  • Do I have to buy the gift card, wait for it to arrive then make my purchase?

    • There's not actually a physical card, it's just e-mailed to you, so you'll get it instantly when you order :)

  • What is the catch? 22% off lens are alot.. Are you going bankrupt some time soon?

    • We keep seeing iTunes and other companies doing $x for $x gift cards, we thought we'd give it a try! I certainly hope not.

      • +1

Can i use all 4 of them in-store?

        • +3

Yes you sure can. When using gift cards, you could actually use as many as you want on an order. Of course, you're only going to get 4 discounted :)

        • ok, I'm confident now thanks for answering my questions promptly.
          Now what is worth buying?
wanna throw in free delivery like usual?

        • Everything is worth buying :) Considering this is over 20% off, we don't really want to lose too much more money so sorry, no free delivery :( Free pick up though if you live on the Gold Coast :)

    • -3

You can only buy a max of 4. So 22% off is not really true. You get only the most $44 off your purchases.

      • +2

Assuming your order was $200 or under then :)

        • +8

Good lenses are usually more than $200 :)

        • Very true

        • +1

My favourite and most used lens is 50mm 1.8 and that is generally around $200 (grey import)
That is in my kit of tokina 11-16 f2.8, tamron 17-50 f2.8 and nikon 70-200 f2.8.

        • +1

Good lenses, love the Tokina 11-16mm and 70-200mm.

        • +1

lol yeah.. the tamron is the ugly child amongst the family… only every used for travelling I guess.

          Thanks for the deal BTW.

      • Why did this get Negged?

  • +1

Can all 4 be used on the same purchase?

    • +1

      As above, they certainly can.

  • +1

Seems like a stunner of a deal. Thankyou, don't understand why this hasn't got more votes?

    • Still early in the deal, hopefully that will change :)

  • Thanks man, you guys are great. Slightly more exspensive than buying from overseas but you guys haev a brick and mortar store. I bought my DSLR from u and will buy this. Thanks :)

Plus our prices include GST, you have local support and all warranty repairs are made in Australia (hopefully it won't need it!)

  • +3

Canon 50mm 1.8 for $87.95. Not bad at all :)

  • +2

Pretty good although no Micro Four Thirds cameras (except one) and no NEX cameras :(

    • +1

Sorry bargainjargon, it's on our list to get one day so keep an eye out!

      • No worries, thanks for the info :)

  • +1

Yup, that's a winner. Love my nifty fifty.

  • Any good deals on 600D body only? Was trying to contact your online chat but no response for 10 mins..however they say they are online :-)

    • Sorry ozshaz, you can try again and someone will definitely answer. Only this deal at the mo :)

  • Why don't you have sony rx100? Clearly the best compact to ever exist.

    • We find that warranty repairs for Sony take forever, and every time we start to sell Sony, we have no end of troubles. Possibly we will in the future.

      • You should stock them, they are amazing.

        • We'll have a look into it :) Certainly does look like a good camera, I'd like the RX1, if it was about $2k cheaper :)

  • +2

Sweet price on the Nikon J1 with 10-30mm zoom lens. $365 which is cheaper than Amazon or B&H ($399 for both). Plus you use the gift card then BAM!

I am going overseas and I can claim from the TRS with this gift card discount!Great!

Edit: Hold on a second…Rep, will the amount on my tax invoice show my actual purchase amount or the amount which deducted from the gift card?
e.g. I bought 4 gift card and use them to buy a $200 camera, the invoice will show $0 or $200?

    • Not sure if you'll be able to claim the GST on the gift card, you might want to double check that with Customs.. If you physically have a camera for example, then you certainly can.

      • No, buying gift card won't qualify. There is no gst charged in the first place. Rep, do you charge people gst on gift card purchase? Probably not.
I dont run business but from my tax law study, you can't charge gst on gift card.

        • I've had a chat with the boss about it, it's probably best to contact Customs about the TRS and the GST situation

        • Indeed; otherwise you'd be paying GST twice; once when you buy the gift card and a second time when you use it.

    • The invoice for the camera will show $0 I believe, since you're paying GST on the gift cards

      • Goods/purchases that do not attract refunds under the TRS
The following goods are excluded from the scheme:

gift cards/vouchers (although goods purchased with gift cards/vouchers are eligible for a refund subject to all TRS requirements being met)

The total amount of invoice will show $0 but there will still shows the product cost amount and GST on the invoice right?

        e.g. is something like this?
        Camer $200 (inc. GST $18.1)
Gift card -$200 (inc. GST $18.1)
        Total $0

Sorry, but I really wanna buy some requirements from this deal.

        • The GST will be paid on the gift cards when purchasing, so if you buy the camera, it will show you paid $0.00 for the camera, which of course means $0.00 in GST, as you are paying GST on the gift cards. Hope this clears it up.

        • While I'm purchasing gift card there have $0 amount GST on it.
          I am after the Manfrotto 561BHDV-1 $375.
If I use 4 $50 gift cards to buy that, can I still claim from TRS?
          $375(inc.GST$34) - $200 = $175 (inc.GST $34 OR $15.9?????)

          really need help on this.
I am confused as TRS mention this
"gift cards/vouchers (although goods purchased with gift cards/vouchers are eligible for a refund subject to all TRS requirements being met)"

        • This is actually the wrong way around? Gift cards should attract no GST. When you use them to redeem an item the invoice for the item (camera/lens) should show GST inclusive and indicate that payment was made via gift card.

