I wish you would promote this kind of thing during the day and not late at night when in too drunk to know what the hell your talking about

    LOL
    Geek syss What …..

    • lol! :)

Congratulations! You win teh internets comment of teh day!

  • So a proxy server? funnels all traffic through their server. Wonder about privacy, speed, downtime etc.

    Ha:
"No more cracking down on viewing of “bad” websites on your LAN"

But the bad websites are my favourite. Everyone knows the network admins have the best stuff.

just lost a few customers there.

  • Looks like it has features that any good Internet Security Suite will do. I mean filtering traffic through firewall, block malware via antivirus, antispam filter, blocking "bad" websites via parental filter etc.

Hmmm cant connect to their web site. It must be getting hacked

    • lol that is disappointing :)

I've downloaded it… looks good and registered.
Now I need to work out how to use it.

FYI, the developers are in Russia…

As with all downloaded software: "Buyer Beware" applies.

(Eg, maybe put it -only- onto a computer & network -never- used for online banking, etc.)

    • So it is not safe to use ?

    • +1

Yeah so is the developers of Kaspersky. What's your point?.

      • +3

I think his point is that Russia has a bad reputation for hacking and virus development. Either way, both his and your arguments are weak.
The fact that it is Russian doesn't mean that it is bad, but the fact that one big reputable developer exists in Russia doesn't mean you can trust all Russian software.
I exercise caution when changing anything security related and I encourage everyone to do the same.

Oh and I believe you meant to write "so are the…" (grammar junkie).

It's a "probable risk" which some OzB-members may not consider… I'm the messenger, not the originator of the message about risk (here: reports of previous suspicions)

"Trust EVERYONE… but… Cut the cards"

My suggestion was one way to cut the cards, & I stand by it.

    • You mean Chinese Government? They are not interested.

      • But they love looking at PLANS…apparently

        • Maybe such plans help Chinese would-be real estate where [not] to buy…?
