Just ordered the Pixel 10 Pro XL (Moonstone) 256 gb.

    RRP: $1997
Trade in gift card for my Pixel 6 Pro: -$155
    Trade in bonus coupon: -$350
    Net cost: $1492

Will also get the $400 JB Hi-Fi gift card 2 weeks after I collect my order.

  • +1

I'll keep my pixel 9 pro xl for $800 new thanks

  • Does anyone know if you can get the trade in bonus from a tablet?

    • +1

Yes, you can even get it if you trade-in a Dyson.

  • In the trade in email I got from assurant (JB Hi-Fi trade in partner), it says the old device must be returned by 28/8/2025, which is the day the Pixel 10 is actually going on sale. Considering I won't be getting my new phone before 28/8/2025, can I ask for an extension? They will charge by credit card with the gift card amount I received for trade in if they don't get the device by 28/8/2025.

    • +2

You can check card statement there is a hold of just the device trade value but not the bonus value ($350). So you can skip sending device and still benefit $350 bonus.

      • That's correct, there is a hold of $155. I am planning to sell my mobile on Mobile Guru. They are offering $230. Is it a good price or should I sell on Marketplace?

        • If you feel your device is less evaluated then you can sell elsewhere. They have already deducted in your card and given you JB hifi coupon code value - so no further loss. Your cash covered as coupon code.

          • @jaboday423: Any chance of being blacklisted by them if ever want to use the trade in for future?

            • @shanks43: No one knows but again how often do you trade in and if it's first that wouldn't be suspension (that extreme at all - they need customers of all kinds to run business at the end of the day).

      • Some people are saying the hold includes the bonus credit, too. Can you confirm you've done it and it doesn't include it?

        • +1

Just checked. They have only put a hold for 135AUD for my Pixel 7a.. I'll be giving them a call if they can provide a extension for the return-by-date else am gonna eat the diff..

        • +2

Yes, pre order completed, it's just the trade in value is on hold/already deducted on your bank card. If you don't send they won't return the money which is deducted and if you send they will send back the money on hold/deducted. This is just trade in value of device only and doesn't include trade in bonus value. 100% verified in my order

          • +1

@jaboday423: Just did the same. I actually chose the cheapest device I could find for trade in (brand new). Which was $200 and gave a $50 credit. I figured if they deducted the bonus I would ask for an extension, just buy a the new device and send it in and still be slightly up.
But you're right the hold is only $50.

            • @dasher86: Thanks guys, I'll register my current phone and not send it in :)

              • @Charmoffensive: I'll probably preorder tomorrow and just send it in. I could get an extra $50 selling it elsewhere but not sure its worth it.

            • @dasher86: Which device was this? Just figuring out the logistics and want to go down this route too.

    • +1

I just heard back from Assurant.

      "…
      Thank you for your email.

We are aware that there is a pre-order for Google Pixel 10 currently in market and have requested an extension to the RMA period to ensure that you have enough time to return your device to us.

Unfortunately, this may not always reflect in the emails we send you as it is done as an exception.

Our request to you is to ensure you send your device to us as soon as possible once you get your new Google Pixel device. If you have any problems at that stage, you are welcome to give us a call for us to follow up further.

      Thank you

      <Name removed>
      Client Service Administrator
      Assurant"

      • Yeah, I got the same jargon..

      • Hi, so did they give you a definite date for the extension? and does that mean they will not subtract the phone value on our bank account on the said date?

Im also at the same boat. Estimated pickup in blacktown JBhifi is 1st September and the date stated in the assurant email is 29th of August.

Not much of a great deal, last year launch deal had 240 likes and 1595 comments and look at this one, numbers speak for itself.

Will stick to pixel 9 for now unless some great bargain comes..

  • +1

    No fold deal?

  • Won't be upgrading my S25U. I still wouldn't call the P10 an upgrade anyway.

CIS still say $800? Good they haven't closed that hack yet.

  • Has anyone in VIC had any luck? My 2 local stores have told me the $350 trade in bonus can not be stacked with the phone plan

    • Walk into store, have a discussion with sales rep and if they agree to do in the order like first trade in bonus, trade in value and 1400 only then sign up for $99 mobile plan if not don't sign up in that store instead go to other stores. Some stores don't do it while others are quite relaxed to do it as per customer request.

    • It never can these days (other promo) read the fine print.

      • I was able to stack it and complete pre-order. There are others who was able to stack as well (see other comments). If cashier uses 1400 voucher first it might not accept trade in bonus
. If you can ask cashier to first scan and use trade in then use 1400 it works (stacking).

        • +1

That's lucky. Just saying they aren't meant to do it but it's usually a cluster at the start and some slip though before the manager's give them the proper briefing.

Yeah I noticed they scan the big voucher first to lower the base price (normal order of proceedings).

