Potatoes, Brushed. 5KG Bag $1.99 (Footscray and Werribee, VIC). Today Only at SIMS

70

Potato fans rejoice.
Just say no to overpriced snacks.

Are you aware that a packet of chips (with the equivalent of one average potato in there, weighing in at 200 grams or less these days)…are you aware that this snack costs as much as a whole bag of potatoes (albeit unprepared)?

Well now you are.
:)

You can dispense with overpriced snackage and get some real tucker with this $1.99 5KG bag of brushed potatoes that has my seal of approval on them (they are not junk or old stock and they taste delicious).

Enjoy mashed potatoes.
Enjoy chips.

Enjoy these fantastic potatoes so many ways: these potatoes are great for all cooking tasks that I've tried and most of all, they're CHEAP.

Available at SIMS SUPERMARKET in Footscray and Werribee, today, April 11 only. You may find other stuff you want from the catalogue too. The SIMS SUPERMARKET store locations and those delicious potatoes are both listed in the linked catalogue on Page 1!

You can't have enough spuds.
Enjoy.

  • Hicheepwun, are you a rep for Sims Supermarket?

It's rare to see bags of potatoes this cheap. Where are they from?
In NSW the local Harris Farm sells 5kg washed potatoes for $5 and the brushed 5kg for closer to $8 so this is a pretty great deal for nearby potato munchers. :)

  • hi bizi,
Great to hear from another potato lover :)

I'm no rep, but I did pick some up this morning (and enjoy eating some too). I've bought them before at this price and tend to stock up on several bags when the special is on. They are really tasty.

This is my first grocery post on ozbargain.

The potatoes are grown in Victoria.
The packet says they're packed by:

    CUMMAUDO FARMS PTY LTD
    2241 Strzelecki Highway
    Mirboo North 3871
    Victoria

SIMS normally have these for double the price ($3.99) or more. I don't shop there much, but the potatoes are good value when they discount them. Every shop is good for certain things.

    Cheers :)

Thanks cheepwun for the response. I am married to a potato muncher and think that this is a must-buy for anyone in the area. Put them in the fridge's crisper section to last longer (but now it's getting cold that's probably unneccessary.

The ones at my local fruit place are always from SA.

Ideal for soups as well as chips so get to it. :)
