It seems there are a lot of people waiting for delivery of nappies that have been said to be shipped (myself included).

Rep if they have been shipped could you at least provide tracking numbers?

  • Just received an email from them saying my order has been shipped and will be received Monday… They replied within the hour to my email and website enquiry

  • I also received an email from them saying my order has been shipped and I will receive on Monday

Interesting Newsletter on the CompleteBaby website - check the newsletter link at the bottom

Hopefully this is just a work in progress, rather than anything else.

    • Looks like they've removed all the Lorem Ipsum test from the page and it's now just blank. Can't really read anything into that I guess

I ordered 5 boxes on the 8th, got nothing yet, payed through paypal, if I contact paypal will they give me my money back?

    WARNING Caveat emptor!

As others have noted, this is starting to sound quite ominous. No-one, including buyers of his previous deals posted a week before this one, is yet to report having had anything delivered. After ordering $300 worth of nappies, I'm suspecting this could get very messy. All the moreso for the proprietors as I and many others tend to get bitter and vengeful when scammed, if that is indeed what Michael and/or Stephen Munday have done. For a bit of background on someone with the same name as the website registar, have a read of www.michael-munday-fraud.com or www.austech.info/general-chat/48512-michael-munday-former-ya…. Seems we could be dealing with a serial offender…

UPDATE FOR THOSE WAITING ON ORDERS.

Just to update all customers still waiting on orders. We have received a large number of orders over the last two weeks which has resulted in delays in processing.

We have received over 3000 orders and have processed and shipped 1200. The remaining orders will be processed and shipped shortly. I can confirm that more than half of the 1200 shipped orders have been confirmed as delivered.

ALL orders placed prior to the 10th have been shipped, and if have not arrived already will arrive early next week.

If anyone is unwilling to wait for their order, they can request a refund via email which will be processed.

Just some information for those who have ordered, your account will show processing up until the time of delivery, only after delivery has occurred will your account change to complete. Hopefully this helps to explain to those who are concerned their status has not updated.

As always any questions, please email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

    • Are you able to provide tracking numbers for those orders that have been shipped?

I'm sure it would help to instill some confidence with people that have been waiting.

      • My order is showing as Complete - yet I've not received the nappies yet, which contradicts what you are saying above.

    • oh crap.. I ordered and paid on 09 may. still showing Pending!!! I paid via bank deposit. i am totally screwed up!!!

    • I'm not defending Completebaby but that could just be that the domain was registered with an old company name.

An ASIC search shows a newly registered (7/5/13) company called Complete Baby Pty Ltd (ACN 163 640 024) registered in North Ryde NSW, which would be about the right time for when this business started.

Does anyone have any documentation showing an ABN or ACN for completebaby? I still have not received an order confirmation which should show the current ACN/ABN (its a legal requirement to be there) and I can't find it on their website.

I have applied through PayPal for a refund as I was assured my delivery will be Friday. I have received nothing so I lodged a paypal dispute and received my full refund on PayPal in less than 24 hours.

    • +1

Same for me. Happy to be proven wrong, but I'd be encouraging everyone else to do likewise…

Wonder if paypal are still accepting new transactions?

      • Not sure if I can lodge a dispute with PayPal yet as I don't have an ETA on my order. Especially as comment from vendor above states delivery could be early next week. Any advice?

        • I got my refund within hours after lodging a dispute and then immediately escalating to a claim and pointing out that all support had been abandoned yesterday, as well as posting links to this thread as well as the austech one above and www.michael-munday-fraud.com
          .
I expected to have to fight harder given that the owner has claimed previously that all orders made before 9 May had already been shipped and must be in transit. I'll happily resent money or return product in the increasingly unlikely event that he was telling the truth…

        • +1

You can lodge a PayPal claim if when you ordered they said it was going to be delivered by now. I would lodge it today before the tidal wave of claims hit. Like the op says hope he is proved wrong by the goods showing up but I wouldn't be holding my breath.

