Bloody hell… well done to those that scored one!

  • Both of my orders have now received confirmation. I ordered one porcelain and one rose at different stores thinking they wouldn't be fulfilled :)

    • well…… dips

    • send over one to me , if extra ;)

  • +1

No SMS / Email for pick up yet, not liking my chances.

    • +1

Just had a call from the JB I ordered through for pick up.

They claimed they have over allocated the phone, but he can order in one from another store - No idea if that will actually happen or not; but I guess we will see come next week if he actually was able to sort my order out with a phone from another store location.

He also gave me the option for refund, but yeah hopefully first option of bringing in one will work out well.

      Fingers crossed.

This is the Amazon way of lowering the price for a limited amount to get the heat then reversing the price back to normal, perfectly matching ozb purposes.

  • +12

Picked mine up already. Wasn't risking a potential cancellation/retraction later in the day :)

    • +1

      Congrats on the score!

  • Can't find for that price anymore

    • +1

Look harder or do you want me to send a direct link?

      • it seem to have gone up again

      • Price is reverted to $1047 on all models now.

  • Ordered one earlier just in time, thank you OP!

The one day I didn't open up OzB in the morning!

    • You are alone my friend we need to hand over our ozbargain license

  • +2

Congrats everyone that scored! I was in middle of trade in form and missed out :(

  • Feels bad getting the 10 pro xl on Monday for $1997 :/

    • Bruh, have you seen the difference between the 9 and 10? It's miniscule.

      • Yea but when I saw the price on 9 pro xl. Was only a few hundreds less. And with tax deduction, trs. The difference was within $200

        • +3

Ahh, different story. Not to worry, these things happen all too often. If you wait until the lowest price, you'll never buy. Enjoy it, it's a great phone.

Just picked up C&C order from werribee. Now time to decide if i need it?

    • +1

You're getting downvoted even though the ozbargain slogan is buy now, think later. Congrats on your purchase. You either have a great phone or you can sell it on to someone else.

Wife liked the phone, we have anniversary next week. Gift sorted. I told her I got this from google store with full price 😁

  • +2

Guys, we need to stop messaging JB on live chat asking if they can do it for $697 - they are not able to haha

"So unfortunately, that one was genuinely just an error, however it is currently on red hot deal for $1047!"

"I've had a couple more people having seen that same price as well :')"

  • +1

For those with battery healthy anxiety, I strongly recommend to avoid checking it all the time. Reddit users are reporting significantly fast degradation. I love the Pixel but this is the reason I won't be purchasing another one after the P8P. I don't need to be reminded that my phone is aging. Scummy Apple psychology.

Shouldn't have slept in Friday morning 😔

    Cheers OP! Just collected

I sold an 8 year old iPhone 7 Plus for $200 on Facebook. How come Pixel phones die in resale price in just 1 year?

  • it was a price error as per chat with JB. Good for those who got in!

    • Yes when seeing the list here XL shouldn't be that price based on increments.

Why do people immediately run to live chat to ask about a price error every time? People did it with the XM6 deal also, just raises the chances of orders being cancelled.

      • It's the Muzeeb effect. That one paid off.

        • +2

          RIP Muzeeb

  • My wifi and BT just died on my fold5 this morning. Sad I missed this deal.

  • Any chance this gets restocked and goes lower for Black Friday? Missed out this morning :(

  • Deal of the year approve! Here is my +1

  • +3

Someone has already put it on Facebook for $1000 lol
    https://www.facebook.com/share/16SJ9uuw9V/

  • No one is gonna buy a new pixel at launch now

    • No one should be buying Pixels at launch regardless. They are known to tank in price quite significantly. This is about all the phone is worth.

wow order shipped with tracking number, thanks op !!

This might suit your small hands and make you feel like life is less of a dumb joke…

This was a price error, they shortly fixed it to $1,047. So for now, if you keen on non xl Pro, this one is the best price. Better to snap it soon, the 256 variants already out of stock everywhere.

  • +5

Yo my order just shipped thanks op have not had a flagship for over 10 years

  • Official phone of ozbargain. Thank you so much.
Shipped and tracked. Phone was running out of updates and needed an updated one. Hopefully using this until 2031 when updates run out.

    • Not shipped for me.
Please allow up to 48 hours for your tracking number to appear here once your order is packed.

      • 🤞🤞

        • +1

Received invoice and order tracking number, seems they are honouring the deal whether it was price error or not.

          • @Sidor: Receiving a tracking number doesn't necessarily mean that the parcel was handed over to the courier yet. Just that an electronic manifest was created through the tracking number and awaiting courier pickup. They can always cancel the order before it's physically handed over to the courier and put it back into stock.

Now does the tracking actually show that it's with the courier. There's a big difference between receiving tracking number and "it's with courier". They always create the electronic (eParcel) tracking label some time before they even package the item into a parcel. It's all totally electronic in a computer.

