Woolworths Home Brand Non-Scented Baby Wipes $9 Per Box (6x80 Sheets). That's 1.875cents a Wipe

100

Was at Woolworths and noticed that they have back in stock the Home Brand boxes of 6packets x 80 sheets of non-scented baby wipes in store. This is an item that isn't in store all year round. Today I saw it marked down to $9 a box as per the picture. This equates to 1.875 cents a wipe.

Today I saw stock of these baby wipes at Woolworths Victoria Street (Beehive Centre where Aldi and Daiso are), and Woolworths Doncaster. Both these stores are in Victoria.

The quality of the Woolworths Home Brand wipe is pretty good. It doesn't have the embossed bears on it like Huggies wipes. However, seriously, who looks at the embossed image of the bear on the baby wipe after it has been used?

  • Are these flushable? I've heard from reddit that they were great to use in the toilet … for a better wipe.

  • This deal should clean up.

The Coles baby wipes a good quality for $1 more, can't say as I've used these ones.

@Yanoflies, if you read the packs then unless otherwise stated you shouldn't flush any wet wipes as they don't degrade the same way that toilet paper does. If you have any fraying on your underground piping then the wipes can get snagged and clog your drain, costing a hundred dollars or so for a plumber to come and snake your drain.

  • “Progressive Enterprises is recalling several brands of baby wipes from their supermarkets, after they were found to contain a dangerous preservative. They include Woolworths Homebrand, Select scented wipes and Precious flushable wipes. The wipes contain the chemical iodopropynyl butylcarbamate carba mate or IPBC, which was originally used as a paint and wood preservative and more recently in cosmetics. IPBC is believed to cause allergic reactions and is already banned in many other cosmetic products for children. It is unsafe for people to breathe in the vapours of the chemical.”

The chemical is not banned for use in baby wipes - check the ingredients before buying to ensure it does not contain it.

  • Why do babies get to be all be all clean and fresh smelling! They should call them @$$wipes and then adults can feel comfortable using them too ;-)

    • The marketing team decided a$$wipes was a term many would get shitty about!

That said Kleenex called them flush-able wipes and charged 7-8c/ wipe. Flush-able technology must be expensive!

      • They are more expensive because they have to be strong enough to not fall apart while wiping your ass, yet degradable enough that they will break up in your drain and not clog your pipes.

  • Just checked the packaging. There is no iodopropynyl butylcarbamate carba mate in the Woolworths Home Brand Baby Wipes. Also it says do not flush the product or the packaging down the toilet.

  • It's often on special at Big W for $8.78 and I always buy a box when they have free delivery.
