I enquired about a phone plan first and confirmed that the promotion is stackable with the employee when they walked me through the plan.

Then, we completed the mobile plan first at the mobile phone section before we headed to the cashier.

Following, another employee popped up and generated the $1,400 Telstra GC.

As advised by other comments, before they applied the Telstra GC, I asked them if I could use my coupon first. (I did not specify how I got this coupon, but they did check if that is for the Google Pixel model.) I was very nervous at this step because I was unsure if this employee would agree to the stack promotion, as the previous employee had.

Anyway, no question was asked. Coupon, $1,400 Telstra GC, then trade-in GC. Done!

          FYI, my ETC is $766.59.

          • @BoBo-the Angsty PhD: Oh so you have submitted a trade in request online, generated the bonus $350 voucher code before heading to the store? Or was the trade in request done in-store?

  • +1

    warning ⚠️
For those that want to use the port in method and get the $1400 store memo now states that it cannot be stacked with the trade in bonus $350. (But can be stacked with the prepaid bonus gift voucher).

So you either get $350 or $1400.

You might get a staff member that is not cluey to this.
The system will still let the trade bonus voucher through but you must do this before the $1400 GC

I can confirm however that the voucher repayment comes up at $800.

    • Even with stacking all the deals, the price is good but not great. I guess Pixel 10 sales is gonna be very low this year .

      • +1

If you can stack the 350, 1400 and get 350 back and then only have the $800 termination fee - the price on the 10 pro is pretty solid

        • True, i was under assumptions the ETC is $1000. Did anyone who sign up today also only need to pay $800?

      • +3

I don't know about that. I just "bought" one and made a profit.

        Pixel pro $1699
        trade in bonus $1699-350= $1,349
Port in discount = 1,349 - 1400 = $51 gift card to me for future use

        Cancelled from Telstra = $99 + 766 cancel fee = 866
        Total payable for handset = 866 - 51 = $815
I should also get the preorder gift card of $350, so 815-350 = $465

Also, through salary sacrifice, I get the post trade in gst refunded = 1349 x0.1 = $134
        also the remainder comes from pre-tex salary = 1,214 x 0.37 = $449 of tax reduced.

brings the final figure to 465-134 = $331 paid for the phone, then 449 of tax not paid on salary

means the handset gives me a net profit of $118 come next July.

        • i did say it wasn't great if you couldnt stack the trade in and telco deal, clearly you stack both. Also I was under assumption the ETC would be $1000 instead of $800 which I corrected myself above

    • (But can be stacked with the prepaid bonus gift voucher).

What's the prepaid bonus gift voucher? Or do you mean pre-order gift voucher?

  • Is anyone able to recommend where to get an eligible device to trade in for the bonus? I don't have anything applicable

    • Just pick a galaxy smart watch and make up a a serial number. Then just cancel the trade in later. Don't use the trade in voucher, obviously.

      • Why not use the trade it voucher? They just keep the funds from your account anyway.

        • +1

I read that they could get upset with you if you don't send in your device. Cancelling and not using it seems easier.

  • a noob question pls : why am I not able to open the trade-in website when i click the link on jbhifi website? all i can see is a blank screen.

Try opening via Incognito browser or clearing your cache on your normal web browser.

        thanks. yeah found the issue.
It is my new proxy that is not allowing the cloudflare security check to run and hence nothing appears.
i connected to my phone data and it loaded.

  • maybe you've already successfully traded in your phone and that's why there's no screen to look at?

    • +1

      naah didnt trade in yet.

      thanks. but found the issue.

  • Trying out today….nervous…mixed results on if you can stack 1400 with 350 trade in bonus + trade in value on the Telstra 99 plan…

    Trying out the Chatswood one…

    • Good luck and let us know how did it go
Interested in finding out what's the best way to do this while approaching the rep in-store
Do you have a game plan in mind?

      • Feel like the computer systems will let it scan through….needs human intervation to not make it work…..so I will act dumb

  • If using the $350 trade in coupon (if it even stacks) brings the total to a negative value, do you receive the value back or do you lose that value but just pay $0.

    Eg. Pixel 10 pro $1697 - $1400 = $297
    $297 - $350 = $-53 owed to you
Would you then get the $53 dollars back or would you just pay $0 but lose the $53

    • +1

Confirmed they scanned bonus $350 trade in value, I got $$$ from the $1400 gc back as a GC

I signed up for a P10P XL 512GB and because I used a GC before they scanned the $1400 hahah

Also the etc is off $800 not $1000

      • Do you mean they let you scan GC before the 1400? Or what did you say/ask to be able to scan it first?

        • I asked to scan all the vouchers and my JB GCs first

          • @azn_envazn: Does the sales guy give you the $1400 voucher, is it paper, or electronic? Then do you go up to the counter yourself or does the sales guy follow you up them and input the $1400? Wondering if you can go to counter yourself and just tell the checkout to scan the $350 first and then the $1400.

            • @spamity: No the person at the counter does it, it's a paper JB gift card

Person who did my plan asked me to go up to the counter, my 'job sheet' was given to a person at the counter and when they finished serving their customer, I was next.

