Nintendo 3DS for $89.25 at Dick Smith

224

I was one of the lucky few today to get a 3DS so low. The console has been at 120 for a few months so I guess there are some leftover inventory which some stores still wanted to remove.

You will need to do a check.

DSE is also selling cheap games:
3DS Kid Icarus Uprising $22.50
NDS Pokemon White & Black 2 $30
3DS Zelda - Ocarina Of Time 3D $30
3DS Mario Kart 7 $30

Also in Pink at the following stores:
22/04/13 UPDATED Locations: Claremont Quarter, Burnie, Traralgon, Morwell, Macarthur Square, Mittagong, Campbelltown Mall, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Bathurst, Hamilton, Horsham, Dalby

  • Damn i thought when i got it for $110 it was cheap, this is definitely worth it.

  • I'd rather pay extra and get the 3DS XL but not at $220.

    • the 3DS XL looked too pixelated for me and I hated how they made the inside surface from a cheaper plastic.

  • +1

    nothing in Adelaide.

  • -1

once again no stock dse deal!

    • Why would Dick Smith mark an item down when it is out of stock? As I said, there should be some leftover 3DS consoles in a few Dick Smith stores.

      • -3

Your name said it all. Dicksmith mark down item they dont have all the time.

  • +4

    Nothing in Sydney.

  • +1

You should add that most of the games are cheap too. Mario kart/3d land and such are $30. Kid icarus $22

    • Oh yes indeed! I bought Pokemon black 2 for 30 dollars from DSE today! ^_^

      • +1

2 stores near me have stock. 1 has black the other pink thanks :)

  • +1

Cairns DFO and central has stock.

  • No stock anywhere in sydney..it's not a bargain.

  • +1

    No stock.

  • Damn no stock anyone found anywhere that will price match

  • Quite a few in stock in Newcastle

    • Gone now!

  • +1

Innaloo not picking up the phone…maybe too busy raiding what's left of the 3ds stock :)

  • +1

there might be stock in bairnsdale and sale in victoria (if you got relatives up that way)

  • Damnit, girlfriend wants one of these to play the new Pokemon game that's coming out. Reckon they'll get any cheaper within the next few months?

    • There's hardly any stock, it won't get cheaper.

    • I doubt it, the DSE stores have nearly been emptied by the previous $120 price tag. $90 should be the limit that DSE would sell this item.

$90 really is a steal considering the used DSi XLs at eb games are close to this price.

  • No stock in WA stores that I can see.

    • low stock at Innaloo apparently…. good luck with that.

      no stock, no deal.

    • -1

with a quick search there is, WA locations are up in the new deal. if not black then pink.

no need neg and be selfish to all if you can't do your research properly.

  • Dam, not stock for Kid Icarus Uprising. Whats the next cheapest?

  • anyone price matching?

  • My Dicksmith had stock

    • -7

your dicksmith? do you own it? care to tell us which one?

  • wow i got this when it was like 250 dollars or something, i can't believe so cheap

  • Woah, I remember when this was 349$… prices have fallen steeply!

  • What are the chances of other stores price matching?

  • +2

Guys, WTF? you cant neg it JUST because its not in stock in YOUR area; clearly people have had quite a bit of luck with this.

    • -6

Yes you can, doesnt anyone remember the bad DSE sale that wasted everyones time?
Or the countless bargains placed on here with no stock! Think b4 U post!

    • -7

course you can… out of stock = no deal = neg… its like me offering a plasma tv for $50 and you come over to buy it and i go oh i dont have one… but if i did i'd sell to you for $50… lolll

you can go putting in postcodes for hours and i bet you wont find one.

      • +1

Neg because there's no stock for you is misleading to people who may have stock near them. It isn't only about you, but other people looking for the bargain. By negging you're saying, this deal is no good, however it's only no good for you, it might be good for someone else.

        • +1

          My point exactly.
If it was out of stock; neg away.

If its out of stock for your area only, dont be so jealous.

    • -1

Im not sure if you ever read the rules MasterScythe, but to save you the trouble of looking them up

"MAKE sure there is sufficient quantity."

That is a condition of posting a deal. If the deal doesn't have sufficent quality (None at any store near me anymore (6 store search) nor near my other family (6 store search)) then the deal should not be posted.

TL/DR Negs for lack of stock are valid, posts about deals with lack of stock are not.

      • And how do we know where the 6 stores your relatives looked are? Stop being selfish and be part of a solution and not be part of the problem

        • -1

Should not the OP do the same with the stores he visted?

If he had stated that "X store has stock of 3DS at this price" I'd have no problem. But his stated in his title "Dick Smith" which makes it seem national (which everyone has done for Dick Smith over the last few days, this needs to be nipped in the butt, guidelines say you post a location as well), this is deceptive because these deal is far from national due to a lack of sufficient stock.

If his title (like the other dse posts) were just for their area, I'd be fine with them as it wouldn't be a case for many of us to go "oh sweet, [check stock], wait a sec", we would just know from the title then we could check just in case.

But I guess I should just use the report button in that case to get the title fixed up aye? That is what the rules say to do so thats what should be done.

  • +1

Just reserved the pink one. Black one is not available anywhere in sydney. Thanks OP.

  • There's some in Nowra. LOL

    • -1

Which one? Showed Black and Pink unavailable for me.

Also, thats cause Nowra is woop woop -_-

  • +1

Drove an hour and a half each way to Burnie from Launceston and snapped one up - even after fuel still came out cheaper than buying one in town. Thanks OP!

    • Wow, that is amazing! You really are a true ozbargainer to go that far, more-so than the jealous neg voters.

What games do you plan to play on the device? :)

      • Heh, $90 in DSE vs $239 in Kmart - spending $40 on fuel and taking a day drive is a no brainer; unfortunately no one locally was willing to price match due to no local stock. We also picked uo Mario Cart 7 while we were there.

        • Well done. That said, they've been about $128 for months at DSE and I had no issue locating stock at that price. Unless that $40 of fuel got you to the closest one, I'm not sure its a huge saving over what it was last week assuming they could have got you one at the previous price.

        • +1

I wasn't in the market for one before last week (had other birthdays to pay for first) - so what the price and availability was then is merely academic.

The way I look at it is; I started pricing up 3DSes on Saturday; those in the area that had stock were selling for >$200 and wouldn't price match non-local stock. Keep in mind we have all of about half a dozen retailers who sell them in Launnie.

The sad part here is that Burnie is actually my third nearest store (marginally closer than driving to Hobart).

Either way; I'm happy with the price and there was stock = bargain.

  • Snapped up one yesterday at Greenhills DSE, thanks OP !

  • Grabbed a pink one from Broadway, Sydney.
EB games matched the price on the games. JB HIFI has been told not the match by corporate. I got Mario Kart and Zelda.
Contemplating whether to do the same with pokemon and kid icarus