        • Lodged my dispute earlier, and raised straight to claim. It's currently sat 'Awaiting Other Parties Response' and they have until 28th May to respond.
          I'll not hold my breath.

have also requested refund. sick of these businesses underestimation ozbargin community. them blaming too many orders to process.

    Hi Guys,
Just letting you know I created a dispute on Paypal yesterday Saturday 18th of May. Today Sunday 19th I gor the full amount refunded to my Paypal account.
Either Paypal knew about the sus business dealings or Complete Baby sold all available stock too quick and are happy to refund those customers not willing to wait any longer.
Anyways, I will not buy from these guys ever again (even if they are a real business) as their customer service is SHOCKING! and will encourage friends and OzBargain members not to do it either to seve them time and energy.
Hope everyone gets their money back and we can show scammers that the OzBargain community is not the place to rip people off.

    Cheers!

Just put in a paypal dispute half an hour ago, without even escalating it to a claim, within minutes the money was refunded in full ($144.01)!

The dispute has been removed from paypal (not by me), I have received no emails from paypal about it, but have received two emails from completebaby, the first a credit note for the amount of $3.76 the second a credit note for $0.00. I do feel a little sorry from comletebaby, they can't even operate their accounts package properly.

My guess is completebaby have refunded the money, not paypal. Which I guess also means they never posted the nappies like they said they did. Naughty naughty completebaby!

    • Same here. Mine's within 2 hours. "The seller has refunded this payment in full." was what's on my paypal page. Same two email credit memos. Also realised their timezone is set to PST instead of AEST! Have we wronged them? (I wonder…)

      • +1

FYI I bought from them on the 13th ($180) and got the refund pretty much hassle free… Have yet to shown up on my credit card though…

  • +1

Just requested a refund via paypal, ordered a bunch of items back from the 15% discount as well as nappies, out a fair bit of money at the moment, hopefully I can get it back as easily as the rest of you.

  • oh crap.. I ordered and paid on 09 may. still showing Pending!!! I paid via bank deposit. i am totally screwed up!!!

    • Email him direct, or use the message function on the website. He has claimed multiple times that anyone asking for a refund will receive one immediately.

Crumbs of comfort are that if you get shafted, it's one more nail in the coffin proving fraud, ie that he never had any intention of sourcing or delivering any of the items he took the orders for. Previous investigation into Michael Munday have struggled to prove intent to defraud (as opposed to just being an inept businessman) but this incident has provided copious amounts of evidence. Again crumbs of comfort for you - good luck getting your money back…

I have left 2 messages and sent 1 email, no response.

According to their website they should have contacted me last Wednesday.

    From their website:

If for any reason Complete Baby is unable to despatch goods within a one week period from date of your order, Complete Baby will contact the customer and advise expected despatch date. Should this be unsuitable to the customer, Complete Baby will offer either a full refund of the monies paid or suggest an alternative product.

No one has received anything so bottom line this has to be a scam

Ive issued PayPal disputes for both of my orders which are now nearly 2 weeks old

This is a very good example of why using PayPal is invaluable

  • …….and now the website is down

"Due to overwhelming numbers of orders that we have received in the last two weeks, we have had to temporarily suspend any new orders, until such time as the current backlog has been cleared.

Any customers who are still waiting for an order to arrive, and cannot wait any longer, please contact us for a full refund. Any customers who wish to get an update on the progress of their order please contact us and we will reply as soon as possible.

We thank you for your patience and look forward to serving you again in the near future.

    Complete Baby"

I did bank transfer too (yes should have done paypal but didnt) is there any recourse ?

    • I once made a purchase via bank transfer that turned out to be a scam, I lost my money

Unless the seller willingly refunds you the only thing you can do is make a police report

BTW, Facebook page is down too

      • +1

        For those struggling to get in touch since he disabled all communication options, you could also use his personal facebook page to try and get in touch;

www.facebook.com/#!/michael.munday or that of his lucky wife, Melissa which is linked on his page. Likewise I'm sure some of his friends will be able to shed some light.

