For the record, both iPad 3 and 4 are 'retina'. I.e. they have a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 whereas iPad 1 and 2 are only 1,024 x 768.

i got one 2 mins ago. patience is a virtue.
when i started, dark grey was out of order. no problem, tried to order light grey. after more than half an hour wasted due to numerous server error fatal error, etc, i was told light grey was out of order!!
not very happy, but the other colors were still available. so i ordered blue. this time, it was pretty quick, after like 5 mins, blue was out of order again!

anyway, i received my swapped grey case today. i too am questioning if it's genuine or not. the packaging looks flimsy, and the clear plastic front has plastic film on it, wtf? looking thru the front the vinyl bits are crimped and creased along the edges… hmmmm….
I still have the packaging from my original case, will open and compare tonight. got a feeling both us buyers and the seller have been duped :( sorry but if this turns out to be non genuine, i will be returning for a refund and i'd suggest the seller to do the same (unless they knew all along) >_<

People that are complaining that it is out of stock, like I mentioned in the main post it was a clearance sale. Each colour had less than 50 quantity.

Successfully ordered only to receive an email telling me that my order won't be honoured as they've now "run out of stock".

I received my smart cover and had a closer look at the packaging this morning and I have to ask others, is it genuine? I know the OP said it is but I'm not sure. Reasons why I have doubts:
1. It doesn't have the Apple logo anywhere on the packaging. The layout of the packaging matches the one pictured here (http://photos.appleinsider.com/smartcover.031411.001.jpg) but it is missing the Apple logo on the top left and all the small font at the bottom.
2. Instead of saying "iPad Smart Cover" like other packaging I have seen, it says "For iPad Smart Cover".
3. The quality of the printing for the images on the back is not as sharp compared to other Apple packaging I have and the colours are a bit off (the girl is quite dark-skinned on my packaging). Overall it just doesn't look right.The back of the packaging is an exact match for the one on this page (http://www.tvc-mall.com/details/Fabulous-Leather-Smart-Cover…) and here (http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/magnetic-smart-cover-pu-…).
I haven't opened it yet to see what the actual cover is like but just wanted to know what other people think. Advice please anyone?

This is what I got iPad cover I don't have another one to compare but look real to me.
Although there is no Apple Logo on the top but at the bottom it said
