Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 Dock - $29.83 @ Target

440

Found this in the counter cupboard. Brand new and sealed just with a flat battery in the remote. It is an older model pre iPhone 4 etc but I am using the AUX input.

Was going to buy a 5.1 cheapo but got this instead. Much better I think.

I am sure there will be others around.

From the review:

The good: The Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 offers an understated, travel-friendly design that's compatible with both iPods and other MP3 players (via auxiliary line-in), and it includes GSM shielding for use with the iPhone. The speaker sounds great; has a built-in, rechargeable battery; and comes with a travel case and an innovative wall charger. The included remote lets you navigate the iPod's menus.

The bad: The remote's range isn't very good, and the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 isn't as compact as many portable speaker options.

The bottom line: It may not be the most compact portable speaker on the block, but the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 offers useful extras and great sound for an affordable price.

    You mean "pre iPhone 5"?

    • Nope pre iPhone4. It doesn't work with my 4s.

My wife's phone is an Iphone 4 and it works on it.

        • On the 4s I can charge and play music, just the controls apart from volume do nothing.

        • It doesn't officially support the iPhone 4/4S, so it's not surprising the controls don't work.

  • Nice find!

The name of this product made me think I could stream music to it with wifi. Shame…

If you're old enough, you may remember first hand there used to be "hi fi" before "wi-fi".

    • you can with some gaffa tape

    good price.
bought one 4 years ago, the only issue is the rechargeable battery is very difficult to replace. mine died and it is used mainly as a docket station for charge but no more portable music

    • difficult but possible with bit of patience. I changed one in an mm50 (pre Pure-Fi). battery cost $5, whole process took about 20min. Still kicking along after 7yrs. great little speakers

  • The longevity of the device speaks volumes (if you'll pardon the pun) about its sound quality.

    Or Logitec's laziness. Either way.

I have had one for many years and still love it. I'll be buying an extra if they're still around tomorrow!

  • Lol I paid $69 few weeks ago…

  • If anyone has the dreaded turn off issue at low volume this works for me:

    1. Unplug the speakers, AC and audio.
    2. Make sure the speakers are ON.
    3. Press the reset button with the tip of a pen and HOLD IT DOWN FOR 2 SECONDS then release it. The speakers should be off
    4. Turn the speakers back on before hooking up the AC and audio. Hook up the AC first then the audio. There should be a loud, static noise when the audio is hooked up.
    5. Make sure to turn the volume down with the remote. The one problem I haven’t resolved as yet is: when you reset the unit the volume goes to the top.
    6. It will not shut down. It will stay on whether the computer is on or not.
