I got mine last week from Bing Lee Chinatown in Sydney 32gb for $256 from $299 after telling them that I could pricematch at the Officework for $255 but couldnt be bothered to walk there.

No need to wait for delivery and comes with AC adapter!

Charging via USB is slow, COTD is notoriously bad, and Android 4.1 is NOT the "latest version of Google’s mobile platform".

    • Yup. You're right. I just cut/pasted the description from COTD. Agree that charging via USB is hopeless. But I suppose an A/C wall charger can be bought.

    • Waiting for the battery to recover and then it's Upgrading to 4.2.2 time, B1

2nd Gen Nexus 7 slated for May release which is only 2-3 months away btw. Rumored to have S4 and 1080p

New models of current models slated for release in future months. Rumoured to have new features compared to existing features.

      • Pfft to the neg.

I'm not telling people not to buy it, I'm simply updating people on news so they can make an informed decision for themselves. Sure rumours aren't reliable but the release dates for the Nexus products have been in the past. Some people might be sore about getting it today only to find out that it will be superseded in 3 months.

  • Same deal as before: AC Adaptor not included (charges via included USB cable)

I got one yesterday for $227.05 from OW
Get them to price match techrific who has it for 239. It took me a few goes to get it though.

    • Not reliable as most metropolitan OW are wise onto the game.

The Nexus 7 is a solid tablet, I really quite like it. I agree though, no local charger is kinda crap. I am curious of the quality of USB cable they supply with it too, would it be good enough to suck 2A from a 2A USB charger you already have at home? Probably not, unless it's the official one, in which case it will.

I know it's not a deal per se, but look on Gumtree, I got mine with the plastic still on it for $200. Same model as above.