Interesting likes too; Aria Casino and the Star. Stands to reason given comments in his recent court case about a gambling addiction which left him incapable of repaying his many creditors…

  • Anyone received their nappies as yet? I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait a few more days etc

    • +1

Do yourself a favour and action a refund now!

Hint; do you think his website was pulled down because he can't keep up with demand and doesn't want to make any more sales or…

An avalanche of complaints and damning evidence of past scams has seen paypal cancel his account?

You decide. Either way, I'm sure he'll be conspicuous by his absense in queries such as this. He's probably half way to Las Vegas as we speak…

    • +1

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt too but after asking the same question last week I've lodged a dispute with Paypal.

While not everyone who placed an order with the company is active on OB I think it's fair to assume quite a few people who did place orders are reading this. So far not one person has reported having received their goods and most of us ordered nearly 2 weeks ago. Most people haven't even received a reasonable update outside of the usual "blah blah cheque's in the mail" response.

      • Questionable responses to customers' emails
      • Phone number has been going straight to voicemail for some time.
      • Live chat has been offline for some time
      • Questionable updates posted here by rep (claims 1200 orders have been shipped but no one on OB has been given any shipping details)

Now the website's been taken offline.

The links with Complete Baby and Michael Munday the scammer are unproven but everything together is enough for me to ask for my $200 back and make a trip down to the local shops for a lacklustre experience with some pimply faced "service professional" who I've interrupted from their staff meeting on solving the problems of the…oh you know where this is going.

If all of a sudden the orders start rolling out and the product is legit then I guess I'll have to eat my hat.

  • +4

I'm absolutely disgusted by the kind of low lifers that come into OzBargain to steal people's hard earn money instead of going to work like everyone else.

Do yourself a favor and put a PayPal (if you paid with it) dispute right away, the nappies are not going to show up at your front door, not today, not tomorrow, but never!! If you made the payment by bank transfer, call your bank and see whether there is something they can do for you. If you paid by Credit Card make sure you put a charge back dispute and it would be a good idea to cancel the credit card as well, as they might still have your details on record and scam you in the near future.

There is no compassion in my heart for those kind of A$$hole$ and hope they rotten in HELL!

Hope everyone can recover their hard earned dosh and be careful next time an "unknown" rep put a new deal on OzBargain. We should learn from these kind of bummers!

Special thanks to "PiperTard" for his hard work tracing and uncovering Michael Munday's lies behind Complete Baby.

    Cheers!!

    • -1

Wow, hope you didn't sustain any injuries getting down off your high horse.

PiperTard has been doing a great job raising everyone's awareness of a potential issue but it was axisreaver who made the connection.

Take a breath before you start you next rant champ

      • +1

High horse? Are you having a lend? His post was shorter than yours, and it didn't contain any obscure rambling about pimples or staff meetings…

You're absolutely right that axisreaver should be thanked for his fine work on the initial Whois lookup query that first revealed Michael Munday as the owner of the completebaby.com.au domain. But criticizing someone having a "rant" in an effort to alert others not just to the scam, but to the need to launch an immediate paypal dispute is poor form. IMHO. Some of us are very sensitive to scammers and thieves, and I for one look forward to extracting my pound of flesh. Fortunately, from the look of the latest photos of him, Michael Munday has put on a few pounds since getting married and moving house, so he should be OK to spare a few…

        • No mate, not having a lend. Don't get me wrong, I'm not siding with scammers but I do take issue with keyboard warriors who run around throwing accusations at people without anything solid to back them up. The reality is that a few web searches do not yet prove that the Michael Munday registered as the owner of completebaby.com.au is the same scum sucking bottom dwelling scammer who's being referenced here.

I'm not saying it's not him, time will tell.

High horse - look it up. Nothing to do with the length of rant (yes, mine was a rant too) or feeble attempts at humour (back to me again). The message we're trying to convey here is the same, I just hope I've been a little less self righteous.

I don't want to take anything away from you Tard, you've done great work.

Scammers p!ss me off no end but in my experience they tend to get what's coming to them.

