  • That's so cheap; bought mine for $75 late last year, and it did come with a WiFi usb thingo

  • Nearly bought one yesterday for $80, so priced dropped since yesterday. A bit more digging suggested this is the problematic V.1 (though happy to be wrong).

    Runs Gargoyle Firmware though.

  • +2

    DDWRT compliant

  • most likely v1.. they must have trouble pushing it out..

would you be able to bridge this with a billion 7700N?

    • I have mine bridged with a Billion 7800NL so I would think so yes :)

  • Is this v1 or v2?

    • 8MB = V.1 (online specs could be wrong though)

  • whats the problem with V1?

    • +1

      http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-reviews/313…

After reading that review, the differences seem marginal.
Software support from the manufacturer is no longer available, but I'll be flashing an Open Source Firmware as soon as I open the box anyway.

      • What is the problem if I don't flash DD-WRT? I'm not a geek (please take that as a compliment).

        • Old, buggy software that will never be fixed cause the manufacturer would rather you buy a new router than them fixing their buggy software..
DD-WRT (and similar other Open Source router firmwares) are continuously being updated to squash bugs and usually expand the feature-set of the hardware.

  • awesome deal, if only it supported USB printer sharing I'd be ordering one right now instead of typing this…

    • ddwrt supports printers and seems like its back in stock now.

    • Use it as a printer ( my printer is too far from all in one modem ) and gigabit switch .

Very good deal for upgrading .

  • anyone received the cashback giftcard and activated successfully?
I received mine today but the activation failed when tried the PIN written on the letter.

    • I had the same problem, try 8888 for authentication code it worked for me.

  • This product is out of stock.

  • What speed wirless N is it? 300?

    • 300+300

      • That is to say 300 on both 2.4 and 5GHz channels

        • yup.

  • Thanks, Pity its out of stock now

  • Out of stock, ozbargained…

    • +8

I believe that most stores are looking to replace their 'out of stock' stickers with 'Ozbargained' stickers.

My closest store from Perth is 10-12 Cohen Street Belconnen ACT. Bing Lee, when are you coming to Perth WA?

    • I happened to be on Cohen Street when I saw that comment. Woah!
Canberra used to be like that, WA and NT seem to be the only places left that make you feel like you live in an entirely different country…

  • I've had this router for some time now and love it. You can set up 2 networks per channel if you choose. $25 is a cracking deal. No wonder it got OzB'd!

  • +2

    @$@#%$$% OzBargain!!!!11!one!!!! no time to think/research….

first rule of OzB, buy first ask questions later……..
second rule of OzB, you read this far and not bought yet?

PS yep expired and i missed out

    • +2

Should have done what I did,
Put it in your cart, gone through to checkout and then researched.

  • +1

JUST GOT ONE! NOT EXPIRED FOR ME. thought it wasnt going to go through but it did!

  • Still seems to be able to checkout online — free shipping and all that. The whole BingLee website just seems to be very slow.

  • just bought mine, still showing as in stock online

  • Not me

This product is currently out of stock.

    • In stock for me, and I just purchased it.

  • Will this do the trick if I am looking at a cheap gigabit 4 port hub / router ?

    • yes. you can use a router as a switch without using any of the routing features.

      • I have a Netgear modem and was also wondering will the internal ip address we the same and cause any issues when I want to access the set up page ?

        • +1

Disable the DHCP in this router

        • and change the static IP address

        • Thanks to both of you.

  • just got one too…thanks op!

  • Nah its Out of Stock for sure now

  • I managed to grab one even though it was saying out of stock online. I just kept retrying and I guess somebody had one in their basket that they then released. Free shipping, at $25 after the current cashback offer you can't go wrong, even if it is a v1 model.

    • I guess somebody had one in their basket that they then released

nope. im on there (painfull slow) live chat with one in my cart that i cant checkout with and they told me that they dont get reserved when they are in your cart. i was all the way through signing up etc by the time they went out of stock again and still missed out…. again…..

edit: my guess is they found a box or 2 behind the fridge etc and added them to there online stock.

  • Everytime I tried to pay at checkout gave an undefined error….

  • awesome.. got one before it went out of stock the 2nd time.

time to retire my pocket size wifi router..

  • Geez, at this price I feel ripped off paying $125 at Officeworks, after they price-matched MSY, early last year.

  • Ben: Hello, is Netgear - WNDR3700 - Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router available at the Chatswood store? I am after 2 items.

    • Says in stock at Guilford store online search a few minutes ago. Enter postcode 2144 and search free in store pickup.
Also tried 2000 and in stock at haymarket , bond I etc.

  • Hmm just what I needed to push me over the edge for the $499 Changhong LED (Changhong). http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95868

Spending over $500 using AMEX give's you another 5,000 points (enough points for a $40 gift voucher).

Can we trust their website for store's stock levels?

  • -1

after putting up with there painfully slow online chat thingo….. YAY they found one somewhere and are going to send it out to me :) :)

thanks OP, double thumbs up :)

    • I'm getting no where with their live chat- claiming it's impossible they have stock.

      Prospect store has stock only

  • Bought one at carlingford. It had $199 on the box but I showed the salesman a print out of the $55 offer on the website and he discounted it for me.

  • Out of stock in less than 2 hours??? always happens when I really need one..

  • aweeee

  • Got the last one at Armidale at 5:30pm. Even got it for $52.00 and it's a V2. You jelly? :D

You guys still do LAN parties at Smith house ?
      Ahhh the memories.

      • Haven't been to one of those for about 9 years ha. Who knows, the nostalgic part of me likes to think they're still on.

    • Mines v2 as well :-)

  • Has anybody tried taking a rain check?

    • asked the staff and online today, no more at all

  • still 'processing'???

  • You are now chatting with 'yenta'
    yenta: Good Afternoon
Tony: i wanted to check on something that is still 'processing'
    Tony: 100012345
yenta: we still awaiting for the stock Tony, not sure yet if we are getting the stock

  • Delivery man showed up at the door this morning. Got a v2. Surprise surprise! Wish you all good luck!

    • +2

One week later and still no sign of mine, you're lucky!

  • +1

    Still havent received mine!

  • Talked to BingLee rep, they say it's gonna take 2 more weeks to deliver but the cashback finishes on the 10th of April.

I think I will cancel my order..

  • +1

    yeah ima cancel this crap.

  • +2

My order is also still "processing". No ETA on stock for me either. It said they had stock when I ordered a fortnight ago, they were happy enough to take my money but they can't give me any indication on when I might actually get what I paid for ? They flat out won't compensate you if you miss out on a manufacturer cashback offer. A pretty poor way to treat their customers, can't say I'll be inclined to order from them again.

  • where is that damn Bing Lee rep? they need to be clear and honest whats happening

    • they have no eta now

you can always do a live chat and see what they say (which will be most likely nothing)

  • refunded

    • I'm inclined to push for this now too..

EDIT: Cancelled.. was as easy as replying to webcustomerservice requesting a cancellation with the order confirmation email in-line.

  • also got mine refunded

  • i should mention that after all the crap i went to, on there online chat for ages etc…. i finally got an email informing me they had no stock and they cancelled my order…..

poor form bing lee, this is one new customer you lost even before i bought anything.

    • What how come I didn't get any email?

      • They dont love you enough

  • for those thinking about cancelling their order. don't, I just received an email stating that mine is on it's way!

    • yes and the cash back applications have now closed!
