    Intel atom !!

    Is it single core ?

    Low screen reso ?

Wouldnt an investment in a quad core 1080p tablet be better ?

    • Tell me where to find a quad core 1080p high resolution Windows 8 convertible tablet for this price? I will buy one.

Wouldnt an investment in a quad core 1080p tablet be better ?

It would be… if one existed for x86 tablets

      Is it single core ?

      Dual core HT enabled.

good for web browsing and light document processing but anything more than that you'd be struggling with a dual core atom

    • 1366 x 768 on 11.6" will look fine. this isn't a tablet but a tablet convertible for windows RT/Pro - which has a different market from your beleived android based quad core 1080p tablets.

  • Does this include the keyboard dock?

Check out the photo what do you think?

No need for rudeness, it's not uncommon for convertible tablets to come without the keyboard included, pictured or not.

This new generation Atom is NOTHING like the old atom chips everyone hates. Try it out in a shop - it's quick and responsive. It's the reason why Windows RT will die.

Good price too. Cheapest I've seen.

    • Precisely, this is running the same clocks as my i5 sandy tablet. Short of actually using it for rendering/encoding, this will run fine with a 40gb iso and 10+ tabs on chrome.

    • It's not much different with old Atom except more cores, you feel much faster because of the OS.

      • correct.. the benchmark is almost exactly the same

      • The end result being, it's quick and responsive.
        So…

        • just to clear it up for those who would have got the wrongful impression that the new atom processor is substantially better than the old N550/N570s

        • Ah right. OK, maybe I should have said "nothing like the old atom-chipped netbooks everyone hates" instead.

    • rumors are new atom chips will be re-named to the more classical celeron and pentium

the atom brand name has been ruined since the netbook days

      • intel is trying to pull an ALP?

  • i have the lenovo version. the HP one is 11inch and a little bigger. really good for word processing, running smaller programs on the go. probably going cheap as no one is will to pay the 899 RRP. Officeworks will prices match or have already changed the price to the same price or $1 less.
worth it if you need something better than an android and ios where proper multitasking and legacy programs are needed. bonus the keyboard

I just hope no one gets conned into the interest free offer.

$4.95 account keeping fee each month ya balance is over $10 quickly adds up - $119 on this product which works out to be like an annual interest rate of close to 10%

    • i thought current code of practice is that any advertised interest rate must be the comparison rate which takes into account all fees and charges. i wouldn't have thought "interest free" is any exception to an advertised rate. regardless, hardly normal doing what they do best - ripping off consumers

  • Gah such a great price really, not sure if I should still hold off or not. I was considering waiting for haswell but then I was thinking whether I would need so much processing power for just taking notes/web browsing as a student. Seeing as I have a desktop for gaming etc anyway (although I was thinking of simple gaming on the go).

Dunno if Bay Trail is worth the wait either, does anyone have any comments on that?

  • Has this deal expired? I am unable to see the mentioned price on their website. Is this in-store only?

    Cheers