Did any of the mods check if broden is actually Michael Munday?

        • Make no mistake, it's him - the website was registered using his last known email contact and his every behaviour has been standard m.o. of the criminal that is Michael Munday which countless websites detail. That he's doing so this time by attempting to thieve from new mums and dads is disgusting low act.

Why would any legitimate business need to alter WHOIS records to remove all links to Stephen (father) and Michael (son) Munday who Bankstown court records reveal was defending charges as recently as last month, and about whom the Internet is full of hits, especially when combined with terms like fraud and scam.

Beyond that, if you're not convinced by his duplicate ABN/ACN, the window dressing on his now defunct website (try clicking on half the links including the newsletter), the bogus $20 facebook campaign, the evaporating support contacts via unanswered phone and emails, at least ask why no-one has posted to confirm delivery, despite his first deals being posted two weeks ago, and his earlier guarantee that orders made by 9th May would be received by end of last week.

Sorry if it seems like I'm labouring the point, but I recommended this sale to a lot of friends and I'm determined to ensure that every single well-meaning mum and dad who were duped by him get every cent back. And I'm equally motivated to ensure dogs like this will ultimately reap what they sow - "all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing", and all that…

        • Yeah Tard, there's a lot of info there that makes me think that they're one and the same. Just no proof yet, that's all I'm getting at. I'm sure it'll come out with time.

If this is a scam then I got done by a scam. It sucks but it's a lesson and at $200 it could have been much worse.

If he does turn out to be a scumbag then I'll be doing my part to ensure he has another day in court. If and when that time comes, I would hope that everyone else who's been through the same experience will get off their keyboards and down to the local police station. Not for revenge but to try and stop this from happening to people you haven't met.

I don't think the discussion you and I are having is making much progress so I'll leave you to have the last word if you wish

        • Lol @ broden comment

        • That's almost high-horse-esque - I just finished looking it up - apparently a text book example of someone needing to get off a high-horse would be an online poster directing someone else on an internet forum to lookup "high-horse"! ;-)

Out of interest, have you lodged a paypal dispute or are you waiting for more proof?

        • Out of interest, have you lodged a paypal dispute or are you waiting for more proof?

So my rant started like this

          Roscoe99 4 hours 12 min ago

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt too but after asking the same question last week I've lodged a dispute with Paypal.

…and my next rant came about after someone had gotten a little too excited and started banging away at their keyboard before taking the time to check details being referenced.

I had written some more but didn't think it was necessary with you doing such a good job of proving my point

        • Fair point. Chances are I'd have lost interest before you got to the next paragraph anyways… [gets back on horse]

      • Roscoe, sorry if my "rant" offended you. It was not intended for you (obviously). Next time do yourself a favor, skip my comments and save your time

Sorry to “axisreaver” for not mentioning you in my first comment. RESPECT!!! ☺

        • Nah, I'm not that easily offended buddy. You did make it fairly clear that it wasn't directed at me, no problem there.

We all need to rant every now and then. I'm just suggesting that would be better off to slow down, assess the situation and check the details before you get started.

  • How long does it take to get refund when you open dispute through paypal? I just opened it tonight. Hope it doesn't take too long :(

    • It took me 6 hours, but I also escalated it to a claim immediately after opening the dispute. Good luck, harry.

      • I just did exactly what you did 30-40 mins ago. I escalated it immediately. Fingers crossed!

      • When I escalated it to a claim it now says "awaiting other party's response". Is that what you got too?

        • Yep - that's what it says once you lodge a dispute, and it does not change even after you escalate it to claim. Hopefully you'll get the same positive response.

  • After reading the comments, immediately lodged a dispute and escalated to a claim. Glad I paid via paypal.
Bummer, out of nappies and have to go to Coles now :(

    • Bummer

      Indeed.

Thankfully I only ordered one. Waiting on Paypal now.

