  • Awesome. Thanks OP

  • Good one!

One of those deals where it's a no brainer and commenting doesn't add anything…except I just commented.

  • Awesome!
I assume the key won't work after the 5th of may?

    "Cons

It was difficult/ungainly to edit PDF files and does not allow one to print the completed file or to save it."

    Any truth to that?

    • From their site
"Better than other PDF Reader applications, WinPDFEditor can permanently save the edited PDF content changes in PDF. "

I did notice seeing some weird Chinese company name being the provider of this software during the process of installation.

    I will pass

    • +1

I was going to say the same thing as well.

Reezaa Software - Xian Zhihengyinwu Co. Ltd

Sounds suss to me. I am passing as well

      • +6

if you can't pronounce the name, it automatically becomes sus?

        • +4

It's the Chinese man. Everybody knows you don't screw with the Chinese!

In all seriousness a lot of software out there, including Android apps are coded by chinese programmers.

The firmware on your motherboard, mobile phones and set top boxes? all coded by chinese companies. You're worrying too much about this PDF app.

        • +1

You are right, but it all ends up being backed up by a good company. If you don't trust programmers, let it pass.

Bitdefender 2013 blocks this site as malware…

  • -1

    It's not a virus.

  • Perfect! Right when I needed it. Adobe Acrobat trial just expired.

  • Can this create PDF?

    • Any program can.

I go with open office(.org) if you're looking for a recommendation - completely free.

      • Not true. Calc.exe can't. ;)

You can install a free PDF creator like CutePDF (www.cutepdf.com), which installs a new printer device. You then create a PDF by printing to the CutePDF printer. A dialog box will pop up asking what you want to name the file. That's it!

I've seen a few people buy the full version of Adobe Acrobat just to do that. Ouch!

        • I have that one. It sucks. The PDF comes out really big file size and the text shows up slightly blurry

  • +1

You can also use the following online PDF editor. I've used it many times and it's really good.
    http://www.pdfescape.com/

    • I've found this a useful service too, especially when I'm away from my computer and can't use programs like WinPDFEditor, but I've always stopped short of uploading confidential files.

      Thanks to the OP too.

  • +1

Good PDF editors are few and far between. FoxIt PDF editor is a good one from my experience.

    • +1

PDF Xchange? Way better than foxit IMO. Has always been free with annotation feature, rotate etc. Only missing the convert function.

      • The site is misleading. It says PDF-XChange Viewer is FREE. Then it tells you to "buy now" for a yearly license of $37.50. Their other PDF products are for creating a PDF only such as PDF-XChange Lite. You can download the trial version for free. Though you aren't really able to edit text with the trial version.

      • +1

I agree. PDF Xchange also has a brilliant print interface.
Download the portable version and you will be using nil computer resources unless you open a document. (Unlike Acrobat and others that have 2 or 3 startup programs running in the background.)

  • +9

You cannot edit anything, just add or erase with an eraser (I suppose it just adds something on top of what you erase), there is no way to delete or modify the text. No zoom in or out, very basic. No contact information, could add some malware. Pass on it. I installed it and already regret it.

    • +1

thx. I will pass on the one (with all the other "negative" and suspicous comments about the site and software…)

    friend installed this

    system now has virus

    do not install

    • +2

Just because your crappy AV program says it's a virus doesn't mean it is.

This program is not a Virus.

    • whats your freinds name?

  • +1

No virus detected so far either. Running on a virtual machine. So not much to lose.

  • +1

Just tested the PDF to Word conversion.

Works perfectly. Decodes the PDF image for editing really well in Word.

I have used many PDF to Word conversion programs and this program is definitely up there with the best.

    • What version of Word does it produce?

(Can you see, eg, when opening the resulting file in Word?)

      • .doc
        Does not convert to .docx

        So 03 version of Office.

Also converts to rtf, txt, jpg, bmp, gif, png, tif, html and swf

  • Works fine. No Issues.

Bunch of liars posting rubbish and I have no idea what motivation they have…
If your AV is picking up something then please post a screenshot. Otherwise stop lying.

Even "FREE-bies" can have "hidden costs"…

Even if the program is malware-free,
I suppose it's possible that the
files it produces (eg, Word files)
    could be problematic.

Eg, whoever opens such a Word file
    might be affected.

(This a something that a virus-
    checker cannot detect.)

    Can PDF's carry similar "bad-news"?

      Why is everyone so suspect?

      • I know right? I've yet to see a virus that Microsoft Security Essentials let slip through but the bajillion other antivirus programs (relatively dodgey with false positives or over the top protection that merely hinders your pc) didn't.

If you scanned it with that and nothing comes up. You're good to go.

Also, maybe this company just wants to let people really try a version for free you know? Like quite a few small companies do since they need to get into the business when there are already a ton of other programs out there that do the same thing.

Besides once you use it, I think you'll understand why it's free. I thought it was a good deal but it was a waste of my time. Very simplistic, highly outdated user interface with minimal functionality pretty much sums this up. I'd give it a miss if I were you. (Cannot edit anything on original pdf, only add a dodgey layer ontop with mspaint95 like options)

    • Most file types can be used as a carrier for injecting malicious code. For e.g JPG. It doesn't neccessarily have to be an executable, PDF or a word document with macros.

  • Why is everyone so suspect?

Looks like you missed the reply above … ;-)

It's the Chinese man. Everybody knows you don't screw with the Chinese! …..

  • I think it works so well. No problem