    • May I ask which store did you go

  • Does anybody in Vic was able to stack up all codes in preorder. I have a Pixel 9 pro XL 128gb. So was thinking if i can stack up 350 tradein discount and 400 GC while preordering ? Total cost for 256gb moonstone P10 Pro XL will be 664 then.

    • I have a 9 Pro XL as well. Going back and forth on why I do and don't need to upgrade. What is making you want to upgrade? Just out of interest as someone in the same boat

      • Nothing to be honest. It is just latest model with better resale value later if i get it in 644 on top of pixel 9 pro xl. I bought pixel 9 pro xl 128gb couple of weeks back in good price. So was just thinking if I can get a good deal for Pixel 10 pro xl, i should pull the trigger.

Meanwhile, i decided against buying pixel 10 pro xl before it was announced and ordered Vivo x200 ultra in red on aliexpress sale.

        • Yeah same thinking for me - right now I'm leaning towards the view that $664 extra to upgrade from 9 Pro XL to 10 Pro XL isn't worth it given the minimal updates

    • +1

      Yeah don't trade it in.
Just get the bonus. And sell elsewhere.
      JB lowballing at ~$600.

      • Thanks mate. Planning to do exactly that :). May trade in an apple watch S9 45mm for 235+350. I will dream about getting this price anywhere

  • So can anyone confirm if the Telstra Plan + Trade-in coupons stack?

Wouldn't want to get a credit hit with the new mobile plan, only for the deal not to work :(

    • +1

I was able to stack it and complete pre-order. There are others who was able to stack as well (see other comments). If cashier uses 1400 voucher first it might not accept trade in bonus
. If you can ask cashier to first scan and use trade in then use 1400 it works (stacking).

  • Has anyone been able to confirm an extended return time for the trade-in? The website and emails all the device must be returned within 7 days. I recall last time around, this was extended to 7 days after release/collection?

    • +2

I had sent a email to them yesterday while pre-ordering in-store and no reply.. had called today but after 10mins of wait dropped the call.. will wait and see..

      • were you able to hear from them?

  • Collection dates now pushed out to 1st of September (where I am anyway). Live chat confirmed the 28th allocation is gone.
Trade in coupon worked with a 6 year old tablet which theyre giving me $11 for. I wont be sending it back.

    • Same for 5022.

      • +2

I had to go in store as I had some gift cards from CBA that can't be used online. They reckon they will have enough stock on the 28th August, so fingers crossed!

  • Tempted to upgrade from my 7, the $155 trade in price is absurd though. Suppose I'd just not send it in.

Anyone done the 1400+350 stacking and it was accepted recently?

    • I did it with my p7 got $175 for it plus $350 bonus which makes it worth it for me. Only bought the phone for $600~ from Telstra outright

  • +3

So with the $800 ETF, it actually looks cheaper to just grab it on the plan.
Anyone here who used the port-in discount, can you confirm what your ETF came out to? And did you manage to score the bonus trade-in on top of that?

Kinda surprised this thread isn’t getting the same traction as previous Pixel deals, so hoping someone who jumped on it can share their experience.

    • +1

Agreed - if it all stacks together and the $800 minimum voucher repayment, this is potentially cheaper than Pixel 8 Pro on release day at HN.

    • +1

Yeah someone needs to confirm the ETF value. What's the consensus on cancelling before receiving the phone? Should we be waiting until after? That would more likely reduce the chances of getting the $99 refunded I think. Last year I got the 99 refunded but that was on the first day itself.

      • +1

Already cancelled plan and requested 99 refund.

      • +2

JB Hi-Fi Mobile Upfront Plan Premium
        $800 Gift card
23 out of 24 months remaining on your Voucher Term.
There is a $766.59 Voucher Repayment Fee if you cancel or downgrade your plan today.

    • +2

Can confirm ETF showing up in app as 23/24*800 -> $766.67.
Stacked Trade-in $350, Trade-in gift card $TIV, Plan bonus $1400, $400 JB Gift card on collection.

      • Did you do this today?

  • For trade-in, do you send the phone back within 7 days of the day you preorder or the day you receive the phone? Thanks.

    • Last time I checked when I preordered my Pixel 9, they said it is ok to send in 7 days after the release day given it is a pre-ordered deal, but expect to receive multiple reminder emails from them.

  • Went in today and was told that it wouldn't stack with the $350 voucher as well.

    • If you don't mind me asking, which store did you go to?

      • +1

        Gepps X in Adelaide

        • +1

Tea tree plaza SA stacked everything for me. Used the $350 trade in bonus first, then the $40 phone trade in code, then the $1400 Telstra GC. Paid the $60~ difference for the P10 pro 256gb

          • @poKumon: How do they charge you for the 800$ cancellation fee?

