    • Hi Mikeologos.

Thanks for your interest in ServersINseconds' deal.

The offer you've linked to is clearly a massive loss leader, and you can expect the price to go up significantly at some point. They're not running that offer from the kindness of their hearts, hosting is a business.

With ServersINseconds we're straight up with you that in the future, those signing up with us with this offer will have to pay $4 per month after the first year.

With the offer you link to, they don't inform you when or by how much the price will increase, and it will.

Apart from that, our services are better. We do 1 hour guaranteed email response times, 24/7 phone sales and technical support, and much larger quotas of all features.

We're not for everybody, but for the small amount you do pay, you get a whole lot back.

      Matt Goodwin
      ServersINseconds

      • Well, I currently have my mothers website hosted with them. Queries answered in about 30 mins each (by email) + I spoke to an Australian lady on the phone. And no credit card was required, it was FREE. Only an ABN needed.

Not here to hijack your deal. But, hosting is hosting. if you want bells and whistles you pay for them. What bells and whistles do you offer?

        • Well for starters there's our SLA. No other host offers the full month of your web hosting plan paid back to you, if 20+ minutes downtime should occur.

That means literally pay for performance web hosting. If our servers go down, it costs us real money, and that being the case you can be assured that the server's uptime is our top priority.

We also add support to our SLA. If your issue needs addressing urgently, as something is broken, we back up our response times with our SLA. You may well get 5 minute "we got your email and we're looking at it" response times from other hosts during business hours, but we not only acknowledge your email, but investigate it fully with the information you provide us in your support ticket, and still get back to you with a detailed result of our investigation within the hour.

You'd have to try one of our plans, and have a technical issue to see what I'm talking about, but I'm good to my word.

Quotas and features are also better, and as I stated above, you know what you'll be paying now and in the future.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, just let me know.

        • Good points, but to summarise. We will give you your money back if we experience downtime. Vs… Free

People using this sort of stuff doubt care about downtime (beyond an hour or so), my mother for example uses her website for a freelance editing business, she's very happy that shedoesnt have to pay a cent for hosting. Just a very few dollars to daddy for the domain.

        • +1

People put all kinds of things on websites. Pictures of cats can definitely be hosted on a free host, and many people use them to communicate with their cat loving friends.

Businesses doing multiple orders per hour or even minute do care though. It costs them time and money if a website goes down, and that goes even more for a professional hosting business offering the SLA we do.

Buy hey, paying money for hosting isn't for everyone. There was a thriving ad-supported hosting market at one point in the 90s. We'll be there though, if or when you see the value in what we do. It's likely you wont move until you experience the pitfalls of not paying something though, and at that point I think you'll see what I mean tonight.

Good luck with your host, and may they continue to provide you something for nothing into the distant future.

I think it's unreasonable for you to compare with FREE product, hosting is a business, why bother asking for a price match, just stay with your current one if its that great.

I for one would not have a problem supporting a small business(edit: maybe not so small i don't know lol) by paying $4 per month for a business website that i know i will get a response to, hey it's all tax deductible and will not break the bank.

  • Matt, Can you do me a discount on the Value AU plan. I already am hosted with you guys.

    • No worries Moots, I know your account.

We'll do the Value AU plan for $6.50/M for you, when it's normally $8 per month, if you use PayPal or a yearly direct deposit.

I know you currently use month-by-month direct deposits, but they take time to individually process. We can offer you the $6.50 price if you use PayPal or pay yearly.

If that's ok by you, just let us know, and I'll create a promo code for you.

Logged in purely to give a +1 and to comment on how decent the replies were in this thread.

$4 a month, seriously, even that's cheap for a quality product… I know it's ozbargain, but damn this site has a habbit of turning people into the ultimate cheapskates lol

If I can find a reason to host a domain in the next few weeks, will def be signing up. If not purely for the good customer service shown in this thread.

    • Hi Yekul.

Thanks for the +1 and your support.

I'm happy to help clarify anything about our services, even if it's why paid hosting is worth the small price compared with "free" hosts, so it's really no drama.

We'll be happy to host any site you may have for us, and we do deals regularly on here so in the future you should find one if you need it down the line.

      Thanks again.

That being said, we'll do you your first two months half price if you'd like, on any reseller plan. If you're interested, please let us know which reseller plan you're interested in, and I'll get a special promo code made for you.

  • Hi Matt,
    I have a question.

I don't have a website at present but for our company have a few email addresses such as [email protected].

My current provider uses cpanel / roundcube.

Anyway, what is the term for what I have, is it "hosting"?
I am due for renewal in a month so just wished to know, so I might try your company.

Edit - just realised your business service is $19/month.
    Any specials on that?

    • Hi mick123.

Thanks for considering ServersINseconds for your requirements, and your interest in our bargain.

The term for just using hosting for email is email hosting. With our plans, you're welcome to use the plan for either email hosting, website hosting, or both.

We use cPanel too, and can do a migration of your account for free, and this will ensure an uninterrupted service during your move to us.

