  • Another price drop already?? I wonder if now is the time to buy.

  • That is a good price for a very decent phone.

  • Wow drop fast, when will S2 drop to $200?

    • +4

probably not even worth buying at the rate s3 is dropping

its already at nexus 4 prices

      • -3

Yeah may be worth if dropped to $150.

  • +1

Hmm, makes the Nexus 4 look expensive now…

    • +1

      Yeah it does doesn't it.

Still wondering what will be the actual cost of S4 when local stock finally arrives.

  • +5

can you put 16gb in the title

      • +8

That may be, but still no harm in being thorough..

  • and put non LTE

      • +5

and put non IR Blaster so no one gets this confused with the S4. Haha, sorry just pulling your leg shaw.

    • The LTE is a different model, the correct model is in the title.

  • +7

I got the i9305 (4G version)for only about $80 more. Worth it for the doubled RAM, and ability to upgrade to 4G network if you're not already on one.

    • hear hear!

    • +1

But will it have the same lack of updates the S2 4G had/has (i9210T)??

    • +1

The extra ram is for data transfer from the 4g chip to mainboard so it does not lag up the daily operation of the handset.
And a reason why there is a big drain on the battery as the 4g board is seperate to the main board where everything else is situtated.

    • +1

I'd assume custom roms aren't as plentiful though, which to me is a big selling point for any android device.

  • +4

32GB for $40 more - $438 delivered vs Nexus 4 16GB for $420 delivered from Google. Pretty damn good deal I'd say.
But kogan warranty/customer support is enough to put me off this deal.

I'll stick with my Nexus S lol.

    • +6

I found Kogan warranty to be quite good.

I sent a lens to be fixed, they paid for the postage both ways except the packaging I got from aus post and the lens fault they could have rejected it easy, saying it broke because of mishandling. I may have put a little too much pressure on the lens which may have caused it to brake. I put it in the wrong bag and zipped it up a little tight.

Maybe it was easy to fix because it was mechanical rather than electrical problem that they were better I'm not sure. But I'd give their service a good rating. But then again I'm not sure how they would do with phones because I've never had a problem with a phone before.

and sorry I'm not feeling to well today so this may not make as much sense as I would have liked.

      • Thanks dmc900:)Take care.

  • +3

Anyone noticed that the Note 2 4G price also drop to $529?

    • Yes, surprisingly low. Any suggestion for that one?

  • awesome!!!

1> Can we upgrade/add memory later to move from 16gb to 32gb?
2> Need to send this as gift to a friend India, any suggestions for international (courier compnay) shipping? any idea on shipping rate?

    • You can add memory up to 64GD via micro sd card. I think you can ask Kogan to shipped direct to India instead to Australia.

    • Your friend might attract a lot of tax if you are sending it via courier/post…there is no threshold set as such…just making u aware.

    • Test it before sending. You don't want to gift a dud phone.

    • Bad idea. Kogan won't ship it directly to India. And India has massive import duties on cellphone that your friend will have to pay, which means they won't save much over what it costs in India.

  • at the rate the price is dropping i say hold off buying until the s4 comes out by than prolly 350..

  • A price starting with a 3 makes a big psychological difference.

  • Which is mostly sold or liked? Blue or Black one? Any specific reason?

    • Blue would have sold way more because that was a color at the launch of the S3. Black was only recently introduced.

Also I reckon blue is easier on the eyes than black :), but it's really up to personal preference :)

  • +1

Id stick to the 32 gb if possible as the 16gb has some issues with the memory failing.
There is a fix with jb 4.1.2 but I know a few handsets that still failed.

I would go the google handset to aviod such dramas.

  • S3 flagship

    u wot?

  • +1

Has any one tried pricebeat from OW?

    • +2

      Yeah,

Just got it matched through OW (1300 OFFICE) for $378.10

Tried to do it at my local and they said no way "don't match kogan", so called customer support and no problems.

Should arrive in a couple of days… (Tuesday probably because of Easter).

For the Mrs Birthday (today… gulp) So I'll be in the good books with this!

      • Just price matched the 2nd last one from OW Joondalup WA store :-)

        • So Joondalup WILL price match Kogan?
I just tried to do it at Morley and they said NO GREY IMPORT WON'T DO IT!!!!!

worth the drive if they do

  • +1

    Which is worth buying?
    * Nexus 4 16GB for $420 delivered from Google
    * Samsung Galaxy S3 16GB Black or Blue $398 delivered from Kogan

    • +1

At this price, I'd personally go with the Galaxy S3.

However, you might want to look at a tech comparison site such as this to help decide.

    • I would go with the S3,

there is a huge developer base on XDA for custom forums so you can get the latest android updates quite fast.
      and removable battery, microSD

  • -2

What is weight of this package (which we receive)?
Im trying to figure out how much is international shipping I will have to pay to send it overseas.

    • +6

you ask a lot of questions. just buy it already! you know you want to

    • Just bear in mind that if you want to ship it overseas with battery, you will have to use private couriers such as ups or dhl…etc
Aus post (the cheapest option)will not ship the battery.
If S3 batteries are available in India and not expensive, then you can send the handset without battery via Aus post.

  • +5

Why are people getting so excited about these Samsung Galaxy phones? All the cool kids use iPhones. I get shunned because I own an Android tablet. Functionality doesn't matter; social image is everything.

  • i want to buy one but im goin to USA on 15th April. not sure if it will arrive in time cos i need a phone for my trip. either get a xperia z or risk this one

  • omg ,how low will it be?

  • I just upgraded my S2 to a S3 LTE on the Unique mobiles deal the other day. I actually had buyers remorse until I received it - really nice phone.

  • interested to see how the unique mobiles and mobileciti react to price match shortly. If AUD$ is still up and S4 will hit the store soon, S3 will keep falling…

  • As an iPhone user these phones are great value at this price. I'd jump over to Android just to have numerals and letters on the same screen while texting :)

  • Still available, this time @ $388 delivered.

Seems like a good phone, but lacking LTE (4G)…
