Mystery Product $19 for Smartphones

16

So Kogan is having a mystery sale on an item with the following description:

Do you own a smartphone?

If the answer is yes, then this is for you!

All we can say is that the product is incredibly stylish, and you get two of them!

Hint – Normally worth a lot more than $19!

So I'm not too sure if this is more for the forums, but thought I'd ask what people think it is, and if people have had any luck in the past with getting something actually worth having from the mystery box.

And a bit of detective work…if you get two of them, I'm thinking they are speakers…

I bought it before for teh lulz.

Well if it's good and/or if it's worth more than $19 then there'd be no need for the mystery. Therefore not a bargain.

  • +3

How do we know if this is a bargain if we don't know what it is?

    Neg purely on that basis.

Probably best to put in the forums mate.

  • I'm guessing some sort of thingy that plugs into your 3.5mm headphone jack. That would be the only common thing across all smartphones.

  • not even thinking of buying a rubbish.. thanks no thanks..

  • $19 for a mystery product? Ha! No deal!

  • Not a bargain. From the last deal most people received the same item.

Not a mystery.. Not a bargain

Be creative guys. What's the thing that can be used on all smart phones? I got a HP veer and obviously 3.5mm earphone won't fit. So I guess there will be a finger in the mystery box, which will fit the touchscreen on all smartphones nowaday. Anyway, I am not going to pay 20 bucks for that.

    • +4

Why not? Surely paying $20 for someone else's finger is a bargain?

Never pick your own nose ever again! Ever!

Its a mystery why people fall for these gimmicks

No business is going to give away something that costs more than its worth…these guys are not running a charity.

  • Isn't this what Kogan do when they get cease and desist letters? For example when they were selling a handheld console that had something like 200 dodgy games on a card. A PS Vita clone from memory.

  • 14 days MONEY BACK GUARANTEE ;D

hahaha someone actually bought one while i was browsing on kogan

    • I'm not sure I actually believe those "Jimmy from sydney just bought a new [object]" scrolling things on the site. Could be completely made up just to make you think you want one.

  • Looks dodgy.

  • probably an el-cheapo stylus to fit on your finger.

    or

    an universal charger/car charger.

$19 isn't going to get you much btw…

  • Mystery items are rarely worth it.

  • ko-GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANN!

  • My guess will be bluetooth headset.

    • Actually if it's those stereo bluetooth headsets, it's a good deal, they are usually $19-29 each on special.

It might be a USB battery pack/power bank. But kogan only stock a 6600mah one which is $39.

  • How can an unknown item be a bargain… ever?

  • not a deal. $19 for an unknown item.

  • Wow, a $19 stylus

  • I reckon is a screen protector, with an image overlay of a retro photocopy of his rear end.

  • Retro handsets! Worth about $6 each including delivery on a quick ebay search. So $6 * 2 + (australian) postage, that doesn't work out too bad. Might make good gifts.

    • +1

If you paid 19 how does that work out good?

  • So it's retro handsets? Not sure if I cbf to get them from PO. Of course they can't deliver to my house! Happy to charge an arm and a leg though aus post.