I just said I have trade in vouchers and asked to scan them before the gift cards

As many have said above and in here, you need to scan the vouchers before the $1400 Gift card

    • You need to use the trade in coupon first.
$1400 is a regular GB gift card , you don't have to use at one go, balance can be used for later purchase. Or buy a case or upgrade to 10 pro.

      • I went in jb hifi knox and the staff said i can only have plan 1400 + 400 gc that's it. The 350 tradein discount is not applicable for buying with plan :(

      • Isnt the $1400 a voucher that can only be used for the pixel 10 phone? Does the sales guy send it to you or gives it as a phsyical card after you sign up for the plan?

        • Regular offer is $800 to signup the $99 plan. But with pixel 10 the offer is $1400. They sign you up with Telstra first , then they generate a pre order docket to pay at the counter of $1847 (pixel 10 pro 256) , along with a gift card of $1400. Thats my experience, may be other store do differently. Then while at the counter, ask them to use the trade in voucher first , then the gift card. It worked for me.

          • @BenjaminSesko: Did they give you the giftcard to give to counter or did the staff hand it to counter?

            • @spamity: They handed it over the GC of $1400 along with the pre order docket . I was the first one to signup the pixel 10 at my store as most of the staffs are not aware on the exact offers or TCs. Then even gave me $350 GC after the payments, suppose to get only after receiving the phone.

  • I love these JB HiFi trade in bonus deals…I buy the new Pixel phone every year, last year's phone goes to the missus and I trade in the 2 year old one.

So this year I get $295 for the Pixel 8 128gb as a trade-in. I was going to buy the base Pixel 10, but realised the trade-in bonus was $200 compared to the $350 for the 10 Pro, and you get an extra $50 on the JB gift card that I'll use for the Pixel 11 next year ($300 vs $350). So that meant I could get the 10 Pro for only $100 more than the base model given the gift card basically counts as proper cash for me 'coz I do this every year and use last year's gift card.

I checked the trade in price on the Pixel 8 Pro and it's $90 more than the base Pixel 8. So when I do this again in two years if that price difference holds it will have cost me $10 more to have the Pixel 10 Pro vs base. Too easy!

So basically a Pixel 10 Pro 128GB for $702. Not bad for a phone advertised for $1697.

    • Best time to upgrade is with pre-order .Trade in voucher is the best value you can get for your old phone. This time I traded my old pixel 5 and used mobile monster to trade(saves extra 150) last year pixel 9 pro xl ($750)

Probably I was among the few lucky ones able to stack trade in coupon with JB 99 plan, so just paid extra $37.

Trade in value for P9PXL + $350 GC justify moving from HN $69 plan to $99 plan

      • +1

I just buy outright, hate been tied to a provider plan for my SIM. Boost $300 prepaid 12 month plan with 290gb of data is more than enough for me…$25 a month for 5G Telstra coverage on my $700 Pixel 10 Pro…yaas queen….

        • Same, 12 month boost 170GB for $160.
Wifi at home and work and it's heaps.

        • I used to buy the $300 boost Sim for $220 or 230.
Now I find better value with these plans
          99 X 24 = 2376
          GC - $1400 =974
          GC - $350 = 626
          Trade in bonus - $350 = $ 276
So for me $276 for two years of Telstra services which is cheaper than boost.

Trade in value of the phone is an extra bonus.

Just walked out of JB-Hifi Mount Gravatt in Brissy and was able to stack all the offers: 350 trade in coupon, 85 trade in gc for my device, will get a 350 gc when I pick up next week.

First time doing the process for the sales chick and the counter lady.

    Got the 10 Pro 256gb

    • May I know how did u go about it?
Tell them u want to sign up for the plan first or tell them u want to do the trade in first? Did u bring ur device along ready to be handed over?

      • +1

You process the trade in online before you go into the store.

Then I went and asked the sales rep what deals they had on the 10 Pro preorder and then I started pointing out all the other offers that came up on the website an she just said I could indeed stack them all so I went ahead.

I should mention I also got the $1400 of from porting in

        • So, what was your final price?

          • @BinnyC: Got charged 99 for the first month of the phone plan and payed 12 for the device at the counter

    • This is great! None of their 3 stores in Brisbane CBD accepted to stack promos. Would you mind sharing the names of the sales reps you talked to?

      • +1

Zoe was the sales rep. Not sure the name of the lady at the counter

        • +1

Thank you! I found Zoe today and was able to get it. She’ll be off Sunday and Monday, for anyone else interested.

          Final costs:

          Pixel 10 Pro 128GB: $1,697

          Telstra port-in: -$1,400

          Trade-in gift card: -$350

I received a $53 gift card today and will get another $350 when the phone arrives, so total GC balance = $403.

Cancellation cost is $767 + $99 for the first month = $866 total cash cost.

After subtracting the gift cards, final cost = $463. Pretty amazing deal!

  • Anyone have any luck in Sydney today? What was your strategy?

I tried a few stores and was told they can't stack the bonus trade in value of 350 + the 1400 port in discount :(

    • Which stores?