        • Sorry for all the confusion everyone. We've checked the system, lousy is correct. NO GST is paid on Gift Cards. When you use the gift cards to buy something, it will show the full GST amount on the invoice. E.g, but something for $200 all with gift cards, you obviously won't have to pay anything for that order, but it will show GST of $18.18. Sorry for the confusion!

  • do you price match in-store?

what is your policy on matching grey imports i.e. amazon?

    • We generally don't. If you see a store e.g. Teds or Harvey Norman, that are doing something cheaper, let us know and we'll try our best. We won't match overseas stores, since they don't have to pay GST or have an Australian warranty for example.

  • so you stock Fujiilm X mount lenses?

  • +11

+1 for a responsive REP ! Don't know or care if the deal is as good,
but anyone who responds to the Forum questions, gets my + ,

    • +6

Go me! Edit: now I don't feel so special

  • Shame it's 4 per order only given the price of good lenses are $400+

    • cough two cough accounts cough

      • Sigh, can't have everything sadly

        • +1

Just putting it out there, so really, it's just designed to clear cheap P&S and accessories…

Won't work, 4 coupons max per order. So if you buy a $400 lens, the max amount of coupons you can use is $200 worth (i.e. 11% discount instead of 22%), just a heads up.

  • Awesome deal! Too bad I bought some stuff two day ago!

  • Rep - if my shopping cart comes to $149, can I still use 3 vouchers and sacrifice the $1?

    • You can use the 3 vouchers, and one of the vouchers will have $1 left on it for you to use next time :)

  • Naive question maybe, is it possible to divide the payment between gift cards and credit card/paypal ? Buying a $400 lens, paying half with the gift cards and the other half with credit card/paypal. Is that possible rep ? Thanks !

    • It sure is! The gift cards will just bring the total of the order down, then you can pay the other $200 either in store (if you pick up), bank deposit or credit card :)

      • Sweet ! One last question, when does this deal for discounted gift cards expire ?

        • The deal will expire tomorrow

  • Max 4 giftcards can be used in one order - not good enough for expensive stuff.

    • Rep mentioned "When using gift cards, you could actually use as many as you want on an order. Of course, you're only going to get 4 discounted :)"

      • "Limit of 4 per customer and only 4 can be used per order."

        • +3

Other way around mate, you can buy as many gift cards as you want if you have multiple email addresses, but you can only use max of 4 per order, so as stated above, if you buy a $400 lens, the max discount is 11% (based on the use of 4 gift cards).

        • Got it - thanks

  • Damn no GoPro accessories :(

  • Hi Rep

Are you able to do a better deal on the Nikon D600? Your price is 1975 (1931 after this deal) plus postage and is a grey import. Recently we had a deal from eGlobal for 1449 + shipping and I understand your comments about the fact that it is overseas and therefore do not need to pay GST, but your current price is just too high.

Further, JBHifi have 10% off their cameras which makes the d600 2156.40 plus Nikon currently has a $150 trade in value for any camera new or broken - thats $2006.40 for aussie stock + 2 years aussie warranty and free delivery! And also you don't have stock.

    Something better please :D

    • Hey jman123, at the moment the best price we can do is on our website, sorry about that!

    • If you dont mind grey import but you are after Aus warranty, then you should try DDP. Plus you can claim TRS if you go overseas.

      • Smallpizza, we do provide an Australian warranty. DDP import their stock from overseas. All of our repairs are made in Australia at an Authorised repair centre. We never send our goods overseas for repair, and since all our prices include GST, you can also claim it back via the TRS.

  • Hey Rep.

What am I doing wrong? -> Coupon code "50for39" is not valid.

    • :O have you added a gift card to your shopping cart? Have you used it before?

      • Yep. I added 4 but no I have not purchased from you previously

        • Odd. Just to make sure, you aren't putting in " are you? Are you putting it in the coupon code section or gift voucher section?

        • Yep. I actuallty tried both fields just in case. I have gone out of it all together. opened a new window and tried again but still the same. I am using IE (which may be the problem). I usually use Firefox but it is not working at present.

        • Hmm it should still work on either. Possibly try deleting them from your cart, clear your cookies and cache and try again?

        • will do. Thx

        • Hey R3b3l66, did it work?

  • What happens if I buy 4 cards and my friend buys 4 cards which satisfies 4 cards per customer but my friend decides to give me his 4 cards…

Is the system only going to recognize and process 4 cards for every purchase.

Technically I bought 4 and got given 4

Will still be able to use all 8 cards for one purchase. ?

    • You'll only be able to use 4 discounted gift cards on any one order, then the other 4 on another order

  • Will the balance in the Giftcard forfeit if Im buying something $93.50 with a $100 Giftcard?

Will the $6.50 is able to use next time?

    • You'll be able to use it certainly. Spend $90, use $10 later, etc.

  • Rep, will there have $100 gift card for $78 coming on?
I wanna buy and use 4 of them in your store. :)

    • Haha, I don't think so sorry :(

  • Wish you had Pentax Q lenses.. :)

  • will you be stocking the sony nex series?