  • I too am waiting for the claim process, lodged it at about 12:30 today. Makes you wonder what the Internet would be like without PayPal

  • +1

Was gonna wait but after reading it all tonight I filed a claim, let's hope it goes through without hassle

  • Like most people, I raised a dispute and immediately escalated. In a short amount of time the status was 'awaiting other party's response' with a date of 10 days in the future, but overnight this changed to full refund. Glad I paid with PayPal now.

  • My dispute/claim was raised yesterday via PayPal and is still awaiting other party's response

Wonder why some have gone through and others have not?

    • you need to escalate the claim to paypal, i escalate to paypal yesterday, no news from paypal :(

      • Yeah did that, just the same as the others

        • I'm wondering the same Darthhasbro, I've still not received my money back from pay pal, I lodged the claim 24 hours ago

  • I logged a dispute on Sunday night and received the funds back into my paypal account within 1/2hr.

  • Logged a dispute/claim this morning, escalate it as a claim straight after.
At the moment it is awaiting other party's response….
hopefully will receive my nappies $$ back soon

    • me too still waiting refund.
wonder wt happened to the ppl paid without going thru paypal ?

      • even going through paypal doesnt guarantee a refund….
I think it depends on whether his paypal account still have fund….

        • Chargeback always an option.

        • Can people just make a whole lot of sales, not deliver, and get away with it?
          Should this be reported somewhere?

  • All I can say is I placed order on 8/5 and still haven't received anything and website is down. I think I am worried

  • wow…wish I'd kept a closer eye on ozbargain lately.

Just by chance today I noticed that the completebaby website was down. I started writing email to please advise shipment status of my order ($320 baby seat) but then found all these comments. Bloody mongrels. thanks a lot to the super sleuths.

    Paypal claim lodged.

  • hi all

I placed an order on the 8th May as well. Last Friday the 17th May I emailed the company and got an email back saying the nappies had left their warehouse and I should receive it that day. I still have not received the nappies as of today and have lodged a Paypal claim.

    • Same here. Not one shred of evidence that anything was ever sent. Hope the paypal claim goes through.

  • I just called 28 degrees (the card I used to pay through paypal) to put a stop or chargeback on the dodgy transaction and they said they couldn't help me and I had to wait for paypal to resolve - does this sound right? The claim has been lodged for two days now!

    • That sounds right in that Paypal should try to resolve it first. I am not sure why Paypal is prepared to wait so long considering I flagged it as possibly a fraudulent sale.
I assume if Paypal does not resolve it that 28 Degrees will then be able to help. Did they say so?

      • +1

Yeah the guy said to call back if paypal can't resolve. I was just hoping to fasttrack it to be over and done with it. I flagged it as fraudulent too, very frustrating. The rep logged in today, bet he's having a right jolly reading all these posts. Cheers for the reply.

  • +1

FYI for anyone that has made claims through paypal.

I just got off the phone to paypal regarding my claim, lodged and escalated yesterday. They advised that seller has 10 days to respond and under no circumstances can Paypal refund any money before 10 days elapses

I mentioned that this case seems like a clear cut scam and others have received refunds promptly and was told the only way this can happen is if seller approves refund.

  • I have bought a box of nappies 2 weeks ago (Order #CB632244 (placed on 8 May 2013) that I never received. Phone number does not exist, sent emails - no reply… this doesn't sound good to me.

as there is so many victim, why not we do class action against this scammer :)D

    • lets do it. I paid by bank deposit. no chance getting money back now

  • I've lodged a dispute with both paypal and amex, hopefully can get my money back, should of done the paypal dispute last weekend as others have, saw the reps post and thought just give it a few more days and now paypal are withholding the refund

  • My Order #CB629868 was placed on 8 May 2013 2:17:16 PM EST.

However, till now I haven't received any update or info.

I have used paypal and 28 degree….donno..what to do.

  • Another case. Nothing received. Been over two weeks. Paypal dispute initiated.

Will see what comes back. I don't have a lot of faith in PayPal's dispute resolution. They generally don't give you the refund unless they can recover the funds (ie. no refund if it has to come out of their own pocket).
