Thanks for that info, deal breaker for me.
Listing specifies 12 hours, if that helps
I own one of these and it turns off after 12.
Get smart plug tapo etc
I don't think you can use these with smart plugs because you need to press a button to switch on? I've got the older style switches which slide- they're working with smart plugs, no problem. can anyone confirm?
you need to press a button to switch on?
correct
the way i do it is set it up in my alexa routines to turn on at night, and turn off in the morning. so before i sleep i turn on the heated blanket, and then in the morning it will turn off at my set time everyday whether i am using the blanket or not.
why are you lying it to us? its 12 hours not 8 hours. what do you gain from lying to us?
Didn't see any stock on heated throws
Good price, though I've got one with a button that physical moves and then hooked into a Smart Switch, this way I can turn it on 15 minutes before I go to bed and it's already heated.
Got a link or name for the one you've got? I like the sounds of that.
Not op but you're looking for a fingerbot or one of its clones.
Note that you'll need a workaround to get it working for Australian switches. Refer here https://www.reddit.com/r/homeautomation/comments/163gko2/upd…
I didn't think of that, so that's an option thanks.
But I still read ops comment as the button on the blanket physically moves (and can stay 'on' when disconnected from power) and they use a normal smart power plug.
@sssx: I bought it a few years ago from Kmart or Big W, but it’s similar to this
https://www.harrisscarfe.com.au/home/bedding/electric-blanke…
i have this. there's quite a difference between level 2 and 3, you wouldn't want to leave it on level 3 for 12 hours.
i leave at level 1, i still wake up with my legs sweating. i use a winter goose down duvet.
too late :(
Same price with kmart if that's what's near you.
This is a fitted electric blanket, different to a normal blanket
distinction between an electric blanket and a rug/throw
blankets are fitted (or ribbon tied) for undersheet bed heating
yea, its so confusing. they should just call it a fitted sheet or mattress cover, blanket goes over the person not the bed.
Exactly. Bought a similar one when Aldi had it, opened it and found it was a fitted sheet. Immediately returned
Note there is no flexible timer on these - they are hardcoded to turn off after 8 hours and that's it.
