                • @Peteroz: 350 is the bonus voucher from trade-in
585 would be the gift card issued for the device being traded in

                  • @zb c: Ooh ok, are they issued at the same time?

                    • @Peteroz: When you get the email when completing trade in, there is a link to coupons. Select the coupon offer, in this case 10pro xl, they email it to you (code and a barcode) and you present that at the counter. Same time they also issue a link for the gift card.

                      • @zb c: Ok thanks, that part was a bit confusing to me….

                      • @zb c: what if i cancel my phone trade in, will I be able to keep $350 bonus???

                        • @Peteroz: As they issue you a gift card but dont send the phone in, they will keep the pre-authorisation on the card.

For example, if you trade in a device and its valued at $150, they will issue a gift card for $150 with the expectation that you send in the device for it.

If you dont, they keep the $150 and you keep the gift card, essentially bought a jb gift card instead of exchanging a device. If you send it in, they release the funds back to your card.

The bonus voucher is separate and if you use it, dont pay that back. That bonus voucher is only valid for the purchase of the 10pro xl or whatever you choose from the listed offers.

Just make sure you actually download the gift card and use it before cancelling if thats the route you want to take.

                          • @zb c: So my pixel 6 is worth $5 and they did take it. If I don't send it in. They only keep the $5??

      • will they provide trade in value $585 as gift card? will i able to use at the time of signup?

        • You will have to complete trade in online

      • @jaboday423 at time of signing up if they honour all these vouchers then it will +239, where that money will go?

        1997−350−585-1400+99 = +239

        • Option 1:
If you continue on Telstra plan then you will have to pay 99 per month for rest of 23 months (as first month 99 will paid during sign up)

          Option 2:
If you chat with JB hifi mobile app support or Telstra support and request for mobile plan cancellation then they will send an invoice for 800*(23/24) = 766.xx value to be paid and you are done with all payments.

So chose your option and go ahead

      • Pixel 9 pro xl is $890 on mobile guru!
I try to trade in something small or broken.

  • +3

Did it today at a store where manager told me it couldnt be stacked on the phone.

    1. Didnt ask the sales staff about stacking, just signed up for phone plan
    2. Sales staff asked counter staff to generate $1400 gift card.
    3. I asked counter staff if they can scan my voucher first (didnt mention it was a bonus voucher)
    4. They scanned voucher and didnt ask questions.
    5. They applied the $1400 gift card
    6. ???
    7. Profit
    • Does the bonus voucher from trade in have a barcode? Mine didnt, just came with a code

      • Just a code for $350 bonus

        • Can you use this code to buy something else or this code will not be provided at all ?

      • The bonus voucher had a coupon barcode (with the coupon code underneath) in my email. The staff just has to scan the barcode, they didnt need to input anything

      • Mine came with barcode.

    • Between step 2 and 3 did they have to generate it first, then apply the trade in voucher then apply the $1400 gift card?

Ie. You can only apply the trade in voucher after they generate the $1400?

      • +2

The important thing is that the voucher is applied before the $1400 gift card is applied. My counter staff said they had to generate the $1400 gift card first, so in my case it was generate gift card, apply voucher, apply gift card. I dont think it actually matters when they generate the gift card tho.

        • Thank you! I'll give it a try.

  • Anyone had luck around Tweed Heads?

  • Anyone had luck in any of the Adelaide stores?

    • +1

Tea Tree Plaza but that was day 1

    • +1

Yes. I went to the Mile End store yesterday after getting the trade-in voucher for my P9 XL They were super helpful and able to apply all vouchers. I signed up for the Telstra $99 plan with a P10 XL.

      • $1997 : Phone
      • $99 : First month of phone plan
      • -$350 : Bonus Pre-order Gift Card (scanned first)
      • -$1400 : Plan Gift Card
      • -$605 : Trade-in
      • -$400: Gift Card (supplied on pickup to use on something else)

      • Balance
      • -$659 : Credit to spend in-store

      • Less $766 if I decide to cancel the phone plan

      • Final Balance $107 out of pocket

      • Interesting, when i went there they didn't allow me to do it so i went to rundle mall.

        • That is interesting, as the sales guy went and talked with his manager before allowing it to be done. I expected him to come back with a "no".

          • @wombat1955: Did you mention that it's a trade-in bonus voucher before you signed up? Got rejected this morning (in VIC), and staff showed the plan T&C that specifically mentioned not stackable with trade-in bonus offer

            • +1

@hanofee: No, I only mentioned it when I was at the counter after signing up for the plan. I was fully expecting to have it rejected. They initially didn't think it would work but tried anyway.

