I don't think OW will price match because iTunes discounts are only Store specific, meaning BigW gets the 'deal' this time.. someone else gets it other times..
I have received price match with the extra 5% discount from OW, but it usually takes about 10 minutes at the checkout. Not because they don't want to do it, it's because OW treats itunes cards differently. The till's standard price-matching menu apparently doesn't work, it just brings up a message, and a supervisor has to assist.
I was listening to the supervisor tell the checkout girl how to do the discount, and it sounded like there was a specific menu just for discounting itunes cards.
This is good for people like me who have EB gift cards from trading. Also, a lot of stores don't like price matching iTunes cards (something about Apple striking special deals with stores and providing them with rebate, whereas if a second store then price matches that deal… they won't get the rebate). So, thanks for posting.
There have been comments here on OzB from previous itunes deals, where they had the same problem with OW staff refusing to pricematch. They wrote to OW's complaints section, and reportedly received a free itunes card and an apology.
That's a nice gesture from OW… would have been cheaper to price match in the first place, but nice nevertheless!