      • Caste hill, castle hill towers, bankstown.
I asked if I could use my bonus before they started the process of porting over my number. Maybe the strategy is to just get them to port the number, not mention the trade in bonus and then give them the bonus voucher first when at the counter? Unsure on what successful people have done

        • Some ppl at the counter don't know the difference between vouchers so show the bonus first then the trade in value

  • 10 or wait for s26 better?

    • Do you plan to game on your phone?

      • Yes

        • Then s26 would be the better option
Pixels are not meant for gaming I feel

  • Can I trad in 2 devices and get $700 bonus for 10 Pro?

    • And does old ipad eligible for trade in bonus?

    • +2

You cant use 2 bonuses for same order.

  • I was wondering I have an old ipad lying around, but the condition is not that great but still powers on. The trade in is estimated to be $5, what if I sent it in and they decided the value is worth $0, what would happen? Will they charge the $350 to me?

  • Ok another question here, for those who were denied from stacking the trade in bonus, what are you gonna do with the $350 bonus? How long is the $350 valid for?

Possible to cancel the trade in order?

    • Possible to cancel if you call them up.

  • Went into Melton JB, don't bother about stacking the $350gc. They have refused. The guy I dealt was a co*khead.

Any store in Werribee doing this?

    • Also had no luck at Chadstone home.

  • +1

I had luck stacking on Elizabeth St 👍, no luck Melbourne Central.

    • Would you mind sharing the sales rep pls 🙏🏻

    • Can you dm me the sales rep name too please? Thanks

    • Thanks for sharing that information. Did you first talk to the salesperson and ask them if they would stack the vouchers before signing the contract and ordering the phone?

      • Yeah I did, but in the end I'm not sure if that matters because they weren't the ones processing the payment at the counter. It was more depending on whoever happened to serve me at checkout.

    • Can you please DM me the name of sales rep at Elizabeth Street store? Thank you.

    • Can you plz DM me the salesperson details too

      Thanks

    • Mats, can you please dm the sales rep name? Thanks!!!

      • +1

Sorry I didn't get their name, though I think it more depends on who ends up processing the final payment at the checkout because the sales rep handed it over there, and that's when the vouchers needed to be added in order.

  • So I am looking at $1997 Pixel 10 Pro XL with $350 trade in bonus and $75 for my old samsung watch that came for free with my phone.
$1400 off on plan. Cancel for $800 immediately (apparently not $1000).
That is $172 upfront. With $800 charged later.

Then sell my S25+ for $1050 on Mobile Guru. That is a net profit of $78 to switch phones.

Oh and I get a $400 gift card as well.

I had paid $800 for my S25+ through their $0 upfront on JB plan earlier. Can't believe it is still worth more than I paid second-hand!

    • Good luck - let us know how it goes. This is exactly what I wanted to do but didn't want to risk for a hit on the credit file and then have it not work / not able to be stacked at checkout.

      • Update: I just did it in Brisbane. Paid exactly $172 out of pocket. Will be charged $800 for cancelling plan. $972 all up.
Received a $400 JB Gift Card.

Will sell my S25+ for $1050 upon receiving my Pixel 10 Pro XL (September 1).

$78 net profit and $400 gift card.

        • I think if you had the S25 ultra you wouldn't have needed to 'upgrade' already.

          • @G-Shock: I'm being paid to upgrade. I can upgrade again to the S26 Ultra and get paid again.

            • @xsacha: Sure, something to keep you amused.
I wouldn't say the P10 is even better than the S25U.

  • Hey Guys,

Anyone of you ordered a case and screen protectors (ex: Pixel 10 Pro XL)? If yes can you share links to the products 🙂

    • +1

Planning to buy a official case to match the jade colour ($79) available in JB first and then order a spigen case later from Amazon

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/google-pixelsnap-case-for…

      https://amzn.asia/d/6YuNM81

    • I have a feeling the pixel 9 pro xl screen protector will fit the pixel 10 pro xl just fine

      • A bunch of screen protector manufacturers on Amazon say you're right.

    • +1

I am going to get the Bellroy leather case which is $85+delivery in JB Hi-Fi. But I can get it 15% cheaper through Student Beans and no delivery charge.

      • Which retailer and you getting the case from using studen beans?

        • Direct from Bellroy

  • +1

I went to JB Hi-Fi Myaree and the guy was aware of the trade-in bonus situation, so couldn't stack it.
How can I cancel the plan now and ask for the $99 refund? Should I wait until I receive the phone or I can do it now?

    • +1

You can do it from Telstra app (chat support) and if its just few hours of sign up there is a high chance of getting $99 refunded (again case to case).

      • Heads up, apparently they can only refund if the plan isn't cancelled yet. I had one agent who wouldn't refund so I cancelled through them. Tried for refund later and the agent said he wasn't trying to refund but couldn't as I'd already cancelled.

        • I contacted them for cancellation but they said according to ACMA policy they can't refund first month fee from JB Hi-Fi

      • Do you cancel in the JB Hi Fi Mobile app, or the Telstra app? Just want to make sure I'm speaking to the right people
