ignoring the unproven link between cancer and artificial sweetner, Pepsi Next uses 'Stevia' (natural) not 'Aspartame'

      mmmmmm, sweet sweet ignorance

      • But only partly, it still uses 70% of the sugar of the normal Pepsi, if their 30% less claim is correct. So I'll give it a miss on that account.

Pepsi doesn't seem to have much luck marketing Next.

        • I think Pepsi were the only ones who couldn't see this product failing hard, even before it was launched.

          70% sugar? Srsly?

There are two kinds of cola drinkers. There are the ones who don't give a toss about all the sugar and drink the "heavy" versions, and the ones who do give a toss about all the sugar so have gone through the pain of learning to drink [1] the no-sugar versions.

Neither of those groups is going to get excited about something with 70% as much sugar. It's not the "real" stuff, and it's still loaded full of sugar.

I was puzzled when I first saw it hit the shelves. I'm less puzzled now it's clearing off the shelves.

[1] Been there, done that. At first, the metallic chemical taste is unpleasant. Then you get used to it. Then you get cancer and alzheimers and die (or whatever the current facebook share-d'jour claims).

Yeah, see what a prodigy you can be when you don't drink Next? LOL

        • Would have helped if you referenced what you were hinting about in your first post. Last time one of the next deals were posted people complained about the "artificial sweeteners".

Re your point: If you are going to drink high sugar soft drink anyway you might as well drink Next and remove 30% of the sugar.

Looks like you are caressing the box in the photo :P

You should see what went on just moments after it was taken!!!! :)

Photo bombed by the other half - she got a goldfish last week and called it Pepsi - probably was caressing it

  • While theres not as much sugar in this as normal Pepsi, there's still quite an amount compared to Pepsi Max or Light

yeah but MAX is full of artificial crap for sugar where Stevia is natural…

  • Same at Box Hill in VIC however, BB date is 7 March 2013.

  • Warr Mall - 20 Feb 2013 expiry. Still they'll probly go for months.

I prefer this to Pepsi but not diet coke. Doubt it'll get better tasting than this with Stevia.