  • If I traded in 2 phones, thus generating 2 $350 bonus trade in gc. Could I use both on the 1 phone?

    • System wont accept .. i tried it ..

  • +1

They wouldn't let me stack (WA Westfield Booragoon). I'll wait for Black Friday then.

    • +1

You can try in other JB hifi stores and request them to scan/ do in the following order

      Trade in voucher (350)
Trade in bonus (varies based on device)
      Plan voucher (1400)

If they say they will do then sign up for $99 JB Hi-Fi mobile plan and etc is max $800

The sooner you do the better as other stores will know this and might stop sooner to release date.

    • +1

I got declined at Leichhardt and Broadway in Sydney also.

    • Thanks dude, saved me a trip to this store.

      • I went to JB Cockburn and they stacked it for me.

  • Has anybody in SA been successful with stacking the Trade-in Voucher ($350) with the plan voucher ($1,400)? If so, which store?

    • +1

Just had success at JB Hi-Fi Rundle Mall.

  • Tried two stores in WA and both declined to use the 350 trade in bonus coupon! Looks like the head office has put the brakes.

    • Damn guess should have just done it day one

    • just went to 1 store (Myaree) and the staff member said he can do it
then i went to get a cheap sim card and activate it

came back ~1h later, there was a different staff member who talked to his manager who said its not possible

very annoyed - but it doesnt seem to me like head office has said anything (yet) because it wasnt a straight up no, even the manager took a while (>5 mins) to look something up on his computer

      • Staff in Joondalup and Edgewater stores showed me the offer terms in their system and it said clearly the 350 trade in coupon can't be stacked but I could stack the trade in value. I went to try my luck at Whitfords and got lucky with this staff member who convinced me he can do it and he did! He also went up to the counter with me so I wasn't handed over to another staff!

        • +1

awesome! third attempt worked for me as well today!

i went back to myaree today and the staff member was a bit clueless so consulted somebody else who said it should be fine
got to checkout and a different staff member was there to complete the purchase using the vouchers

the staff member from yesterday who said its not allowed was at the counter next to us, he looked at me a couple of times and i could feel my heart pounding, but luckily he didnt say anything

managed to get away with it at the end, have already cancelled the new plan via jb mobile live chat and got the invoice for 766.59 sitting in my emails. unfortunately the live chat person said they cant refund the $99 first month but dont really care tbh as it is 766.59 instead of 950+

          • +1

            @emperortamarin: That's the ozbargain spirit!

          • +1

@emperortamarin: Fantastic! The $99 refund also took three tries for me. I was about to give up but then tried the financial hardship angle and they said I just have to wait for the payment to clear first and they will issue the refund. Might take 2-3 business days.

    • +1

JB cockburn did it for me this morning.

      • May I know which rep? Can PM me if u don't mind

        • +2

I went to the phone counter and the guys there did the port deal. I didn't mention trade in, they generated the gift card and gave it to the girl at the counter and walked off (they knew i was doing the ol ozbargain cancel, so I guarantee they wouldve blocked the trade in if I told em I was gonna do it), then I just slipped my trade in paperwork with the handset payment paper and gave it to the girl at the counter. She put the trade in coupon in, then the port in gift card and it all worked. I think if you dont tell the phone guys you wanna trade in, it should work, as the girls at the main counter dont seem to know what the ins and outs of the phone deals are in any case. As long as they put the trade in bonus in the system before they do the port in gift card, the system won't flag it.

          • @Charmoffensive: How does the pixel 10 phone get scanned at checkout, do they need to scan the phone paperwork you have or does the sales person input it into the computer? Wondering if theres a risk the checkout just scans the $1400 first before you have a chance to show the $350 coupon and then the system will decline.

            • +1

@spamity: So basically what you get from the phone counter is:

A piece of paper with the handset barcode that the counter chick can scan - she needs to scan this first before she can apply coupons giftcards etc.
a gift card with $1400 loaded on it.

The phone guys will give you the paper and then walk you to the main counter to get in line, then flag one of the staff, give them the gift card and tell em what it's for (probably so you don't just walk out with the gift card), then walk off to do more phone deals. You get in line, wait for the counter chick, then walk up to her. I gave her the paper with the handset barcode with my trade in paperwork on top of it. She looked at my trade in stuff, then went "cool, I'll scan the handset in and then input this first". She scanned the handset sheet, then my trade in sheet, then manually input the trade in bonus code in, then picked up the gift card with the $1400 port in bonus on it and input that next. If she did it out of order, it'd throw up an error and any manager/phone guy who comes over would tell her the deal doesnt apply to port ins. So you basically have to get lucky that she puts it in first or if it throws up an error, suggest she put the trade in first before the GC and hope she just complies without asking anyone else. If you want, you could probably ask/sugges the put the trade in stuff first and just tell em it's for tax reasosns and they'll probably do it without questioning it, because they do heaps of trade ins every day and honestly just dgaf.

