TimeOut

Little Birdy Tix is offering Time Out readers $15 off its membership price. Use the code 'Time Out' and a year of free event tickets will be yours for $40. Your annual Little Birdy Tix membership entitles you to up to 2 tickets per event, subject to availability, for as many events as you wish to attend.

This seems like a good deal even at the full price ie. for the initial upfront payment see as many shows as possible in 12 months. Don't see any blockbusters in the list of upcoming events but its still a new concept.

  • From their member benefits page: WHY ARE THESE TICKETS FREE?
Promoters list tickets with Little Birdy Tix to help promote their events. Word of mouth is the best and most cost effective way to publicise an event and bring in a paying audience. Little Birdy Tix asks that if you enjoy the events you see, you tell everyone you know not to miss it!!

  • Searched NSW for any event, on any day, and got this message:

"Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." Damn.

Quite a few in Victoria and South Australia, though!

  • great concept of marketing but like other said 'only a few events'. still giving + though

Sorry, the promotion or discount code you entered is not valid or may have reached its limit. Please enter a valid promotion or discount code and try again.

    • I just used the code without issue. May have got in just in time.

  • My mistake. It worked. You need to put it capitals

Time Out rather than Time out

It is slightly scammy. You go there, say for example to http://www.littlebirdytix.com/event/chris-taylor-the-taylor-… - and it says "Ticket limit per person: 2 - Login or Join Now to view"

You pay $40, log in, and reload that page and it says "Ticket limit per person: 2 - Allocation exhausted."

The Adelaide shows with tickets available at time of writing are:

    Tommy Dassalo – Spread
Bulmers Best of the Edinburgh Fest
Best of the Fest Late Show
Facty Fact – Late Night Comedy Game Show
    MKA: SOMA by Tobias Manderson-Galvin
MKA: 22 Short Plays by David Finnigan
MKA: UnSex Me by Mark Wilson
The Chipolatas present – Gentlemen of the Road
Georgia Germein Sisters – Single Launch

Wish I'd known about this at the start of the Fringe before everything else booked out.

Sorry for the triple post. But just a heads up. Most of the events, mostly films in vic have had their free tickets exhausted. Only about 3-4 events such as comedy skits are left..

  • I've been a member for a few months (in Melbourne) and its been good so far - covered the cost of my membership which was full price at the time. The tix can go quickly so you need to jump on them when they come up.

Seen some good shows I wouldn't otherwise have seen, and found some new quirky little venues.

    • Another one to check out is http://www.on-the-house.org/ - similar concept, but free membership and you pay a small amount per ticket - which over the year could end up being similar or more, but no upfront commitment.

      • Not many current events either.

  • Just used the code and still works!

  • Didn't work for me, must have expired in March.
