    • Feature rich?

Are you planning to use all of their features? lol I think it depends on user's preference. (had own both galaxy/htcs in the past)

  • Never go to Vodafone at Stocklands Wetherill Park.
Had a staff member who was the most bias HTC Fanboy.
Told me that the HTC One had expandable memory and faster CPU…

Then i pretended to not know and asks him more questions.
Was so shocked at how many lies were told, he barely talked about the s4 when i asked him of it.

HTC what are you doing to vodafone sales people!!!

    • +1

Don't blame HTC on this, Voda is just resellers. You should blame the shitty employee who probably did a quick 5 minute learning of a htc product and was more interested in selling a phone.

      • yeah, its not HTC's fault, but the resellers trying to hit their quotas / incentives on certain phones.

I work at a telco company (i.e. my job is to sell phones on mobile plans), and there's a promotion on currently where HTC will give the first 100 people in the company who sell 10 HTC mobile devices a free HTC One. It's an incentive scheme to sell more HTC's quite obviously. Maybe Vodafone has a similar promotion, and this guy is really desperate to get a free HTC One?

Just to clarify, I personally do not employ "lying" tactics to customers, and neither do any of my co-workers.

Was the Vodafone staff member young?

HTC One China models 802t、802w、802d come with removable cover, dual sim cards standby, HTC Hidi( similar to Apple Siri) and micro sd slot.

      http://www.htc.com/cn/smartphones/htc-one/#overview

  • Why no MicroSD slot in the HTC One… Deal breaker for me!

  • If I did not read about the rumour of a waterproof S4 in two month I would of purchased a S4 today…

    • yeah but you really think its gona be the same form factor, its definitely gona be thicker.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong - but for all those impressed by the HTC, I would say I'm abit apprehensive. First time HTC user with the HTC One X and was blown out of the water by battery life being pretty dismal, and I think I returned it a second time for replacement (first for the poor battery for a swap around, second because the phone just fizzed out/wouldn't switch on) and decided enough was enough - got a free upgrade after complaining instore vodafone to the samsung galaxy s3. Battery life improved markedly, still running since the middle/3/4 of the way from last yr (htc lasted from feb 12 to then with all its issues/replacements), and so I'm just projecting/wondering if the htc one can really be relied on as opposed to samsungs.

Sure it could be alot different, but just my two cents on being wary re: HTC quality. Maybe I just got unlucky :S

    • I think luck has a lot to do with these things. I currently have an HTC One X and had an HTC Desire HD before that, both which are very solid performing devices.

My gf, on the other hand, has a Samsung Galaxy S2, and while its solid, and refuses to break when dropped multiple times (unlike the Galaxy S3), it is extremely slow, mainly the keyboard interface. Repairs in the first 3 months only came back saying the phone had no problems, and to try get another keyboard from Google Play.

My two other friends who have the Galaxy S2 phone have no problem though.

  • I was charged 13.80 for delivery just yesterday to get my HTC One pre-order that was $679 from this place. That's bad timing on my part I guess. Btw, if anyone is buying online with Paypal and choose store pickup, you will have to pay again at the store with another payment method and they refund your Paypal payment. This a bit of a hassle to me as a customer and it hadn't been spelled out anywhere on the website as far as I could remember. That's why I ended up paying to get it delivered after initially choosing store pickup. Just a heads up to anyone who plans to order online and pickup in the store.

Edit: Should also mention that while the phone was in stock on Friday, they didn't notify me until Monday that it was ready for pickup…meaning they give preference to a walk-in customer over a customer that paid them few weeks in advance.

    • yes I had the same situation, where I paid by PayPal but apparently my account is not verified(first time ever) and had to go in sotre and pay, it took a while for the money to be refunded as well, I was told 2 days but it took 10 days

      • Oh wow…I was told the refund would be on the spot! My Paypal had been verified already so I found that policy a bit strange. My workmate thinks it's due to the Paypal fees being higher.

        • Could be a couple of reasons, but end of the day, if they accepted payment via paypal with collection, they should stick to it. Personally, I would have told them to cancel the order asking me to pay again.

        • Yeah, I was very close to cancelling, but I really wanted the phone and didn't want to risk getting in later with a sub-par microphone tech.

    • Sorry for the inconvenience, reason for not allow paypal pickup are "Paypal Seller Protection not cover locally pickup" and we have few charge back dispute for item not received from some paypal pickup customer.
      https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/security/seller-protec…

We did try to call or email pre-order customer on Friday, due to high volume of order awaiting to process, we are not able to contact all and we only allow walking customer to purchase until we have all pre-order fulfilled.