In other words it doesn't mean that it's actually on its way to you until it updates to "it's with courier" or "out for delivery". It could be still sitting in the sellers warehouse or hadn't actually been packaged up yet.

            • @hollykryten: The tracking number email I got late yesterday arvo said your order is on the way. About 10mins later I received an email from the courier company saying they have the parcel.

  • ATL I guess

  • The one time i don't check ozbargain, i guess i don't actually need it, but what a deal holy!!

  • +1

    My fellow OzBers,
I am calling it; this may have been the phone deal to end all phone deals, even if a lot of us had their order cancelled (including me).
Gee, haven't there been some beauties over the journey? JB's launch offer on the Pixel 8a, with the $200 GC, was epic. The $200 price reduction on the Moto G82, which turned out to be a $299 price reduction because typing error, ruled for quite some time. Heck, I even got a Vivo Y22S that did everything you could want an entry level handset to do, for under 40 bucks. Still works just fine.
Black Friday beckons but it will take some time to unseat this one.
Gentlemen, it's been a privilege flying with you

    • Did this end up being a price error?

      • +1

No it’s not a price error. Mine is on the way as per my Auspost tracking.

Missed many good pixel deals recently and happen to be online at the time this one showed up, so it was just good luck.

But I have to point out the numerous many salty and desperate people up above trying to ruin it for others getting onto online chat and calling up, just chill people more phone deals will show up. If the deal is gone stop being desperate and help those who got it and look out for the next deal it’s why this site is called OzBargain…

Also have to point out there’s a lot of this “if I can’t have it, then they can’t have it” attitude flying around of late…I suggest meet up organisers call out this bullshit behaviour when they happen.

        • +1

First, good on you for getting one.
Second, I am only repeating what I was told.
My order looked good when it went through, then I got the 'Order cancelled' email, listing a few reasons, including using a VPN (I was not running a VPN). I emailed them to ask whether the order could proceed, got no reply.
An hour later I rang the JB store where I wanted to pick it up, got put through to the back room, where the orders are filled. The guy I spoke to was very helpful, told me they had one order that went through (for someone else) and that the price for the remaining stock was up to $1047. At that point he said that "makes it look like a price error".
Not trying to ruin it for others. If they ended up in the right side of this, great. No attitude from this end

        • It just means that your order got shipped out from the warehouse or a store before the the price error notification got sent out to the warehouse or store. You got extremely lucky and slipped through in time.

Also curiously the standard Pixel 9 128GB phone is on sale right now at JB for $697 and gee that's exactly the same price that this pricing error was. It's as if some one accidentally placed the standard Pixel 9 128GB sale price onto the Pro XL 256GB model early in that morning by mistake. Meaning it was a pricing error.

          https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/google-pixel-9-5g-128gb-o…

  • Interestingly these have been removed from the JB website now.

    • Yes because some one stuffed up early yesterday morning and accidentally put the Pro XL 256GB model into a database at $697 which was meant for the standard Pixel 9 128GB. And JB has knee jerk pulled the Pro XL 256GB from the site to probably try and investigate how the massive pricing error happened. You see the Pixel 9 128GB model is on sale right now at you guessed it $697. The price was meant only for the Pixel 9 128GB.

      • Yeah it's impossible for this phone given this price.

  • -2

Pricing error for sure. Lucky for the ones getting it for this price

At least they didn't cancel your order

    • Slipped through the cracks and got shipped out before the store got notified of the pricing error and ordered to cancel all the orders. By then the parcel already got handed over to the courer.

      • Makes me think we seem to have crew here monitoring 7/24 for any opportunity to grab these deals during price error windows….

      • Typo. I meant courier.

      • Well done. Did the stores actually got told of it being a price error? I thought it would've just been clearance price hence all are sold out / not available at the website anymore.

        • Pixel 9 only got released 13 months ago. It's maybe still a little bit early for a pricing clearance.

  • I just came back from picking mine up from the store. No questions asked. Pink 256gb for $697.

    • What time did you place your order if you don't mind sharing.

      • +1

6:40am Friday morning, but I had to choose delivery for extra $6. But later on in the day I found that 1 of my local jb had it in stock, so I called them and told them I place a order for delivery, but I now see that my local had it in stock and if I could change it to pick up instead at my local. They said yes, and they moved my order from the other interstate store to a local pick up. And today I went to pick up the phone. Very smooth from order to pickup.

After missing out yesterday morning. I just went to JB Hi-fi Miranda, they had these incorrect price on display. It was only the rose gold, they had only 1 in stock. They respected the price on display. Also bought the pixel 9 256GB for 697. The receipt says wrong price

  • +1

Mine was delivered this morning, thanks OP!

  • Spoke to JB this morning on the phone from the location I selected for click and collect - they had to order in from another location on Friday (they called me Friday morning confirming they want me to get on in and not refund), sounds like it was sent out to them Friday; fingers crossed next few days will arrive and can pick up. Won't be sure of it until I hopefully get my hands on it, but hopefully all goes smooth.

  • Phone delivered today. Thanks OP.