Our Business AU plan is for sites that require more than your average disk space, bandwidth, or other resources. You're welcome to sign-up for your business on our Value AU or Starter AU plans too, but I'd recommend going for at least the Value AU plan as it's more suited for doing business on the web.

For the Business AU plan, we can do the same deal as you see here - 50% off for the first year, then the standard price from then on. If you're interested in this offer, just let us know and we'll create a promo code for you.

      Thanks again.

      • Hi Matt,
Not much info about you on the web.
Can you advise how often and how long you seem to have "down times".
Maybe let me know the approx figures from Jun-Dec last year.
I only ask as not much info found on your company online.

        • Hi Mick.

That's fine, I'm happy to help.

Over the June to December period there was an unscheduled downtime of the MySQL service on one shared hosting server on 23/12/12, with MySQL connections failing. Even though HTML/CSS/Javascript sites were online, because of the MySQL outage we paid out on our SLA.

While a reasonably good period is not indicative of future performance, it's not a long report.

We make no secret that we use high-end hardware, very experienced admins, a premium datacentre, and multiple levels of software monitoring and reporting systems, and that's what we achieved.

If there's anything else I can help you with, feel free to reply here, email me directly at [email protected], or give our support/sales staff a call on 03 9005 7723.

  • The only reason I don't go with your company for my business hosting is the fact that a dedicated IP costs $10 a month which is insane

    • Hi rldowling03.

I don't like the situation with the dedicated IPs pricing either. We don't make any money providing dedicated IPs, and simply pass on the cost from our datacentre to our clients ($10 per month). We pay the same rate for our IPs.

I actually queried our datacentre regarding the cost of IPs, and this was their response:

"As you may be aware, APNIC have totally exhausted IP's and are not
allocating any more to anyone, so we need to buy them at the market rate.

The U.S., on the other hand, is allocated vastly more IP space than our
pacific region. They value their IPs at $11.00 or $12.00 each. For your
      information, please click on the following links;
      http://www.theregister.co.uk/2 011/03/24/microsoft_ip_spend/
      http://www.theregister.co.uk/2 011/12/05/borders_flogs_ipv4_a ddys/

The fact the we've been allocated far less IPs than the U.S. makes our
IPs more valuable than the prices quoted above. Taking this into
consideration, I believe that charging $10.00 per IP is not excessive,
rather, it's well priced under the circumstances.

Unfortunately, it's for this reason that we don't offer discounts for
bulk purchases of IPs, being a limited resource."

So you can see we've done everything in our power to negotiate a better rate, but have been unsuccessful.

I'm sorry to hear this is a deal breaker for you, and of course if you do have any services you'd like hosted with us we're happy to help.

      • Ahh. That explains it then. I understand now why they do cost more. It's a shame, but hopefully the IPv6 rollout will not be too far away from general use

  • Matt, can you please comment if you offer wordpress hosting. I was planning to go with godaddy but your price is cheaper then godaddy plus a big tick for great support.

    • Hi master1.

Sure, we definitely do WordPress hosting. We even offer a one-click install option for it in our control panel (along with 250+ other one-click install scripts).

You can have your WordPress hosting setup and installed in minutes after you order, and we support it if you need any assistance setting it up.

Thanks for the kind words about our support, and we look forward to having you on board with us.

      Thanks.

  • Good deal guys.

Any plans of introducing VPS/Dedicated Servers in the future? Always looking at cost effective hosts when it comes to that stuff.

    Cheers.

    • Hi DockIt.

      Thanks for the support.

We can certainly do a deal on a VPS or dedicated server. We don't currently advertise them on our site, but if you send through to me a rough guideline of the specs you need for the server, and the amount of bandwidth you need, I'll get you a quote. Email me at [email protected].

      Thanks again.

  • Hi Matt,

With the emails what is the max inbox size I can have? I notice some hosting places have a limit of about 250mb. Does yours? I don't see anything on your website. Also, your link in the FAQ:
    http://www.serversinseconds.com.au/faq/hosting-faq.html
    to
Full list of email & statistics FAQs
    is not working.

    Thanks,
    Michael

    • Hi Michael.

I pressed the wrong reply button. My response is below on this Ozbargain page.

      Matt Goodwin
      ServersINseconds

  • Hi Michael.

Firstly, thanks for the heads-up on the broken FAQ link. I've fixed it now.

With the mailbox size (and resource limits generally) - we have a rule of thumb that you're fee to use as much disk space for your email as is necessary, unless it starts to effect the performance of the server as a whole.

Your 500MB plus email account should be well within our limits, assuming it isn't being checked by hundreds of people regularly. Can you give me the exact size of your email inbox? If it's under 2GB it's fine, and you can just sign-up.

    Thanks again.

  • Hi Matt,
Any discount on the Value AU plan atm?
I'm not currently hosted with you but very interested.

    Cheers,

    • Hi Chris.

We don't have a deal on the Value AU plan at the moment, but we're happy to do one for you.

If you're interested in the Value AU plan for $6.50 per month (when it's normally $8 per month), just reply here and I'll send you a promo code.
