  • Paid $5 for Kingston 2GB @ Harvey Norman on boxing day. Sign said normal price was $9.95, still a better deal for twice the capacity and much better brand (arguably the best brand)

    • Kingston arguably the best brand??
Corsair and Sandisk are rated much higher than Kingston as far as I'm aware.
Kingston is close to the middle at best.

      • well kingston drives are the most popular by far. You hardly even see corsair and sandisk drives.

I think it's fair to say it's arguably the best. Of course different drives are… different.

  • Dont really think this is that incredible of deal. 1GB is a bit of an awkward size now with the 4GB+ sizes availble. People through these ones around all the time in promotional material.

    • Did you mean to say 'throw'?? as in "People through these ones around all the time in promotional material."

Your comment seems a bit strange to tell you the truth - how could 1gb be called an 'awkward' size? It's actually still quite big and this is quite a good price. I bought 512mb USB drives from Officeworks to put a mixtape on for friends before Christmas for $4.95 and was happy with that price. This gives me double the space for the same price.

      I think it's a good deal.

    • I need to get in on more of these promotional materials then - I have stacks of pens :P
I'm probably one of the few IT majors that have never owned a USB stick ever.

    • Should have previewed it. Yes I meant throw.

As in some company sends you a promotional pack with a USB stick in it with some videos and the like.

I find 1GB awkward because I never am able to fit enought stuff on it. I find my 4GB suits better for media etc.

This isn't really a deal considering you are paying $5 for a single Gig.

I've seen 4GB USB drives being sold for less than $20.

    Here's a Kingston 4GB for $12
http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/product.php?id=2299 (probably a bad example considering their rip-off $10 shipping fee)

    as all above comments!

not really a big bargain to rush to Officework just for this,
1GB is not big enough for these days requirement!
and 1GB usually sell around this price, mostly $7 in some PC shops!
