Free High-Quality Printed Custom Map of a Destination/City of Your Choice Delivered from KLM

780

KLM have a new Google Maps based application that allows you to create a map for an upcoming trip that includes all the places that you want to visit.

KLM Pack & Go enables you to create a map of places that you wish to visit and KLM will then send you a high-quality printed map of your selections - for free. You can share your on-line Google Map with your Facebook and Twitter friends and they can also add tips to your map of the places that they recommend you visit.

The terms and conditions of the offer mention that the free map offer only runs 'while stock lasts'. So if you want a free custom printed map you had better move fast.

As of submission there are 18,000+ maps available. This hasn't hit the bargain sites yet, so you have a good chance. I selected Melbourne as a test but there are loads of other cities to pick from. I added some coffee shops, cafes, pois, to the map. Quite useful if you are traveling to a foreign city.

For clarity: KLM print the map and send it to you in the mail. You need to first save your map (bottom left button) and then the Order my free map button.

Via [Google Maps Mania] A great blog if you are into your Gmap mashups.

  • Heading to KL on Sunday and would've found this super useful!

Ordered one for my Shanghai trip that I OzBargained recently. Nothing like making good use of a deal for a.. deal.

  • Thanks for this.

  • Seems to resize/re-orient the map when you save it and go back to it. Just be mindful if you're looking to print out a very specific area.

what are the physical dimensions of the map?

  • Thanks! This'll be very handy when I go to Japan next month, since Google won't let you save Japanese maps offline, for some reason…

  • Great thanks! My parents are coming to visit me in Melbs so this can keep them busy. It does say that it may take serveral weeks to deliver, FYI

  • I might just order a blank map. I don't like the idea of adding placemarks, I'm sure I'll miss something if I do.

You know what would be nice though? An option to print a world map where you could placemark all the cities/countries you have visited :)

You can always get free maps in every tourist info centre

  • It doesn't seem to be working for me :( Nothing happens when I click 'create my own free map', in both Chrome and IE.

  • I tried to do a Singapore map and to my horror, it says Singapore is a city in China.
Thats like saying Australia is part of the UK.

It may be free, but I'm not so sure if its worth our time bug-testing for them.

  • Great offer.

    Thanks for the post.
