you could always list a model and description of an actual product with spec's and that price in the title?
many places advertise upto 50% off storewide but its only a play on word with only 1 or 2 items reduced.
The top 2 in laptop brands that I would not use, even if they were free.

The HP Envy 4 for $349 looks like a good deal. It has 7670m, and a 32gb ssd +500gb hdd.

Went to Innaloo (WA) and they had two HP models advertised for 50% off. But they had no stock.
There was a HP i7 for 50% off = $438 at Carlingford, NSW last Thursday. But there was small pen writing that stated only for display and repaired units only. The display unit looked good for the price, would have grabbed it if I hadn't bought a new laptop 2 months ago.
How do you know ' its on at every store' - how did you get that information since every chain store has increased managerial pricing discretion?
No dick smith posting here unless accompanied by a website link, and a receipt, can be considered an OZ bargain anymore.
I spoke to one of the staff. They also said sale was for new stock as well as demo.
Not on at indro in Brisbane. so definitely not all stores
the sale was on the website but was removed , i am guessing because stocks were mostly sold out. i got a couple of I7's for just under $500 each , but there were some I5's for $399

Just purchased a hp dm 4-3011tx beats audio special edition for 398.50. Core i5 2430, 8GB, 500GB, 7470m, backlit keyboard. Has had hdd swapped out after originally doa. Paid an extra 59 for two years replacement warranty… And yes i know my legal rights but having warranty is much easier.
Apparently a guy came into the local store yesterday and purchased all the 15" models on sale in one transaction.
Under your legal rights they would repair it ( and how long should a $400 laptop last ) , replacement or refund is much easier
Thx OP, it was a long way to drive for me & I had to settle for a display unit but I got the last Envy 4 @ Campbelltown. BTW, the service was good & they held it for me when requested over the phone.
I was just there about 40 minutes ago and it they had no more stock! :( Guess you got the last one.

If it makes you feel any better KimTaeyeon, I found out after purchase that it is the 4-1001TU model without discreet graphics which lists online for about $515 so still not a bad deal but not as good as originally thought. Plus the battery is built-in so I hope it is not worn out from being on display for who knows how long because it was flat when I got it home and I need to test its capacity now to assess wear.
In the photo it clearly shows the 4-1001TX for $349.50. Probably an honest mistake but a bit misleading from dick smith.
