  • Which store was this?

    • -8

He is not a rep of officework, he is a rep of ozbargain, when posting a deal using the files.ozbargain.com.au link every one is a rep

      • +7

        What?

    • +1

Unless his a manager his not really a rep. Generic employees are not really reps. They don't really have any power and can't really speak on behalf of the company. OP shouldn't have ticked the box unless he is a manager.

If he is a manager, then he post and say as he pleases.

      • +2

Not necessarily. The last time I posted a deal from the organisation I work in (although I am not officially a rep), I got a warning from one of the mods that based on the IP address I posted form, I had broken the rules. Apparently, you need to declare yourself as a rep even if you are a 'generic' employee. Or, so the mod told me.

        • +1

Sounds like that mod was expecting a lot more from you then you were allowed to do.
Don't help out next time, you most likely did the right thing by your company and your bosses would of been happy.

Keep the bosses happy, work comes first. I agree with your decision!

        • You're correct, stralya. If you are have any relationship with the company or store you need to declare this to avoid any misunderstanding or conflict of interest regarding the deal. From the site;

DECLARE if you are a merchant or have some relationship with the merchant.

Remember to declare your relationship with a store. You can do this when you are posting a deal by checking the 'I am a Store Representative' checkbox, and when commenting on a deal by checking the 'I work for <store>' checkbox.

  • damn, none online at all or i would have bought one at full price and price matched it with head office in the morning :(

I guess the phones start ringing @ office works from 830 tomorrow

There gonna freak when they get thousands of calls asking for stock

    • i think they would be used to it from every other ozb deal.

    • +1

I think you might be over estimating the OzB powa. I figure a deal like this would get 10 or so calls.
      Happy to be proved wrong…

  • Available in an OW store in Tassie?

    • Going by OP location, I guess so.

      • Launceston store

    Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1inch 3G 64GB $269
    Samsung Galaxy Tab 7inch 16gb $249

seriously? why is the 7inch even there

    • +1

      I concur. Tab7 16GB isn't that great of a deal, considering we've had the 8GB for $158 @ binglee.

PS. Pretty horrible macroshot on a Galaxy Note II.

    • It is there for a purpose, to made people believe the 10" was a bargain

  • +3

    Agreed with xbai

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7inch 16gb $249 is not the bargain.

    The real bargain is here

  • Are we talking about Tab (Gen 1) or Tab 2 (Gen 2) here?

    • @QQpenguin

      Was $814

      100% tab 1

  • Cant even find them on Office Works website. Doubt anyone can buy these. Not a bargain

    • Says the man who actually snapped one up…

  • +17

according to those tickets the number on the bottom right hand corner indicates how many that particular store has in stock. This means there is only 1 10.1 tablet in that store - it either doesn't exist or a display model.
fyi, I use to work at OW lol

    • +1

      a + 4 u

  • +1

    Aren't clearances store specific?

  • tab 1 is crap

    • tab 1 camera > tab 2 camera

    • tab 1 > tab 2

  • I'm not sure about the original model but I got a 10" Galaxy Tab 2 and the connector isn't the standard micro USB. It's Samsung proprietary and adapters cost ~$40-60! I feel completely ripped off and would take it back to The Good Guys if I could even though it's really my/Samsungs fault.

    • +2

Look on ebay and you will find them for a few bucks

  • How come the tickets according Clearance starting tomorrow 24/5 but available already today??

  • +1

Ticket says Samsung galaxy tab B…..wierd….

    • +1

      B for Black

      • +8

        and you never go back

        • +8

and you gonna need a wheelchair

  • I thought firstly was Tab2. Then noted Tab, OW get rid of unwanted items seems ???. I guess not worth …

  • OP is speaking of officeworks in Launceston

    • So these prices won't be nationwide?

  • I know that the both of these are in stock at OW in Townsville, saw them there a few days ago.

  • +1

6 at chadstone 3 at Doncaster of the 10.1

    • Thanks for your research. (you must not get much sleep). I think you and I must live in a similar area — I imagine you tried vermont south, ringwood, chirnside park, ferntree gully? Do you think this is worth buying or better buying something newer?

      • +1

I'm sure by the time I get to either of those places they will be sold out. I think I'll settle for the nexus 32GB 3G.