              • @wombat1955: What was your plan if it was rejected ?

                • @Jd0911: I would have paid the extra. Still would end up a cheap phone.

      • What did you put for trade-in value? Will you be sending it back to them?

        • +1

My P9 Pro XL, and yes, I will send it back.

  • any luck in adelaide store?

    • +1

      yes rundle mall

    • Yes, see my comment above yours.

  • Asking myself if either of the deals are actually worth it, my pixel 7pro is still fine, battery is a bit crap but this doesn't jump out as a must have deal. Probably better things I could waste 800 on.

Went into the store today and just meh'ed out of the process.

    • If you happy with 7 pro and happy to wait for another year just skip 10 and go to 11. I kind of of replace my pixel every year with pre-order. I like new phones also very little upfront cost while pre-ordering. I had to pay only $37 with trade in coupon, but most stores are now refusing to stack trade in coupon with JB plan but YMMV

  • +4

I asked in both JB stores today in Geelong and they said you can't use the $350 off Pixel 10 Pro / XL coupon code with the $1400 off. They even looked up some kind of flyer or document on their computer and read off of it. Based on previous comments here, it seems if you use the coupon code first when you pay it will stack, but they don't want you to do that.

I'm thinking of going in on Saturday or something (deals end on Sep 1st) when it is more busy and signing up for the plan and then going to the register and try use the $350 off coupon code before applying the $1400. But it could also be a risk if they won't let me do it or it doesn't work. Getting a good deal is getting harder these days haha

  • +1

Anyone able to pickup the phone early? Or do we need to wait till 28th Aug?

    • I guess we need to wait for email /text before heading to JB to pickup.

    • The staff member I dealt with actually told me Google's not strict with the release date, it's more of a guideline, so they'll let people know once they've got them in stock. I think it just depends on the store.

  • I don't have anythng to trade, and I want to get Pro XL 256gb, what are the best options i have to get lowerst price? Thanks a lot.

    • Use your current device for trade in (Imei number), bank card, id card (photo card)

You will be debited/ hold the value of trade in value of device (not 350 bonus) from your card.

Use trade in value and bonus coupon for purchase

Later don't send device and the money debited/hold for your trade in device is not returned and you keep your device (they will send in emails just ignore them)

      • Can't I just go on the portal and cancel trade in if I'm not going to send my device?

        • First order the phone and then later you can cancel the trade which is another option as well.

          • @jaboday423: If you cancel the trade-in, won't they charge your credit card with the value of the bonus coupon?

            • +2

@fring: The trade-in value of your device is only held (or temporarily charged) on your nominated bank card during the trade-in process. You are not charged for the trade-in bonus.

Take some time to read through the Assurant trade-in terms and conditions to fully understand how it works:

              https://jbhifi-tradein.assurant.com.au/
              https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/360052939334…

              • @jaboday423: I thought I read somewhere that if you cancel the trade-in, you will be charged for the $350 bonus gift card since they've already sent it out. I guess I must have been reading something else or mistaken the charge for the bonus instead of the device trade-in value. My bad.

      • Better option is just choose a device in the portal with the lowest trade in value (like an early generation pixel watch), that way you don't get debited a huge amount when you cancel.

        • Less discount as well for cheaper devices.
Usually it's easiest just trading than selling privately for slightly more.

If you don't trade you get charged the trader in bonus, pretty straight forward.

  • +1

Pixels were great when they were cheap but good..

  • Is it ok to cancel immediately the plan after signing up?

    • I did on 2 accounts. The phone invoice is not attached to the plan.

    • Yes, you can talk to Telstra support team from telstra app chat or with JB team using JB Mobile app.

    • Did you bother reading any previous comments or threads..

  • -1

Do I trade my old phone first and wait for the code? Then complete purchase?
Can someone give me a quick guide

    • Yes.
Trade in your old phone first - then you will get an email with JB Hi-Fi gift card of Trade-In value, and voucher code. Once you click the link of voucher code in that email - you will get options to select what type of voucher do you want to activate - like, $300 voucher for Pixel 10, $350 for Pixel Pro/XL or some Samsung stuffs.
If you are buying just the phone: while checking out, use these gift cards and vouchers.
If you are going for Telstra plan: as mentioned above, use the Trade In voucher first and gift cards later, otherwise system won’t accept the voucher.

      • +2

You don't technically trade in your phone first.

You just go to the trade-in website, put in your IMEI and you'll get the value of your phone + bonus trade in voucher.

Then you send your old phone in later on.

I think this is an important detail, as it means you continue using your phone until after you get your new phone

        • I just ordered a 10 Pro using a trade-in coupon to get an extra $350 off the trade in price.

