Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter $3.99 Delivered from Topbuy (Limited Quantity)

381

Someone posted a pretty bad deal on lightning to 30pin adapter so I went and look at how much do these things cost. It appears that the cheapest you can buy is around $4 delivered on eBay. Or you can buy from TopBuy, an Australian shop, which is now doing $0 promotion and you need to pay $3.99 postage.

Currently it says "Limited Stock" so I have no idea how many they are selling for $0 + postage.

Edit: It appears the OzBargain community has already found elsewhere cheaper:

    "Notice:It doesn't support Audio!"

What adapter to you need to make audio work on a 30 pin music player dock?

    • +1

Only the genuine Apple ones do audio currently

    • The only one I have been able to get working with my TDK and Logitech docks has been the $35 one I bought from the Apple store back in November (a little cheaper now).

I bought 2 off the below link (posted on OzBargains a few weeks ago) and they do everything except play music off the dock (charges only). I am using them on my laptop with the 30 pin cable and it charges, synchronises, allows me to load music onto my iPhone and play music via iTunes.

If anyone finds one that does docks too I'd be interested.

If you don't need audio support and just want it to charge and sync then this one is less than $2 delivered.

I bought from DX last time and it arrived in about 1-2 weeks.

    • you mean $3.85?

      and it says

Supports analog audio output, USB audio

so i'm guessing this does audio output as well?

    Looks like a good deal.

Although I was inclined to upvote simply in comparison to the other linked deal. That was just terrible…

    • Agreed…

  • Nice one, cant really complain with this price…

  • $1.99 delivered http://www.buyincoins.com/new_en/details/lightning-8-pin-to-…

why pay more to buy from topbuy when they will just be dropshipping?

  • Looks like this adaptor has a lip so looks like it may b compatible with a case?

silly question but what do these actually do / what are they for ? haha im clueless

Apple just likes to screw their loyal fans over and over again. They 'innovated' a new dock connector on the iPhone 5 and thus any old accessories won't fit and that where these adaptors come to play

    • it's to do with miniaturization - something most consumer electronics companies place high emphasis on due to user demand.

Maybe I just like conspiracy theories but I don't think that was the reason.

  • IMO these things are completely useless if you can't use them for Audio. You can just buy new cables for less money rather than using old cables with one of these adapters.

  • Does anyone know how to hook up Ipad mini to TV through HDMI?
This particular 8-pin to 30pin adaptor will work when I connect HDMI to the 30pin VIA the 8pin<->30pin adaptor?

    I thought it read.

    "Limited Quality"

  • Sorta related.
I just paid for a $25 iphone 5 lightning cable. bah! how stupid of me…

I had bought the $8 delivered ones from posts here, they break or don't work properly.
Is there anywhere else you can buy genuine lightning cables but not for $25?

  • The main point of buying one of these is for audio and using to adapt your current dock/speaker. Without audio capabilities, it's just plastic junk. I mean, you can charge using the cable and/or adapter that came with your phone.

I bought a cheap one of these for my daughter's dock and just used a regular audio cable to connect from where the headphones connect on the iphone 5 to the same connection on the dock. It works. I'm disappointed in you guys. I really thought one of you would have thought of that:)

    • ah but some docks don't come with auxiliary outputs.

    • The whole point of using a dock is not to have to use the aux cable… You could just plug it to the wall charger, use the aux and call it a iPhone "dock".
