporate buyers can replace like for like but even that is finite. These screens were introduced more than 10 years ago - whatever you get now will be old.

This is actually specific to the model being offered and I’d be very interested to know what Ozbargainers get:

              https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/monitors/mon…

              • @Orrelljet: that's a question for you to ask Dell, but they have consistently created ultrasharp models that have had "newer models" released. it is not normal practice but it is what dell does, i'm not here to argue what they do or don't do

Cheapest Shipping to WA metro is $58 via Road express - Star Track

    • Cheapest to QLD metro $40 StarTrack or $58 AusPost…hm didn’t expect it to be that hefty

  • good price

  • $189 if you already have a monitor arm: https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/rfb-dell-u3415w-nostand-r…

Not a bad price, especially with the arm included, but I would personally wait for a refurbished U3419W deal.

    • Chances of that being available? Wondering if I should jump on this one or wait

    • "refurbished U3419W deal"
and how much would that be? (your guess)

      • Was $199 from the same seller
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/876675

        • ah i see, same model different year i guess. thanks will wait for the same

          • +3

@McMaferMur: Not the same model. The newer one has USB-C with 90W PD.

            • @bio: hmmm i have dock so that not really need pd

              • @McMaferMur: You don't need a separate charger with this. The monitor supplies the power.

  • What happened to your competitive PC building branch?

  • +1

oh, wow, now it'll be super cheap to have 360 degree vision in my Yurt!
    what's the radius on these?

  • Would the monitor arm provided be suitable for a vertically stacked dual setup with 2 of the 32”?

    • If it is a standard Dell one then no. You are going to need a special arm for that and likely either a heavy desk or a desk mounted to the wall.

  • any 4k 34 inch please

  • +1

I think it's an OK price, not a great price.

When Aldi had the LG 32UR500 31.5" 4K UHD VA HDR on sale for $199 a couple of years ago - that was a great price!

  • +1. Bought this one from previous deal, very good stuff. Great to see the Monitor Arm include in the deal.

PS: I had to buy a monitor arm separately last time, mainly because this monitor is a bit heavy.

  • +1

Had this for close to 6 years before I bought my 40” 5k2k monitor. This had served me really well for productivity use case. Recommended.

  • Shipping is bit steep - cheapest option is $30 to Melbourne metro itself

  • Mmm shipping is steep but $250.. I dont think can't go wrong. so tempted. Would this be a downgrade from 28 inch 4k non curved?

  • Good for flight sim?

  • Monitor weight = 8.44 kg

Included monitor arm supports: up to 9kg

    Cutting it a bit close?

  • Does it work with Macbook air M1?
It seems the answer is not. https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/monitors/u34…

Any recommendation for occasional WFH and some general media use? TA

    Hey everyone,

We've now sold out of this particular bundle, and we've updated the listing to include a different, heavy-duty monitor arm instead, which comes at an increased price. As a result, we've decided to end this deal as it no longer reflects the price on our website.

    Thank you,
    Your BPC Tech Team

  • Nice monitor for the price but somehow the power cable wasn't included when I pick it up today.

    • Sorry to hear that your power cable was missing, please send us your order number via email at [email protected] and we'll organise a cable for you right away.