Nothing was mentioned about the $350 gift card though - will I still get that after I pick up the phone?

          • @bb99: Same here. As per comments above, we will get gift voucher of $350 during pick up. But don’t know what will happen for this gift voucher if we return the phone (unopened) after few days.

            • @bygones: Picked up the phone earlier via click and collect, and got issued a gift card straight away

            • @bygones: Interesting situation. I wonder if they cancel your GC if unused or deduct from return balance if used, when you return the phone and have already received GCs.

      • How long does it take for the voucher?

        • It usually comes within a minute.
          Please check your Spam/Junk folders.

  • Do they ask for payslip when signing up to the Telstra plan? or just credit check only?

    • +2

Pay slip not required, need your employer name and full/part time , job industry etc etc. nothing much.

  • +1

Just went to JB Miranda Westfield and the staff there were very helpful. They're even the one who offered to me to stack the $1400 off tesltra plan, $350 trade in bonus, and $400 bonus gift card upon pick up.

    • Did they tell you when to pickup the phone ? Do they have enough stock available for collection tomorrow?

      • They told me that I should expect an sms when my order is ready for pick up which is likely tomorrow depending on how many people ordered the same unit I ordered.

        • Just curious, did you port your regular number or a temp one just for this deal? If it was a temp one did you need to have your sim with you? I am guessing yes as they probably send an SMS with a code to verify? Thanks

          • +1

@rowdyroddy: My regular number.. which I think is a mistake. Planning on cancelling it as soon as I get the phone tomorrow.

Yeah, you need the sim with you coz of the otp when porting.

            • +1

@Ernestpogi: you'll need to port your regular number and that will then trigger a cancellation

ideally you would grab a cheap prepaid sim and port that in then cancel
              i used a $2 optus one

              • @zb c: I was thinking that my service will be active for the rest of the 1st month when I cancel it. So that's a no then?

                • @Ernestpogi: you can use it for the entire month as you have paid 99 for it anyway and then port out again before the billing period ends

            • @Ernestpogi: Thank you…yes I have an Aldi SIM for this purpose…was going to go after work but I don't have it with me

    • Oh can you pay on pickup?

      • I don't think so.. I sorted all the payment in store upon order.

  • What is cancellation fee for 256gb XL model?

    • JB $99 plan is considered a $800 giftcard plan , cancellation is $800 however when you sign up , you have to pay first month fee $99. After paying upfornt $99 , your cancellation is $766.59. With pixel 10 promo is $1400GC instead of standard $800 GC

      • I thought that that is for Pixel 10 Pro not XL model….

        • All pixel 10 series are eligible, but you have to pay extra depends on model/storage. Also pre order bonus gift card varies from $300 to $400. XL gets $400 GC.

      • do you cancel the phone plan through Telstra or through JB?

  • Just got denied at JB Hurstville. Might try Miranda or Roselands as per previous comments

    • did you sign up to the plan already before they denied you or did you tell them beforehand that you had a trade in voucher as well and you wanted to stack?

      • I told them beforehand but they were pretty clued on people trying to stack and apparently aren't allowed to do it anymore.

  • Any stores in Melbourne allowing stacking Trade-In bonus coupon $350 & Telco $1400 plans recently please?

  • Denied stacking at altona store Melbourne west. Any luck from anyone at surrounding stores/areas ?

    • +3

It's so annoying to see that most of the people here were successful adding the trade-in bonus with a plan but some can't. I signed up for 2 plans for myself and my wife and they didn't allow stacking. They need to get their sh@# together; if it's allowed it should be for everyone. At this stage it's just a coin flip!
Having said that I'm happy with the deal I got but off course would be $700 better off if they had accepted to stack the codes.

      • Couldn't agree with you more. Its a lottery where some stores are letting people do it.

I even went to 2 places where people were successful and I couldn't get it.

Optimistic in getting it but regardless, paying 1400 less RRP and then getting 400gc back is still a pretty decent offer. Perfect scenario would be 0 out of pocket instead of 200 at the register.

Managed to get 99 refunded and ETC is 766

        • I couldn't even get the $99 refunded. Talked to 3 different people on each account and they all refused flat out.
These phones could have cost me $900 less but they didn't 😃

          • +2

@KB57: If you did jb chat, try telstra direct instead

            better success there

something along the lines of, i've had change of mind and wish to cancel the service number xxxxx. As there has been no usage, are you able to refund the 99 upfront

            • @zb c: Will keep that in mind for next phone.

            • @zb c: For the $350 bonus we get only coupon code with numbers, there is no way to scan it? Do we just show them the code and they will input themselfs?
