Just bought one! Series 5 but I compare with series 8 & not much difference excepted for:
- No Webcam
- Not sure if you can plg wireless keyboard & mouse to use as computer though…I knew it works with other Samsung series 5 (LED).

  Might not be worth mentioning but I bought a HiFi system from BBB I had to open it because the antenna PCB was misaligned, no biggy just curious where they source thier products?

  Great price, I bought one last year for $1700 from jb hifi. I don't think anything else right now beats it for bang-for-buck. Couple of minor points, unfortunately mine suffers the usual "Samsung Buzz", but since I've already got a bit of tinnitus it doesn't bother me too much. No RCA outputs (I have it hooked up to a spare old amp) so I bought a cheap toslink to RCA adapter to connect it. No headphone output either. Stand is quite flimsy for a heavy TV - one day I'll wall-mount it. The "Smart TV" stuff is a bit of a novelty, I have a PS3 and xbox connected to it but if you don't have that, the iview, sbs catchup services are handy. Reflective screen if watched during daytime and near a window. If you have a tablet/smartphone, you can download the samsung remote programs to use as input, which… sort of.. works, sometimes.

  That all said, I still reckon it's good value :) Will tell my mum about this deal because she wanted to get my TV and this price is great.

  Beware OzBarginers…

  I purchased this TV 7 months ago and turned it on yesterday and now have a red line running from top to bottom. Samsung tech came over today and advised that it is a common issue with this TV. They will replace the panel under warranty, but the replacement panel only has a 3 month warranty. I will be getting a replacement LED. This is an old plasma!

    Confusing, you mean to say you will be buying a replacement for your TV in the form of an LED LCD TV. Not that the replacement panel is LED. Because that would be downright … What is the word?

    BTW buying who is to say your replacement TV is this good of value or has no issues in itself. Technology, it happens.

    losung, your TV (including the new panel) still has it's original manufacturers warranty (I'm assuming it is 12 months), so that means you still 5 months of manufacturers warranty left, even on the replacement panel. On top of this you have a statutory warranty that may give you a longer warranty period.
