Three Summer Sale, $29 Cap $19 for The First 12 Months

260
BBVH08

The Three Mobile summer sale is on, $29 cap is $19 for the first 12 months. It is applicable to the following mobiles (all free).

  • Nokia 6233
  • Sony Ericsson k600i
  • Sony Ericsson w595
  • Sony Ericsson g502
  • LG KF310
  • Samsung F330

I had a chat to one of the 'online consultants' and she said that the $100 credit on your first bill coupon (BBVH08) would work on top of the $19 for 12 months deal, making it $476 over 24 months ($20/month). I'm not 100% on the coupon thing so if anyone could confirm that would be great.

EDIT: Through MoneyBackCo $24 cashback is available, using the following link: https://secure.moneybackco.com/merchants/3-Mobile/

  • Great deal, I signed up last time they had this offer. 3 are an excellent provider, best switch I've made.

To get an extra $25 credit on your account, you just need someone to refer you. I'd be happy to give referral codes to anyone if they need one (I also get $25 out of it). Just use this link to contact me - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/8678/contact

So, $100 (BBVH08 or NRMA discount) + $25 (referral) +$80 (MoneyBack) is $205 in credit. At $19/m, and assuming you don't go over the cap, you wouldn't pay a bill for over 10 months (I signed up about 7 months ago and still haven't paid one cent to them).

    Definitely a bargain!

    • It seems moneyback is only available for broadband service, isn't it?

    • This is a joi deal! but how do you get all of these extra discounts, like the $100, $25 and the $80 money back.

    • Unfortunately I am not 100% sure whether or not the $80 applies - it is likely for just broadband, in which case the rebate would be more along the lines of $30.

To get the rebate, you simply put in the code as you sign up online, or mention you have an NRMA card and you are eligible for a $100 credit. The MoneyBack credit is sent to your nominated bank account and the $25/$100 credit is applied on your bill.

So your first bill will have "credit" for $125, less the $19. Your next bill will be credited $104, less $19. The money will keep coming off the 'credit' amount until you are in 'debit', at which point you owe them money. To give you an idea, my account statement says this - "ACCOUNT IN CREDIT - DO NOT PAY"

    • Whats the story with a referral? Is that a referral from an existing customer? Will that work if I purchase online?

      • referral is given by a current customer to new customer.
it'll still work even if you purchase online.

you just need to give your email addres/ mob ph number so current cust can send you the code.
that way, you'll get $25 and the one who give u also get $25

ppl can refer up to 10 (max)

so if you need a referrer please let me know as well :)

  • Be aware, unlike the old $29 caps, the minimum spend is $29(or $19 after credit).

  • Just looking at other phones and saw this. I'm not posting it as a deal because it's not really that great, but on the left of the phone info page, it says "Are you a 3 Customer? Buy an additional Postpaid mobile today and get 3 months 1/2 price on your cap"

  • Also it might be worth putting the expiry date - 14 Feb 09

  • So, which is the best phone out of the four?

  • can we make this more clear? im a little confused.

    so the deal is

    $19 for first 12 months, $29 thereafter
BBVH08 coupon for $100 credit on first bill
and a cashback offer - what exactly? is it just a once off $24 rebate?

    • Pretty much right..
the $100 credit is $100 credit for the life of the contract (it doesn't expire within the first month)
and yes, the $24 rebate is a once off. you must be a member of moneybackco and enter three's website from moneybackco's website to get the rebate applied. (moneybackco charge an annual fee to be a member, but my rebates so far have paid for it and more)

        • Regarding the $100 promotional credit - i have put in the promotional code and it says:

        FREE stuff:
$100 Credit on your first bill

So can someone confirm this $100 is in fact only off your calls made in the first month, or does it extend to the actual $19 repayments (which is approx 5mths free?) If it says 'first bill' im sure this means 'first bill only'.

        • $100 is off the bill. Anything you put on the bill, calls, sms's, repayments, whatever…

          • @neil: To be more precise, they put a $100 credit. Your first bill is say only $19, then you have $81 credit on your second bill.

  • Yup…saw on liverpool last night….pretty good deal though

  • I Like the w595, but the lack of camera flash is a bit of a deterrant.

Which would be best phone for camera usage?

  • The online assistant person on three's web site said this offer has been upgraded to "$19 cap for 24 months".
I clarified, re-clarified, and re-re-clarified, and the reply was a firm "$19 cap for 24 months, not 12 months".

    • +1

I contact the online assistance person again and clarified the deal, however the chat ended abruptly.

      A screenshot is found here.

      http://www.4freeimagehost.com/show.php?i=560ecf5aff43.gif

So, it is appears that the deal $19 cap a month for the length of the contact.

      PS:
Scotty, I am not sure whether the chat session is allowed to be made public, although I believe it to be the case on the basis that the information provided is meant for the general public.

  • One question, can $19 cap discount and $100(BBVH08 discount) be together? I tried to select one mobile, and it appeared FREE stuff: $19 Summer Sale. But after I entered the special code, it became FREE stuff: $100 Credit on your first bill. The previous free stuff was gone. Is there anyone notice this?

  • same dilemma here as with coolgoz.can $19 cap discount and $100(BBVH08 discount) be used together? also the deal is only available if you live in 3's broadband zone.my location falls in to threes talk and text zone and would this mean i am not allowed to sign on for the deal?

  • This is a bargain!

  • if anyone is after a referel code to get 25$ credit on their plan msg me on http://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/14429/contact.

i will hook you up with a code.