      • May I make a suggestion then? Could you put a note on the page when you choose Paypal and store pickup option to explain that we will have to pay again at the store? Transparency goes a long way. Alternatively, remove PayPal as a payment option if store pickup option is chosen on the site.

        • Hi dhunterzao

Thanks for your suggestion, we working on the remove paypal payment option if store pickup option chosen.

  • Rep, any news the HTC One 64GB coming?

    • HTC one 64GB cost $80-90 extra, I am waiting on the ETA, try to update here tomorrow.

  • I'll have to wait for the GS4 "Active" ruggered waterproof version- I just hope it's not too big. Reference here: http://mashable.com/2013/04/26/rugged-samsung-s-4/

  • Wow since this phones out, iPhones been sinking deeper and deeper into water. Bye bye apple..
I have an idea head down to an apple store and ask do you guys have s galaxys4 in stock, and wonder what they'll say…

If you have a moment sir, would you mind to have a look at those… excellent creation?

Hi Rep can you tell me if you intend on offering the black S4 version for the same price or cheaper in the next day or so?

I am trying to decide whether to by the black one for $785 here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101551 with a bonus 16gb card or to buy from you.

    • Hi Rep,

      Any word on the above?

    • Hi

I can't do anything at moment till we received the black version, we can get enough stock at moment.

  • good thing about the galaxy s4 is if you get either colour, you can change it later, the case is changeable; just have to wait till the full body cases start popping up on eBay

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 $785 This deal better than JB posted this morning

Knowing I can walk in and buy over the counter straight away without having to wait for postage is well worth the extra $14 for me.

    • If you are in Sydney, you can visit our store to pickup without wait for postage, also support the small business!

  • Has anyone tried price matching through HN or JB for $785?

  • Hi Rep,

    How about a Lumia 920 or 720 deal? :D

  • Hey rep,
Can you do a deal on the Xperia Z?
    Thanks.

  • Bought one from jbhifi 784:), its freakin gorgeous!! Send from my brand new white s4;)

    • Can you tell us is it made in Korea? you can find out from the label behind battery, or the box may has the info as well. Thanks.

  • Hi Rep,

I know you mentioned limited stock but what ETA do you have on this? The site mentions 30/04/2013

    Thanks!

    • All the pre-order will be fulfill by tomorrow, ETA has been updated.

  • Hello is there a rep I can speak to, please? I don't understand why, if I've already paid with a cc, that you need to refund it, so I can pay for it all over again, when I come in-store to collect it?

    • If you scroll up a bit, you'll see the reason why. Some customers were being asses and doing paypal chargebacks after they picked up their phone.

Sorry for the inconvenience, reason for not allow paypal pickup are "Paypal Seller Protection not cover locally pickup" and we have few charge back dispute for item not received from some paypal pickup customer.

    • Hi nitacat

Sorry, you have to pay in store for all pickup, all credit card or paypal payment will be refund due charge back issue.

      • Why not just get them to sign for receipt on the invioice with a copy of their drivers licence being sighted and recorded. Would be quite clear cut with regards to any paypal or CC dispute. You could have a rubber stamp made up. Seems a lot less hassle than your current system. Would put me off purchasing online and then pick-up in store.

        • +1

Paypal is terrible for sellers to deal with when it comes to disputes. Lots of time (which is money) is wasted, while your funds are all frozen.

          http://www.paypalsucks.com/

        • Hi ATD

I wish PayPal accepted driver license and signature on the receipt.

          =========================================================================
          https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/security/sell-shipping…

          What is proof of shipment?

For sellers, we require proof of shipment from you if a buyer files a charge back or reversal for an unauthorised payment, or if the buyer claims the item wasn't received.

        • Your answer is incorrect on both points.

nitacat paid by Credit Card and I'm more than confident that proof of collection with ID details and signature would convince the Bank the item has been collected.

          With Paypal,

Buyer protection for Paypal only applies to items that can be shipped. By selecting pick-up, the buyer would be excluded from buyer protection as the item is not able to be shipped.

          Specifically,

S10.1 You may be eligible for the PayPal Buyer Protection Policy if all the following requirements are met:

          (i) Your purchase is not for:

(vi) Items you collect in person or arrange to be collected on your behalf.

Thank you ATD, for enlightening some of the ignoramuses out there about the difference between paying using CC(Credit card) and PayPal. I'm not going to make a big issue of this; as the shop is really close to where I live so I'm just going to show up after my refund has arrived; with a wide smile on my face and collect my brand spanking-new phone! :)

  • Hey Rep do you have a black one ?

Wish the HTC one came with a micro sd card.