I tried both Vermont South and FTG.

  • +1

    We have Clearance Clarance

    • What's your vector Victor?

  • Outstanding price (if stock actually exists) but be aware of one serious limitation of this tablet. While it has 3G it does NOT support cellular voice calls via the SIM and there is no available fix from Samsung. There are hacker tweaks on the web but BEWARE of voiding warranty. Of course you could use Skype of similar VOIP products as a work around.

    • +1

      not many do

  • Taken last one at Chaddy.

    Thanks OP!

  • Any in Sydney?

    • +1

      Any telephones in Sydney?

  • +1

There's just the display model left at the Toowoomba store (for the 10"), as of 5 mins ago.

  • 3 in stock at sydney officeworks on clarence st

    • all gone.

  • None on COllins and King St - Melbourne.

  • +1

Fantastic tablet if you don't plan to do nothing else than web browsing and simple angry birds type of games., this tab is still way better than any quad core Chinese tab nockoff.

  • rang Rothwell OW. they checked the computer for the 10.1" model SYSGB3G64. none in QLD. they had regular samsung galaxy 10.1 16gig wifi only for $284

    • The $284 one is a Tab 2

  • I have one on hold for an hour…wondering if i should pull the trigger or buy the Nexus. HELP!!!

    • sd or no sd

      • No SD. Adaptors required.

        • Then you need the nexus, the only difference really being dual core vs quad

I have been thinking same over last month, will be using mine for xbmc with a nas, so quad core was a good plan

  • Just bought the last 10.1" one at OW in East Perth! Thanks OP
There are a few others available in the Perth Metro area

    • +2

No you didn't.. I just did. I got the display model and a further $20 off

      • Had the option of getting the display model for $240 at OW Fishwyck but hubs decided he wants a brand new one, so we went with the Nexus 7, 32 GB, 3G at Good Guys.

        • I got the display model and the guy didn't knock off anything! :(

        • +2

Rang them back and said other people got the demo for less, they told be to come in for a credit of $19, $250 total!. God bless OzB :)

        • +1

haha but I now got mine cheaper.
I told my old man. He went to a different OW and bought their last demo one. They offered to take $50 off and he argued and said NO. The most I will pay is $200 even. They finally said ok. So I went back to my OW and said hey I paid too much. They took a further 5% off so I paid $237

      • Should have driven to Osborne Park and pay $20 for a brand spanking new one! There were 2 left when I rang around this morning but got the last "new" one at East Perth

  • Got the last one from alexandria nsw :):)

  • Can't seem find any in Melbourne west …

  • +1

Its amazing how when a deal like this is on and you walk into OW… you will just see several guys wandering up and down the aisles looking at ozbargain on their smartphone as though hunting for treasure… I was one of them… >.<" rofl…

  • picked 1 up from Taylors Lakes around 2 hours ago. there was 1 more left at the time, not sure if someone would have scooped it up by now.

  • The only 1 they had in Wollongong Nsw was the Display one
They said they had 2 in the morning
    DOHHHHHHH

  • +1

$190 for the 10.1 version, no charger, customer return but mint condition. Came with 12 month warranty, decided to go for it.

    • Hahah let me guess , this was Midland?
My old man paid $200 for the demo one but they gave him your charger

      • Yes it was Midland, and they wanted $200 without the charger. Finally got them down to $190, now to get a cable so I can charge it from the laptop. Should have got down there earlier today, as the saying goes - you snooze, you loose!!

  • Loving Ripella ;)

  • Updated myn to the latest 4.0.4 which is the latest update for this model tab got flash working on it all good :) now to download all apps and get emails going on it

    • Yup same.. Wondering if I should root it and put Jelly Bean on or not

      • I read somewhere that samsung will roll out 4.2.2 to all dual tabs by end of year so I hope that happens dont really want to root myn

  • No stock anywhere.
The last place I spoke to said there might be only 4 left in the state of Vic.

Good deal for those who found it.

  • Just picked on up at Virginia Brisbane. It was a returned stock and I got it for $242. There is actually a display one still available at the moment.

    • Thanks for the info but I am in Melbourne…

      Really need this tablet :(

Will be very happy if someone could buy it for me and post it to Melbourne :)

      • Would be surprised if there is any left anywhere in Australia now
