    I found Dreamhost was a good host service. Service good, clear, transparent and easy to cancel when you wish. I also like the Domain look up privacy.
    For a non-profit hobby site I wasn't willing to pay the ongoing costs. Haven't found a better one since though.

    I wouldn't touch Dreamhost with a 10ft pole.

    Bunch of morons who throttle any slightly popular website to death. Unlimited bandwidth my arse, amongst other things.

        Correct. I doubt this would've changed, these sort of hosts always oversell resources and kick off the 1% who utilise said resources.

          Are you a rep? What are you spruiking them? They're barely different to the other 100 alternatives out there.

          I tried to get myself on one of their private servers at the time, but they said Id have to be put on a waiting list. Amateurs! (Kill my sites, and give me no alternatives - effectively booted off the network without refund).

          I reiterate, I wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole and experiences were from 2007.

          Nope. I have ZERO vested interest in them.

          My experience with other hosting providers was that they can be very 'secretive' about the TRUE meaning of 'unlimited'.

          At least this mob put it out there for all to see and that I like.

          As far as the quality of their hosting, I cannot comment as don't have experience with them. This is why I am asking others.
