Ferntree Gully VIC - Eastern Bargain Centre and Posh Gully - 20% - 50% off Closing down Sale

70

This commercial building is closing down both Eastern Bargain Centre http://www.easternbargaincentre.com/ and Posh Gully http://www.poshgully.com/ are having an unadvertised closing down sale.

Eastern bargain centre sells general hardware for homes much like a bunnings, usually cheaper and better service. 50% off all hardware and tools, 20% off all timber. This is a real discount and is off their normally low prices. Pretty much everything is for sale.

Posh gully is a cute homewares store next door, they sell some great items for presents including photo frames, kitchen / home decorations and furniture at a great price. 50% off.

These are both unique and local stores which are closing down after Easter (i've said Thursday but they may run until Sunday.)

They haven't advertised this and I wish them the best for the future, they were great little stores for anyone around Ferntree Gully VIC.

Unless you are within driving distance I wouldn't bother contacting them for interstate / deliveries etc. It's a fire sale!

A couple of items I noticed:

Ant caps for homes - $5 for about 30 (retail $1.50 ea), floats for plaster or concrete $6.50, plenty of tapware, plastic tubing, tools, brackets, door knobs, plumbing kit and a large array of timber like you would see at bunnings (no sleepers). Plenty of pryda stirrups too. They've run out of concrete bags though. Plenty more stuff but I can't list everything.

Word of warning to blokes, if your wife goes into Posh Gully she's likely to buy at least 2 things… it's a great store - you have been warned :)

Address is 1841 Ferntree Gully road, VIC. Just drive in all the way to the back.

It's a shame to see this go, we are/were a supplier to these guys. Top staff. Used to be a very busy store back in the day. Another timber yard to bite the dust.

    • Do you guys sell direct to public? :O

      • +1

Lol you don't even know what I sell.

        • I know :) But a supplier is generally cheaper than retail stores? Thought you might do an OzBargain direct to public sale :P

        • We are an importer. So we are heaps cheaper. Stuff I sell isn't exciting. Sorry :(

        • +1

The key thing that excites an OzBargain-er is the price, not what we're actually buying haha :)

Care to share what you sell? :O

  • interesting post, thanks. I might pop in shortly to have a look.

  • Thanks for the info Robbie, will check it out!

  • I went there today. Its fairly barren now, all the shelves are empty. What is left is some tables of odds and ends. There is a whole lot of plumbing parts at about half the price of what bunnings sells them for, mostly t joins, corners, pipe-screw etc. There was a roll of lagged 1/2" at $125, toilets for $120, vinyl clear plastic tubing, rolls of chains and a roll of clothes line wire for 30 or so.

Best bargains are in the larger things. They had maybe 20 sheets of laserlite left in clear and tinted. They were selling them at $30 for a 3.6m sheet. bunnings sells the same thing for 39.24

Had a few rolls of chicken wire/stronger wire, but these were marked at the same prices at bunnings.

    Guttering 50mm x 6m was $15 - bunnings price $21.42

corrugated steel 2.7m for $18 vs bunnings $28

Also plently of wood in treated pine and plywood/mdf sheeting/laminated board. Regular prices are almost half of bunnings price. Take off the 20% and its even better. The lady at the counter also told me if you bought the entire stock, you could get 50% off it.

Treated pine 150 x 50 $4.5 per meter bunnings price 7.15 per meter

They are closed tomorrow, but will open again on saturday, and they will up it to 60% off. Sunday is the last day.
