Quite tempting, and a really great price.

But… I'm holding out for the next gen of intel chips.

  • I have been thinking over the last few days of switching back to windows. Dell factory outlet has the alienware m17x for 1899 with a 7970m. Should I buy this or the alienware with a much better gpu. Also does 95 gamut make a difference if you are just gaming/lightphotoshop and everyone usage?

    • I bought M16x from outlet Aus and got 7970m with 32gb msata ssd for $1399.

But this is a very good price for P150

Another great deal from LBO, however at this time I would also recommend holding for the 4th gen Haswell intel chips, early reviews are quite promising, the 10-20% performance boost along side power consumption reduction is a huge deal to me, especially on laptops.

+1 for not calling it an Operation System

    • You can with difficulty get a refund from other manufacturers if you choose not to accept the Microsoft licence terms.

Win 7 Pro rejection typically results in a $60 cashback.

  • The way I read it, does it mean this machine can hold 3 hard drives?

    • 1st boot drive
    • 2nd hard drive
    • optical bay replaced hard drive

Or the 2nd and the 3rd are the same?

    • I don't see anywhere it says there are two hard drives… But I have an old 17 inch HP Pavilion notebook that has two hard drive bays and an optical drive. But like with almost any laptop you can just pull out the optical drive and replace it with a hard drive caddy.

    • From the review here, http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Schenker-XMG-P502-PRO-Cl…

Looks there is a mSata slot and a normal HDD slot. There are pictures on that review also that confirm this.

      1x HDD slot
      1x HDD slot by mSATA
1x HDD slot by replacing ODD

So yeah, can hold up to 3, depending on configuration.

What's the approximate weight of this laptop rep?

    • Bottom of the description. 3.1Kg

      • -2

that is most likely packet weight, i doubt this laptop is actually 3.1kg or it s a very very heavy laptop for 15.6"

        • +2

The laptop is actually about 3.1kg. The power brick would probably surprise you just as much. But for the hardware that this thing powers, it's actually not that bad. If you compare it to similarly specced laptops, it's pretty good. (Asus G55, MSI GX60/GT60)

        • +1

That is correct it is 3.1kg for the notebook inclusive of battery. The box weight is around 6kg.

  • Totally late to the party. If this was 2-3 weeks ago I would of bitten on it straight away, but now with the release of the Haswell chips, totally not interested.

Spose if your not into the latest gen stuff, it would be an alright purchase at price point, but looks like a clearing of old stock :D

  • Nice deal. How noisy are the cooling fans, rep?

    Any specs on dBA?

    Newb Questions:
    1. how does this compare to a average gaming PC?
    2. how do these compare to alienware?

    Thanks :)

    • +1
      1. "Average gaming PC" is a vague term. I would guess that you would be able to play any current game on this though, and most of them at highest quality.
      2. There are too many Alienware variants to compare them all… The cheapest Alienware laptop is the 14" $1499 model This Horize laptop is cheaper, and has better specs than that Alienware 14". I would call that a win for the Horize.
  • I just bought the P151 in your last deal.
If this was available at the same time, I would have bought this instead as I really wanted a backlit keyboard.

  • I'd take the 8 business days with a grain of salt.
P151 ended up taking 16 business days (22 real life human days), before it was shipped. (on a friday of course).

Not saying it's a bad deal, just be aware you could conceivably be looking at 25 full Earth days from payment to door.

    • Ditto. I ordered the last deal and recieved it last night. Happy with the product though.

  • Tempted as from this review (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Schenker-W503-Clevo-P150…) the p150sm with the haswell chip doesn't have any better battery life and this 500$ cheaper than the latest model. But the problem is you can't seem to customise any anything about this laptop, I would like the better wifi card and the hd caddy for the optical drive

    • Could I just buy this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bigfoot-Killer-Wireless-N-1202-2x… and replace it myself?

      • We are experiencing some issues with our website at the moment in regards to product options. It will be resolved in the next few days. Typically you can customize most parts on this, so please bare with us.

    • Old mate's website is having dramas with the product options menu's according to the dude who answered the phone. I checked in yesterday and was all set to order it with a few customization options, went for smoko and the page had expired. Refreshed and all the options were gone. Rang the store up and they said that they were aware of the issue and just keep checking back every so often.

  • Rep I want to order this but want to add a 750gb hard drive and 7970m gfx card. Do you know when that will be available to order as I here that you guys take a while to build and then ship but I don't want to wait to long. Thanks.

  • Gotta give logical blue one a general thumbs up.
Presumably due to the extended wait time I experienced on the P151 deal they (without prompting) upgraded my SSD from 128 to 256.
While the delay wasn't ideal- it's great to see a company being proactive with their customer service.
    Great products, great service.

  • I tried to order one of these a week ago. But the website is broken and when I rang LBO, the guy I spoke to seemed to be a bit "slow". He told me there was no way I could order one until the website was up. Still it's all worked out for the best. I've now been able to order the P150sm from a different vendor for about $250 more than I would have paid for this model once it was all speced out (32GB RAM, etc). The P150sm has the 4th gen i7, two mSata slots AND those mSata slots are 6Gb/S, where as this one has 3Gb/S mSata.
Having your website offline for over a week seems to be a strange business model when you are an online seller. All that happens is your customers go elsewhere.

  • I ordered one of these the other day for my fiance. Went into the store at Coolum Beach to have a look. Customer service was great. Would definitely go back.