              • @Charmoffensive: Yep thanks, is the $1400 physical card, does the sales guy generate it? Im wondering if I can get that giftcard off the sales guy and then I can control the order of everything I pass to checkout.

                • @spamity: Nah, the phone guy generates the physical gift card and carries it to the checkout person, gives it to them, then walks off. when you get to the checkout person, they need the phone document from you to scan first, which is your window to see if you can get them to input the trade in bonus first.

              • +1

@Charmoffensive: Thanks for the detailed write up
Definitely helped a few of us here

          • @Charmoffensive: Good point!

  • +3

For those in Sydney - Had success getting the deal including the trade in bonus coupon at JB Hifi Home Castle Hill, Sydney store (tried another store (Rouse Hill) prior who wouldn't stack).
    Pixel 10 Pro XL Moonstone 512gb - $2197
    - Trade in voucher (350) - asked to scan first and they were happy
    - Trade in bonus (260 for P7Pro)
    - Plan voucher (1400)
    - Got 2x $100 Ultimate for him Gift cards @ Big W Prior for $180 (10% off currently in store) to pay the balance.

Total Cost - $99 for the plan and $180 for the gift cards with $13 left over for use on one gift card.
Intend to keep the plan as was looking to get onto similar plan with Telstra anyways.

Castle Hill were super helpful and friendly with it, no issues.

    • +1

Interesting, I had no trouble at Rousehill town center yesterday. They were super helpful as well , even they handed over the 350 GC .

    • Hey mate, also keen on the Pixel 10 Pro XL Moonstone 512gb - $2197,

I'm going to the same castle hill store tomorrow, so do I need to have already online completed the trade in and received email?

I have an s23ultra 512g and got quoted $545 trade in + the $350 bonus mentioned which is fantastic trade in I think for this phone- $895 total.

So do I need to complete online trade in on their link and receive an email voucher for $895 total, or please advise how does it work?

Not interested in doing the Telstra $1400 plan, but I do also have another $250 JB gift card (work gift) which I want to use to stack

Only thing is I won't get the other $400 bonus till after pick up right, so this has to be used in future, no biggie as I'm always shopping at JB hah

Lastly, anyone in particular you dealt with at castle hill?

      • +1

Yes, you can do the preorder online as well if you are not getting the 99 plan.
Yes , you will need to trade -in online get the trade-in coupon before you start the pre-order with JB. No issues to use $350 coupon with outright purchase with all gift cards.

        • Thanks mate, yeah all good, done deal! Super excited to be back to Pixel (had the Pixel 3XL) after all these years of Samsung,

Only thing is they couldn't stack my $10 welcome credit with everything in the one same TX, so I ended up getting the official Pixel case $79 rrp down to $65, then used the $10 credit to bring it down to $55 for the case

They're super helpful in the Castle hill home store, even offered and said ok lets see how many vouchers we can stack for this.

All up out of pocket for the Pixel Pro 10 XL - $652 + $55 for the Pixelsnap Case

Trade in wise the manager their also confirmed no issues waiting for my pick up of new phone before sending in my s23ultra seeing as its preorder they will see its linked to a Pixel 10 Pro XL order as I used the trade-in vouchers and understand, can be 7 days from collection of pre-order, so no need to be phoneless now whilst waiting.

          Now to 'patiently' wait

          • @mes555: How did you get the pixelsnap case for $55?

            • @Rider: lady helping me at the store gave me discount, she asked if I wanted any accessories, I said 'sure um the pixelcase but is there anything you can do for me on the price? otherwise doesn't matter', she said 'I can do it for $65', I said 'ok', then used $10 welcome credit got it down to $55

          • @mes555: Hey mate, Can you DM me the sale reps name? I just went to Castle hill home store and they said it's not stackable.

            • @CyberGamer77: hi mate, I didn't do the Telstra porting so it was no problem for me.

I gave the $350 trade-in coupon, then the rest of the "vouchers" are the JB giftcard ones ie like cash, so no issues stacking them at all.

As you only use the one $350 trade-in coupon, then you can add the phone trade-in jb giftcard voucher (in my case it was the $545 I got for my s23U) + I had a work JB $250 gift card too to use

THe only thing which didn't stack was the $10 welcome credit, which they said since your already using the $350 voucher, you can't stack these two.

So I said ok, Ill buy the pixelcase in a seperate transaction so you can use it.

I'll DM you info about the sales rep (can't remember name though just description)

          • @mes555: nice! was worried about sending the trade in phone to assurant late. cheers mate!

    • Also just got it successfully at Roselands NSW

      • May I know how did you go about it in-store?
Walk in, tell them that you want to trade in a phone for the pixel or tell them you're interested in signing up a phone plan first?
